The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha! Chapter 76 - 11: Audilet Grand Theater
The sky was dimly lit.
On the third day of arriving at Lion King City, after intensively accepting the King’s welco ceremony and visiting Pearce Cathedral, Gray had two days of free ti before the official enfeoffnt ceremony.
In the early morning hours, the two little Blood Clan mbers had already sneaked back to rest.
Did you think Gray would start resting too?
No, Liches were perpetual motion machines. After charging up all night, he urgently needed to go out and practice knightly virtues!
"I think you’d better reconsider. After all, this isn’t White City. I don’t want to see you make a fool of yourself," advised the Black Cat by his ear.
"No, practice is the only criterion for testing truth! Just reading books is useless. Go out, and promote the holy faith!" urged the Demon.
"Although I don’t oppose, I always feel there’s sothing wrong with the Succubus supporting this," hesitated the Angel.
Gray vowed, "I think I should go out. No Holy Knight ever stays cooped up at ho, right? Follow your heart. When I earnestly implent knightly virtues and the holy faith, whether right or wrong, that in itself is the best interpretation of faith! Mr. Priest said so. I can’t shrink back in fear of difficulties; otherwise, who will take on the responsibility of making the world a better place!"
Righteously, Catherine was finally swayed, "Alright, you’ve convinced . I agree you should go out."
The Angel and Demon vanished, and the Black Cat crawled inside Gray’s armor. Preparations complete! A Lich, accompanied by a ghost, an Angel, and a Demon, was heading out to do good!
Gray reached out and opened the door, then imdiately slamd it shut with a "bang."
Silence. A long silence. The entire room was quiet.
Gray blankly said, "I think... I saw the King."
"I think I saw him too," the Black Cat was also stunned.
"Before you leave, don’t you at least sense what’s behind the door?" Vivian expressed her incomprehension.
"Why is he here?" Catherine muttered to herself.
Cautiously opening the door again, Gray peeked through the gap, then slamd it shut with another "bang."
"Impressive, you had to look a second ti?" Vivian was exasperated.
However, ever since yesterday, she’d been exasperated by many things and was gradually getting used to it.
The King’s smile, which he’d managed to muster for the second ti, stiffened as he stood outside the door, followed by a large entourage.
"What’s the aning of this? Doesn’t he want to see ?"
"Probably... not. Maybe it’s just being starstruck."
"I’ve never seen anyone so starstruck that they shut the King out!" the King said angrily.
The door opened once more, and Gray stepped out.
The King quickly forced a smile for the third ti.
Gray waved at the King cheerfully and said, "Hi, Your Majesty. Good morning. Fancy seeing you here. Are you here for Yilin? Have a good ti."
He bowed, then walked past the King and left. Left! Like he’d accidentally run into soone on the street!
The King’s entourage was dumbfounded!
"Stop!" the King shouted.
Gray quickly froze and turned around.
"He’s clearly here to see you. Pretending to pass by won’t work," the Black Cat muttered quietly.
"But I don’t want to see him. He’s a king without knightly faith," Gray was full of grievances.
Vivian was already laughing so hard she could hardly breathe.
Catherine sighed silently.
Finally catching his breath, the King forced a smile for the fourth ti, "Lord Holy Knight, I’m sorry, I just... spoke a bit loudly. I hope you don’t mind. Actually, I’m here to invite you to watch a knight’s drama."
"Huh, a knight’s drama?" Gray was startled.
"Yes, a knight’s drama," the King smiled, "I heard that besides spreading the holy gospel in White City, your favorite pasti is watching knight dramas. Our Lion King City has even better knight dramas than White City, I guarantee it."
"Really?" Gray was imdiately intrigued, "But, so early, is there a knight drama?"
"Of course, as long as you like, there’s always a performance," the King instantly caught the change in Gray’s tone, beaming as he walked over to Gray and invited him outside, "I’ve already booked the entire grand theater and the best troupe. You can choose any play you like, and they’ll perform it imdiately. Not only that, but I’ve also prepared a small mystery gift for you. Or rather, two. I hope you like it."
"This is wonderful. I thought you were a king with no knightly faith. I didn’t expect you to like knight dramas as much as I do."
"Uh... a king with no knightly faith? Oh no, I an, of course, I’m a king with knightly faith."
"Can I bring my horse?"
"You an riding? Of course, I can et all your requirents. Can a knight who doesn’t ride even be called a knight? Hahaha."
"You’ll regret this," the Black Cat muttered quietly.
The Audilet Grand Theater, a giant apricot-yellow dod building. It was the largest building in Lion King City, save for the Lion King Palace and Pearce Cathedral. It represented the cultural heritage of the Isaac Kingdom.
