Mu Qingxin and Lou Xu were always inseparable, so Tong Yan was also very familiar with Mu Qingxin as they ate together at lunch.
Mu Qingxin looked at the word cards in her hand when she was eating and suddenly muttered a sentence of English words to herself. It was as if she was trying to find the correct pronunciations for specific words.
After listening for a while, Tong Yan suddenly said, “That sentence is, ‘and often his gold complexion dimd’…”
Mu Qingxin’s pronunciation was still okay, but Tong Yan and the others were in the International Class all year round, so their pronunciation was still sowhat different from hers. If the students of the International Class went abroad that instant, they would not have any form of awkward ‘Chinglish'(2) pronunciations. In fact, their accents would probably be indistinguishable from the locals.
(T/N: When Chinese people seldom speak English on a daily basis and they try to speak it, there would often be the accents of their native language mixed in the words. It applies to all other languages and nationalities, except the word ‘Chinglish’ refers to Chinese people speaking in English only.)
As the foreign teachers have their different accents, the students would also pick up different accents from different regions as well.
The others who were eating suddenly looked at the two of them, and even Mu Qingxin looked at Tong Yan blankly.
After a long ti, Mu Qingxin responded, “Oh, thank you.”
“But I don’t like the scumbags this author writes about.”
“…”
When they were walking back after their als, Wei Lan watched Lou Xu and Mu Qingxin walk towards the Advance Class and said to Tong Yan, “Brother Yan, the topic of your conversation is too rigid. I can’t even follow up a response despite my amazing social skills.”
Tong Yan was very puzzled, “When did I strike up a conversation?”
“I think that Mu Qingxin is not bad. She’s really beautiful, a good student and is also good at sports. The only thing would be… the engagent she has with Shen Zhuhang.”
“Engagent?!”
“Mmhm.”
Tong Yan suddenly felt amazed; this sort of thing still existed even now?
But, what did it matter to him?
In the end, Tong Yan didn’t expect that he would hear so gossip when all he intended to do was to look for a quiet place to morise his sheet music.
Sitting in a corner of the music classroom, he felt a little tired, so he laid down on a chair to take a nap and was woken up by the sound of the piano.
Tong Yan could also play the piano and his level was not low by any ans, so he could tell that the person playing it was quite skilled as well. However, it seed like the person who was playing was feeling frustrated as they regarded the piano as a way of venting, causing the entire song to have a grumpy and irked mood overall.
He laid on his chair and listened to it for a while, though his head started to hurt as the song progressed.
After a while, the song stopped as he heard a familiar girl’s voice. When she spoke, her voice was cold and had an alienated tone to it, “What are you doing here?”
“I want to have a chat with you,” A boy replied.
Tong Yan opened his eyes and determined that the girl was Mu Qingxin whereas the boy was Shen Zhuhang.
“What do we have to talk about?” Mu Qingxin asked him, puzzled.
“Our relationship is really bad, but actually, it doesn’t have to be this way.”
“I ntioned a long ti ago that I don’t want to marry you, so you can do a favour and tell your family that you don’t like . With the amount of love your mother has for you, she will definitely be willing to break the engagent. With that, everyone will be happy, won’t we?”
