65 Peak of the Body Refinent Stage
There was no ti like the present!
Dismissing the scroll, Di Tou rushed back out into the street to continue sweeping.
After another half hour or so Di Tou had filled another bag, but was also just about done with the street his house was on.
So after thinking about it for a mont, Di Tou finished the street he was on, filling the excess leaves into the second bag, before heading back to his abode and depositing the first bag and grabbing the two buckets he used for water.
Carrying the buckets, the broom, a partially filled bag, and a bit of twine, Di Tou walked over to the well and swept as he went. By the ti he was at the well, he had long since filled up his bag.
Di Tou casually thought to himself, "Hmm, it seed like I didn't think this out too well." But at the sa ti didn't think much of it. At this mont he was feeling quite good about himself. He was just about ready to reach the peak of Body Tempering, and he could feel it. Just on the walk over, carrying everything he hadn't even broken a sweat.
After he filled the bag, he even started jogging on his way to the well.
He felt fit. Not just in a physical sense of being able to lift a lot, but in a holistic way he felt healthy in a way he had never really felt before.
Everything felt smooth and comfortable, like his body was a well oiled machine that was just waiting to be used. All the mild aches and pains that had ever ailed him seed to have disappeared in thin air.
Even at the age of twenty, especially with the modern diet, one can't help but feel the occasional aches and pains, but they're often mild enough that we eventually start to forget about them and consider them the norm.
For a person like Di Tou who worked day in and day out, he couldn't help but feel the strain he was putting on his body, but it was mostly ignorable and curable through sleep. But even then, if he compared the him then to the him now he might not have noticed the change as obviously.
But Di Tou had beco an old man upon arriving in this world, and with it had taken on many of the pains that ca with it. Just two days ago had felt like he was eighty and could sprain his back by getting up, so this vitality was astounding.
Gone were the aches and sores, and replacing it was a comfortable and readily accessible reserve of strength stemming from every part of his being.
Lucky for him, even if he had beco an old man, it didn't restrict him physically as much as it might have.
Smiling as he brought the water back to his abode, Di Tou couldn't wait to see what cultivation had in store for him next. After all, this was just Body Tempering, the lowest and most 'normal' level.
As soon as he arrived ho, he dropped the bag of leaves by the doorstep, and placed the water next to it and rushed indoors.
Quickly checking that nobody was nearby and watching him Di Tou kneeled to summon the scroll.
First called up the [Reflection] page.
Strength – 10
Dexterity – 10
Intelligence – 10 (2) (2)
Spirituality – 10
"23% efficiency in activity [sweeping leaves], low tier feedback obtained."
"24% efficiency in activity [sweeping leaves], low tier feedback obtained."
"The Cap has been reached in [Intelligence], excess attributes nulled."
This was just about what Di Tou had expected to see, it seed like things worked the way he had expected.
Even though he had swept the sa street twice, because he had done it in two separate sessions and checked the scroll in between he had managed to count it as two separate sessions.
Or maybe it was linked to the fact that he filled two full bags? This would require so testing.
Taking one more look at his stats, Di Tou marveled, "how beautiful" before bringing up the [Guidance] page.
1. Raise the efficiency of sweeping leaves to
50% or higher. (24/50)
2. Reach the standard of the peak of
Body Refinent Stage (Complete)
3. A Clear Heart (89%)
It was ti. Focusing on the Complete, Di Tou heard the voice begin to speak.
"First there was Wu Chi (The Void)"
"The Void was infinite but One"
"From One, Two was birthed"
"Yin and Yang, eternal opposites"
"Dancing eternally, separate"
"The Two give birth to Three."
"Where Yin and Yang t, mixed an Qi ca to be"
"The Three give birth to all Universal things."
"Shouldering Yin & Embracing Yang, Harmony is ford"
"Eternal but fragile, single but separate."
"Harmony is delicate. A Reversal inevitable."
"Myriad Universal Things will die."
"Three will separate into Two."
"Two will unite into one."
"And the Void, infinite, will return."
"Till the day One again births Two."
The voice paused for a mont, before resuming, raising in volu as it continued.
"Take now a strand of the Void."
"Use it to prune the rotting land."
"Maintain the carcass of justice."
"Let the Void rest, a mont more."
"Take Harmony into your hands."
"Embody Wu Chi (The Void)"
By the ti the Decree finished, Di Tou had collapsed on the ground, writing in pain.
"THIS." Di Tou hissed, "This is the voice. CO back! You f*cker! Argh."
Forcing himself to stand up. Di Tou looked around, but of course there was nothing.
As usual, the voice ca and left as it pleased, the only proof it had ever passed by the f*cking pain that would sit with Di Tou afterthefact.
Breathing heavily, Di Tou tried to readjust himself.
A few monts later, after he had collected himself and the pain had mostly faded away, Di tried to reassess himself.
Now that he had broken through to Qi Condensing, he could be considered a true cultivator now right? After all, Body Tempering, even if if it stepped well beyond to realm of a normal human, was at the end of the day tempering the body, at least from a ntal level it didn't feel like "cultivation" in the sense of immortals and fairies.
With great anticipation, Di Tou started analyzing the changes in his body.
…
Err, why didn't he feel any different?
Wasn't crossing a cultivation border supposed to be a power up?
Why the hell did it seem like nothing had changed?