About half an hour later, the King sat dumbfounded in the royal box on the third floor of the Audilet Grand Theater, staring at Tenidas, who was several heads taller than him.
The spacious royal box had beco cramped after a horse was squeezed in.
"Why... would a horse watch a knight’s drama?" the King’s eye twitched.
"Didn’t I tell you? I want to bring my horse. I always take Tenidas when watching knight dramas. Is that not okay?" Gray asked seriously.
"No, it’s fine, of course. I already said all your requests would be t today," the King forced a smile for the fifth ti.
"Neigh~!"
"Tenidas wants to thank you on its behalf."
"No thanks, no thanks. You can communicate with the horse? Remarkable, hahaha," the King awkwardly laughed while wiping his sweat, "So, what would you like to watch now?"
"The Knight’s Guide to Success!" Gray blurted out.
"I thought so, I knew you liked that play the most!" the King said proudly, "I heard you’ve watched ’The Knight’s Guide to Success: The Sequel’ six tis. The first two were regular performances, and the White City’s theater owner specially added four more for you later."
"He’s investigated you," the Black Cat whispered.
"What does that an?" Gray asked.
"It ans he respects you a lot!" Vivian whispered.
"Really?"
"Um... probably, maybe. Catherine really didn’t know what to say. After all, Gray had once considered capturing the King on the spot. Better not provoke him just in case.
The King clapped his hands twice and smiled, "Now, let’s present today’s first gift."
Gray looked around, but nothing happened.
The King clapped his hands again, twice, still nothing.
A servant hurried into the box and whispered in the King’s ear, "Your Majesty, he said he has to rush his manuscript, so he won’t co..."
The King gritted his teeth and chuckled, "Couldn’t you just have soone bring him over?"
"Uh... yes!" The servant shrank back and hurried out.
"Just a mont, he’ll be here soon," the King smiled as he said to Gray.
... ...
Lion King Palace.
Shelley ran into Dean in the hallway, "Oh, Mr. Priest, you’re here."
"Yes, I’m here to visit Lord Holy Knight," Dean replied respectfully. "Where is Lord Holy Knight?"
"I don’t know," Shelley shook her head, "I’m also looking for him. He disappeared early in the morning. Tenidas is gone too, so maybe he went out."
Another priest nearby timidly reminded, "We only have two days."
Dean started sweating nervously, "Oh, I see... Could you help find out where he is? I have sothing urgent."
"Okay," Shelley nodded. "I’ll help you find him."
... ...
Finally, a guy in a burlap robe was pushed into the box by the soldiers.
The door was slamd shut with a "bang."
He leaned against the door, pleading desperately, "No! No! I need to go back and write! I love writing! Writing makes happy! Please let go back! If I don’t submit the manuscript, they’ll kill !"
"Ahem!" The King coughed heavily, his anger evident in the tone.
The newcor was startled and quickly turned around.
The box fell silent once more.
The King, Gray, and Tenidas silently stared at him.
dium build, ordinary face, the kind you’d lose in a crowd. A loose burlap robe, ssy hair, stubble all over his face, wearing straw sandals sared with mud.
After a while, the newcor regained his composure, "Um... are you the King?"
"Yes," the King said expressionlessly.
"Hello, Your Majesty," the newcor hesitantly bowed, then cautiously glanced at the King and Gray, occasionally stealing a look at Tenidas.
His smile was stiff and lewd, very lewd!
"What’s your na again?"
"Reporting to Your Majesty, everyone calls ... Turtle."
"Oh shit!" the Black Cat blurted out.
The Angel and Demon didn’t react imdiately.
"Turtle? Like the one with four legs that you eat?" the King continued.
"Yes."
"Why such a strange pen na?"
"Because... it’s easy to rember. Yep, easy to rember," Turtle awkwardly smiled.
Gray stared at Turtle, unable to take his eyes off him.
Turning slightly, the King introduced Gray, "This is our Lion King City’s best-selling novelist, Turtle, today’s first gift."
"Hehe, Your Majesty flatters ," Turtle awkwardly scratched his head, "Actually, sotis it doesn’t sell well. Last ti one of my books flopped. I lost so much money."
"His famous work is..."
Before the King could finish, Gray had already lunged forward, grabbing Turtle’s hand, "I know! You’re the author of ’The Knight’s Guide to Success’!"
Turtle was so startled he tried to retreat. Unfortunately, Gray held his hand tightly, unable to break free.
From the side, the King said, "Sir Holy Knight is your loyal reader."
"Sir Holy Knight? My reader?" Turtle gazed at Gray in amazent, then whispered, "Did you read the authorized copy?"
