Chapter 889: 887: The Endless Hotel

In the guest room, Jin is still sleeping.

Yi Chen, Lorrian, and Reagan are sitting around in the suite’s living room, jointly using different mories to conduct a sand table simulation, attempting to find out the cause of their predicant.

They soon obtain so key information.

Everyone’s mory confusion began after [Gathering] and before [Killing the Rain Man], indicating that "the death of the Rain Man" evidently had so kind of impact.

Was it that the Rain Man cursed everyone before his death,

or did the Rain Man’s death beco so sort of inducent, attracting sothing even more terrifying to the doorstep?

The reason it hasn’t attacked everyone directly is perhaps because dayti in this world belongs to the ’safety ti zone,’ at most allowing the opposite side to perform so form of guidance, and the result of this guidance is this [unknown hotel].

The danger officially arrives now, with the nightfall.

Reagan presents his thought, "If we can escape the hotel, maybe we can rid ourselves of all this."

Upon hearing this thought, Lorrian is disdainful.

"We’re already involved in the ga, and you still want to retreat completely? At least as the user of the Moon Phase Illusion, I cannot let the participants in the ga escape so easily.

According to my experience in setting illusions, so sort of rule is operating within the hotel, and the ti we’ve been experiencing is constantly cycling;

only when we trigger certain conditions, will the real danger officially begin.

This is more like [preparation ti].

According to my observation, accepting the ’handbook’ offered by the service staff is likely the triggering condition.

If we continue to refuse the first acceptance, we’ll be trapped in this ti loop, cycling infinitely within three hours, unable to leave."

Yi Chen listens to the opinions given by the two, still inclining his head toward Reagan, "Why not use the android to see if it can escape through the window?"

"A waste of ti."

Despite his dissatisfied words, Lorrian’s gaze still wanders toward the android preparing to climb out the window,

since he has never felt the illusions of others from beginning to end, and his sensing with the moon is also normal. What is happening here might not be an illusion but reality.

If escaping is possible, it would indeed be great.

However, when the android climbs out the window, Reagan suddenly freezes entirely.

After a mont of waiting, he says slowly, "Lorrian was right, we’ve already entered the ga, completely erging from this hotel is impossible."

"What did you see..." Yi Chen is sowhat puzzled, considering everything appears normal outside from his viewpoint in the room, it’s just a city pitch-black due to the curfew.

"Mr. Yi, you just need to stick your head out and take a look."

Reagan’s connection with the android has already been severed,

Yi Chen approaches the window warily, letting himself be shrouded in death in advance, even if he sticks out his head only to be beheaded, it does not matter.

When his head extends outside the window, it’s as if breaking through a thin layer of paper.

The cityscape seen from within the room instantly vanishes,

opposite the window stands a hotel that completely obscures the view,

and furthermore, a head is sticking out from the sa room window across, currently glancing this way.

Upon taking a closer look, it seems exactly the sa face as Yi Chen’s, with the sa expression of astonishnt.

Calmly, Yi Chen slowly extends his arm, while the person across the hotel also extends their arm, their movents perfectly mirroring.

Then, Yi Chen directly inserts his hand into his brain, pulling out a skull from the Dead Sea, emitting a strong scent of death.

Such a skull can only be found in the Dead Sea, others cannot produce it, only Yi Chen, the sole disciple, has the qualification to retrieve it.

Indeed, the situation has changed!

The ’imitator’ opposite spends ages rummaging through their head but fails to obtain sothing equivalent to the Dead Sea skull,

Suddenly, the frustrated imitator begins frantically ripping off their face, exposing a smooth faceless surface akin to a boiled egg.

The opposite side stops mimicking Yi Chen’s movents and starts shaking their arm in a fixed pattern, as if greeting or bidding farewell.

Suddenly, Yi Chen’s killing intent surges!

Like throwing a baseball, he throws the Death Skull with a spiral force towards the faceless guest opposite.

A bizarre incident occurs, Yi Chen hastily blocks with both hands in front!

Slam!

The skull he threw returns to his side, barely caught with both hands, while the faceless person in the opposite window continues shaking their arm at a constant pace, seemingly unconcerned about being struck.

"Is it a space problem?"

Montarily restraining his killing intent, Yi Chen stops focusing on the faceless guest opposite. He turns his head to observe both sides of his hotel and the one across.

The scenery next witnessed will be unforgettable for Yi Chen, with both hotels’ external structures completely identical, painted in purple and extending endlessly.

Rows of equidistant windows stretch toward the far end, limitless.

Looking upwards reveals the sa, the hotel’s height shooting straight toward the clouds, with no end in sight.

Only the view downward seems relatively normal, below approximately ten stories is a bustling street...but Yi Chen’s perception fails to reach the pedestrians below, so inscrutable repulsive force makes it hard for his perception to spread out from the window.

"Reagan, should we let your created android jump and see?"

"I’ve already had him jump down...at the mont of landing, the connection was directly severed, as if swallowed and chewed by sothing entirely~Choosing [jumping] isn’t an option."

Yi Chen finally retracts his head, returning gravely to his seat.

The previously disdainful Lorrian also approaches the window and leans out. Who would have thought, the moon, previously normally sensed, disappears instantly, completely concealed by the towering hotel.

’What thod is this...’

A negative mindset begins to form within Lorrian’s heart, thinking that tonight everyone will likely die here.

Reagan creates another android and says, "Since the exit through the window is not feasible, let’s try directly leaving the guest room..."

To ensure the spirit isn’t invasively invaded, the connection between Reagan and the android is fully cut off, only receiving visual and audio information sent back by the android.

Three pieces of information are quickly obtained.

1. The stairway at the end of the corridor, regardless of which floor it goes to, eventually returns to the current floor. The elevator shaft outside has an infinite distance whether rising or descending, unable to escape.

2. Current floor’s other guest rooms don’t exist, forcibly opening other guest room doors leads to cent-sealed walls, even using a laser to burn 103 ters deep still cannot reach the bottom.

3. The staircase marked with a safe passage shines red light. Once the android enters, it imdiately disconnects from Reagan, no information can be transmitted back, akin to the situation with jumping off.

All conceivable ’exits’ have been closed off, locking everyone within a fixed space.

And as Lorrian ntioned, now feels like the [preparation ti] before the ga formally starts,

once so condition is triggered, the real ga will arrive, danger will officially descend, perhaps that elusive exit will also appear.

Everyone gathers in the living room again,

"Shall we accept the so-called handbook when the service staff next cos around?"

Lorrian, adept at illusion techniques, knows that once you choose to align with the creator of the illusion’s thought, there is only deeper entrenchnt. However, given the current circumstances, he cannot find a breakthrough strategy.

While everyone montarily remains without opinions, forced to wait for the service staff’s next arrival,

Ring ring ring! A faint yet urgent ringing sounds, seemingly from deep within the hotel.

For an unknown reason, upon hearing this ringing, everyone feels a sense of salvation rise within, as if locating the source of this ringing can lead to escape, perhaps even escape from the current world.

Yi Chen interlocks his ten fingers, pressing them against his nose, looking at the two before him, "Shall we gamble?"

"What do you intend to do, Mr. Yi?"

As Yi Chen prepares to articulate his desperate strategy, Jin, not woken by any previous noise, begins slowly waking due to this faint ringing.

"Hey! Could anyone shut off the alarm, it’s so loud!

By the way, why are you all gathered over there, you seem quite tense, is there any problem you’ve encountered? Do you need my help?"
