Over the weekends, Mu Qingyao was still humming when she ca back from the make-up classes. When she entered the house, she saw father Mu sitting in the living room.
Father Mu rarely went ho these days. After all, she was the only one at ho. Mother Mu had left and Mu Qingyi too, didn’t return ho very much, so she was rather content spending her life alone at ho. Suddenly, upon seeing father Mu’s return, Mu Qingyao paused before she called out, “Dad.”
Father Mu was sitting in the living room as he smoked a cigarette. After seeing Mu Qingyao, he put the cigarette butt in the ashtray and asked, “Did your brother go to class with you?”
“Mm, we went together, but when it ended, he and Shao Qinghe left together to do sothing.”

Mu Qingyao walked in and answered him casually, “It’s still the sa— it’s not good nor is it bad.”
“Xu Xinduo recently beca a model?”
Obviously, father Mu already knew about Xu Xinduo’s recent situation and just wanted to inquire with Mu Qingyao. Mu Qingyao also walked to the seat of the single-seated sofa and sat down as she replied, “Well, she’s been working part-ti recently. She seed to be kind of famous as well.”
Father Mu was a little puzzled, “Yin Hua introduced her to the industry? She intends to bring her into the entertainnt industry?”
“No, she got it through Shao Qinghe and went to the Shao family’s company.”
“This… the Tong family didn’t help her at all?”
Mu Qingyao shook her head and replied, “I don’t know the specifics either. I haven’t seen how well she has been doing recently too since she’s still kind of thrifty.”
Mu Qingyao and the other girls liked to analyse small objects, bags, glasses and whatnot. Many of them enjoyed buying a bunch of branded items as well.
She had especially observed that the things Xu Xinduo used were not very good in terms of price. The bags were also just ordinary bags of several hundred Yuan and her shoes were also ordinary brands of two or three hundred Yuan.
At this level, it really didn’t seem befitting of her identity as an adopted daughter of the Tong family as she wasn’t much better off than normal people.
Tong Yan didn’t care about what shoes he wore because every pair of his was guaranteed to be more than four digits. So of them were simply priceless in the market. Even if the online quotations of second-handed products were several hundred thousand Yuan, not many were able to buy them.
The pairs of black shoes that Tong Yan wore most often cost more than 40,000 Yuan. It’s not that he didn’t change his shoes, it’s just that the main body would always be black. He had three pairs of another type of black shoes that each sported red, yellow and blue coloured designs respectively. She didn’t understand why he was so obsessed with these shoes though.
“Then what about her and Tong Yan? Are they dating?” Father Mu continued to ask.
He was still very concerned about the relationship between Tong Yan and Xu Xinduo. He always thought that it would be good if Xu Xinduo could get along with Tong Yan and it would be better if they could get married. That way, he would count as ‘having a connection with the Tong family’, right?
Mu Qingyao didn’t know how to explain the relationship between the two. After thinking about it, she replied, “The two of them don’t talk at all in school and they only look for each other once in a while. And Xu Xinduo doesn’t go to evening classes as she goes out for her part-ti job every day, so there is very little communication between the two.”
“Do they have a bad relationship?”
Mu Qingyao shook her head again, “It’s not bad, it’s just vague; it wasn’t as nice as it was at the beginning.”
