45: Unyielding Until Death
"Calm down, calm down. Killing her won't bring any benefits, right?" Seeing that Leticia was about to start beating soone, Xue'er in black clothes quickly intervened.
No matter what, this little one was still a demon, one of Leticia's subjects.
She should also be carrying out Qila's orders. Having her suffer this undeserved disaster didn't sit right with Xue'er.
Leticia snorted indignantly. "I think this little girl won't say anything unless she suffers a bit."
"I'm not little, I'm over twenty!" Emily protested that she wasn't a little girl.
"Is over twenty considered old? I'm almost thirty." Leticia imdiately retorted, completely unaware that the topic seed to be gradually shifting in a strange direction.
Of course, what she just said was a joke. Although her age was a bit high, it hadn't reached the number thirty yet.
She was probably just a few years older than Emily.
"Then your developnt really isn't very good, old auntie~" Emily mocked.
This white-clothed person who claid to be thirty was almost half a head shorter than her, Emily. If this wasn't poor developnt, what was?
Leticia was furious. Her height had always been an eternal pain in her heart. The girls in the Demon King family all seed to have such petite figures—her mother was like this, and both Qila and herself were too.
Just looking at their appearance, you couldn't tell at all that their family was the royal family ruling the demon race. Perhaps this was what they called "you can't judge a book by its cover."
"You little brat, I really need to teach you a lesson." Leticia angrily lunged toward Emily but was desperately held back by Xue'er.
"Your Maj... calm down, miss!" Xue'er pleaded. Since a few years ago, Her Majesty had beco increasingly petty, often getting angry and cursing over these small matters.
But correspondingly, the consequences of her anger had greatly diminished.
In the past, when Leticia got angry, it was basically to the degree of heaven and earth changing color. Now, even Xue'er dared to restrain an angry Leticia.
Leticia thrashed about in Xue'er's arms, trying to pounce out, but under Xue'er's efforts, she was basically marking ti in place.
If this continued, Xue'er might be able to drag it out until Leticia's anger subsided.
Unfortunately, Emily didn't know this. Her mind was now full of stories she had read in books—things like "unyielding until death," "remaining silent despite torture," "cursing enemies in prison."
She felt she had beco one with countless sacrificed demon predecessors. Those heroic spirits stood with her, supporting her brave face against the suffering to co.
"I think not only did your body develop poorly, but your brain also has developntal problems!" Emily continued courting death.
"Stop making trouble!" Xue'er was almost crying. She was working so hard to protect this silly girl, but she kept desperately courting death. What could she do?
Leticia was soone who held grudges extrely well. These words, she could probably rember for a lifeti. This little girl was probably dood in the future.
"I'm going to tear your mouth apart!" Leticia forcibly pried Xue'er's hands open. "Do you know who I am!"
"You despicable person hiding your head and showing your tail, I don't want to know who you are!"
"You... I..." Leticia pointed at Emily with a trembling finger. She suddenly felt that such single-minded subordinates were truly speechless.
Logically speaking, with her subordinates being so loyal and having such backbone, Leticia should be happy.
Unfortunately, Leticia had never been a reasonable person, especially the current Leticia. She only knew that she had been insulted, and the person who insulted her was tied to a chair, unable to move.
Wouldn't she be at a huge loss if she didn't hit back?
"Did I hit the mark? Are you triggered?" Emily was still desperately courting death. This girl was really quite brave. "If you have the guts, kill ! The Demon King won't let you go!"
Demon King? The Demon King is right in front of you! Leticia really wanted to take off her hood and let this fool get a good look, so she could at least die understanding.
But when they passed by each other earlier, this girl had no reaction. Leticia figured she didn't recognize her—she probably hadn't even seen Qila.
Otherwise, she should have shown a confused expression, not the nervousness from earlier, afraid of being discovered.
"I'm telling you, even if the Demon King herself ca today, she couldn't save your life!" Leticia began moving her wrists. She was going to let this damn girl have a good taste of her special technique.
A flash of fear crossed Emily's eyes, but her gaze quickly beca firm again. At worst, she'd die. When she joined the Princess's team, she had already prepared herself ntally for being killed soday.
"Good, you have backbone. I hope you'll still have that backbone later." Thick black smoke erged from Leticia's right hand. "Take my Bone-lting Cotton Palm!"
"Don't!" Xue'er wanted to stop her but was too late.
But Leticia's hand didn't land on Emily either. The mont Leticia struck out, a white figure appeared between her and Emily.
