Chapter 998: 996: Perfect Illusion

The one naturally asking the two to stay is the First Disaster.

Yi Chen couldn’t help but show a troubled expression. If the other party were to extract his thoughts, they would undoubtedly discover the Plague Master information in his mory that’s completely different from the Plague Book, and then both he and William would be killed here.

Just as Yi Chen hesitated, a hand gently patted his shoulder.

"Mr. Yi, still thinking about the eting! Hurry along, being summoned alone by the boss is a rare opportunity;

you must stay close to ."

Seeing William’s relaxed expression, Yi Chen temporarily decided not to dwell on other matters.

The two followed the First Disaster out of the eting room,

Although from inside the eting room, it looked like there was a long corridor outside, the scenery instantly changed as they stepped out of the doorway.

Everyone stood in a dilapidated, unlit hall,

The door that should have led back to the eting room was firmly sealed by wooden boards and nails, leaving no way to retreat.

So carts left in the hall and a window with leftover syringes suggested that this was a hospital.

Not long after Yi Chen arrived here, a string of words imprinted itself in his brain.

Lighthouse ntal Hospital

"Mr. Yi, keep up! If you get lost here, you might be permanently lost and unable to leave."

William blew up a balloon and tied it to Yi Chen’s wrist to ensure he wouldn’t get lost.

Walking through the dilapidated ntal hospital, it was nad ’Lighthouse’ because it was built inside a lighthouse, with a spiral staircase leading them continuously upwards through the hospital.

On different floors, one could hear soone whispering,

It seed to be the sa person from the sound, engaged in so kind of research.

They quickly reached the topmost floor of the hospital, where there were no wards but a larger ’Light Room’, the strong light source should have brought extre heat, but ironically, the closer they got to the top, the more the temperature plumted.

The light emitted was not warm but cold.

Yi Chen had a very bad feeling.

Click!

The iron door of the Light Room was opened, and intense white light flooded in, like cold hands stroking Yi Chen’s eyes, forcibly dilating his pupils.

When his pupils were fully dilated, the scene inside the Light Room beca clear.

Before him, the source of the lighthouse’s light wasn’t a device but a person, a person Yi Chen was very familiar with - Moon Trace Lorian.

He was stark naked, imprisoned within the Fresnel rotating lens, skewered by iron wires, spread out in a large character, with his entire skull removed, revealing a brain of pure silver.

Various probes inserted into different locations and depths of the brain, stimulating the deep-layer sickness function, made Lorian’s body emit intense moonlight, which was then refracted through the lens to illuminate the entire City of Evil for surveillance.

The First Disaster’s mouth clearly did not move, yet the voice directly resonated in Yi Chen and William’s minds,

"This is your friend, right?"

William imdiately responded, "Yes! Moon Scar Lorian, he was once my dear friend in the pathology, the origin of New Moon. With enough ti, he would surely beco a Plague Master in the future... Boss, you should treat Lorian well, he saved

before."

The boss extended a charred hand from under the cloak, gently touching the surface of the lens.

"He’s not perfect yet;

he’s still missing sothing. Do you know what it is?"

Again, William answered promptly, "It must be the ’Moon’!

The moon of the Old World that co-existed with Lorian, growing together... Unfortunately, when leaving the pathology, he left the moon behind, making him incomplete now."

"Do you have any ans to bring the moon over?"

"It’s quite difficult!

Boss, you know I’m a wanted man in the pathology, a Disaster.

Trying to go back to the pathology to retrieve the moon now, not to ntion the moon has a strong autonomy and wouldn’t let

take it, if the local Plague Master catches my scent, they would quickly besiege , even the entire Pathology World would reject .

As for Mr. Yi, he’s not skilled in spatial shift and isn’t too familiar with Lorian, so he can’t manage it either. Giving him the task to cut down the moon could be more plausible.

In my opinion, it’s only during a full-scale war, after killing enough Plague Masters, that I could take the opportunity to go to the pathology and transfer the moon to you, it should still be doable, right?

If I’m not wrong, the system upgrade you talked about in the eting, boss, is to utilize Lorian’s trait."

"Correct.

His research on the Illusion Dream Realm is quite mature. Once it combines with my STEM brain device, it will create an absolutely real and even higher world.

Moreover, Lorian himself is linked to an unknown and chaotic dream world, which intrigues

greatly.

There’s never been soone with such a high affinity with ;

it’s truly delightful. Let’s settle it this way for now, and once the great war begins, we’ll go fetch the moon.

Though, by then, I won’t need you anymore, I’ll personally retrieve the ’Moon’ co-existing with Lorian."

William quickly concurred, "Alright! At that ti, Yi Chen and I will join forces to kill enemies to ensure your plan is not disturbed, boss."

"Hmm, today’s information supply was quite good."

"Of course! Without your shelter, boss, who knows where I’d be wandering now.

I also hope to quickly wipe out those lowly, disgusting Plague Masters who lack self-awareness, to eliminate those self-important false gods, and to reach the new world you’ve created as soon as possible, boss."

As William’s tongue licked across his face, malicious intent like pus leaked out, which the First Disaster appreciated greatly.

Clink!

The sound of a tal spoon tapping against a cup suddenly echoed in their skulls.

In the blink of an eye,

The Light Room, radiating strong moonlight, beca an ordinary hall, with light emanating only from the square ceiling lamp here.

With his eyes open again, Yi Chen found himself sitting on the first floor of the building, the very place where the staff first brought him in, with a cup of coffee in front of him still steaming warmly.

However, beside him, there was no manager, only William.

"Phew~ Let’s go, Mr. Yi."

William stretched his body, pulling Yi Chen to leave the building.

"Was that just... an illusion?"

"Not quite, it should be called a ’System.’ This is the First Disaster’s ability, and it’s a ’domain’ I haven’t been able to decipher till now.

The reason he ordered to capture Lorian again is to make this system more perfect, and once combined with Lorian’s Illusion Dream Realm, perhaps the boundary between reality and illusion will be completely broken, without any flaws.

Looking forward to it..."

As William said this, his fingers gently slid over his lips, signaling to wait until they returned to the hotel to talk about other things, as they were still under surveillance.

Ring!

The hotel doors were pushed open.

William, with what seed like a normal face, suddenly broke into a cold sweat and collapsed onto the sofa.

"Too much pressure! This constant brain scanning is really challenging to deal with, any slight emotional fluctuation could be detected.

Mr. Yi, I suddenly kind of envy you for not having Madness Brain."

"Our thoughts were under surveillance during the eting and subsequent questioning?"

"Yes, it’s like having your entire brain scooped out and placed in front of the other side, with all the neural activity monitored."

Yi Chen was a bit surprised, "I must have had at least several thought fluctuations, was it because of you, William?"

"Who else? Otherwise, how would I be so exhausted... I reminded Mr. Yi multiple tis to follow

closely because it was necessary for you to stay within five ters of my vicinity to enjoy my ’performance field.’

As long as you are in the microfield released by my Madness Brain, I can make you appear as the First Disaster wants to see, an extrely pure and murderous murderer.

It’s been a painstaking two years of going to tall buildings that I was finally able to find such a subtle loophole.

For all my hard work, Yi Bao you need to help

properly slay the Fourth Disaster, if we can’t kill it, we are headed for utter ruin."
