Chapter 796: 794: Conversation in the Realm of Death

A special "Skull Island" had temporarily erged amidst the black sea that should have been free of any debris, due to an invasion of an alternative form of death,

constructed entirely of pure skeletons with a seemingly endless deep pit at its center, like a new abyss.

Yi Chen, left with nothing but his skull, relied on the skeleton body provided by the island itself and had been crawling downward for an unknown length of ti.

Due to the high fragility of the skeletal body, the stress endured during the crawling process kept increasing, making the repair and replacent of bones a necessary procedure,

and as ti passed, this process had beco as natural as breathing, as if Yi Chen regarded the entire island’s bones as ’air,’ using them freely.

Yi Chen had forgotten his original physical form and regarded these bones, even the entire island, as part of his body, no longer caring about so-called completeness or uniqueness.

Who knows how much ti had passed,

Yi Chen had even forgotten what he was doing, forgotten death itself.

Tap~

His foot touched the ground, finally reaching the lowest level, where his lifeless eyes gradually regained focus.

Since Skull Island floated in the Black Sea, the very bottom of this Bone Abyss was covered with a shallow layer of seawater, just above the ankles.

Most importantly, there was soone sitting below.

A white-haired man with an upper body bare, his lower half wrapped in a plain white battle skirt, and a special skull hanging at his waist, handso and resolute.

His eyes, filled with a white plague, were gazing sideways at the white-maned horse crouching beside him, whose flesh was visible, but its bones were exposed, each rib wrapping around the body of the horse like armor.

After briefly stroking the horse, he finally turned his gaze towards Yi Chen.

"Is this pitch-dark sea the origin of your death? Its breadth and depth far exceed the Death Plague, likely created by one or even several gods associated with death, far surpassing my inherent understanding of death.

Oddly, none of the outer world invaders who attacked the Old World used such death abilities, or else I might have been killed back then.

Is your god not widely worshipped in the outer world?

Please, have a seat! After all, this is a Consciousness Space temporarily created through your understanding of death... I am just an ’outsider’ after all."

Yi Chen stepped forward sowhat surprised and sat cross-legged in front of the other man.

The image of the white-haired man in front of him perfectly matched the rumors Yi Chen had heard from others,

This man was in fact the first commander of the Death Plague Knights, once regarded as the foremost under the king, the only Death Plague Knight who had developed an alternative form of death,

and during the war, he instilled fear in the invaders, making all thods used against him unable to kill him, ultimately forcing the invaders to use extre asures to invade his mind, rendering him mad.

[White Reaper—Balon Casas, the White Death]

"Regarding how many worship my death divinity, I am not sure either, I only know that most people cannot accept this blessing.

Mr. Balon, it seems you understand the divine system of the outside world quite well?"

"Of course, after all, I killed quite a number of people on the battlefield.

Their mories were mostly sealed, but I still discovered many interesting things. As for you, being from the outer world, why would you combine with a Parasite, powerful enough to compare with the Holy Nest Protozoa?

Also, I can sll the scent of ho on you, though faint, but definitely the Death Plague and even from the Original Tomb... it indicates that you have been there and might even have seen My Lord.

Briefly explain your origin. While I find you interesting, if you purely co from the outer world, I will still be resistant to share my death with you."

Yi Chen simply said, "I ca to this world for so reason, precisely speaking, by the edge world infected and assimilated by the Sick Focus.

After a comparably long ti of exploration, I slowly made contact with the Old World. That’s all it is."

"Ha~" Balon couldn’t help but give a slight laugh, showing increasing interest in the young man in front of him, "Unwilling to share even a bit of personal privacy?

Anyway, you at least have to tell how you managed to get this heavily damaged body, with over 50% conceptual loss, right?"

"Evil... That was sothing I tried to eradicate before I ca to this world. Unfortunately, my eradication could only prevent the surface, the real evil had already been breeding over there."

Yi Chen did not hide this fact and explained in detail the events that occurred at Lung Mountain.

These remarks piqued Balon’s interest considerably, "Divine status flooding, the proliferation of evil... Did those self-righteous folks really brew such a massive blunder? And now they want us to help clean up this ss. Interesting.

"Since part of your stance leans towards our Pathology World, that works~ Next, we can have a good exchange about the experiences of death, as for the ’minor injuries’ on your body, they are trivial given the depth where you are now."

Yi Chen still maintained so caution; he didn’t fully trust the man before him, but sohow... perhaps because both were perceivers of death, Yi Chen found himself speaking more and was internally willing to communicate with this person.

"Mr. Balon, I’ve heard rumors about you... I heard that you went mad during that war, and that you killed many, many people, which led to your imprisonnt in the deepest part of the Monastery."

Balon nodded straightforwardly in acknowledgnt, "Indeed, my mind was completely disturbed by those outsiders and suffered nearly irreversible ’brain concept damage.’

The brain, as the nurturer and bearer of our consciousness, once it sustains such conceptual damage, can’t delve into death rationally like you are doing now and search for ways to nd.

However, the folks from the Old World are quite loyal. Even though I killed a vast number of people due to ntal derangent and committed heinous cris, even the world’s assessnt regarded

as ’harmful to the world’s developnt, and possibly a destructive elent to the world.’

The Monastery, while imprisoning , still tried to find ways to help

recover.

They used various ans and even had the Teeth Hall assist, but still made no significant progress... until a Great Prison Monk nad Xia Dati dared to co to the ’Endless’ to provide long-term psychological treatnt, talking with

for at least six hours every day.

Though they couldn’t nd the brain’s concepts, it slowly stabilized my thoughts.

Unfortunately, she seed to trust

too much..."

As this topic ca up, Yi Chen caught a subtle change in Balon’s expression.

"You killed her, didn’t you?"

Yi Chen’s sudden interjection was sowhat unexpected; proposing such a possibility could trigger a complete breakdown in a madman, quite dangerous indeed.

But Balon showed no anger or emotional fluctuation, only speaking blandly, "Yes, I killed her... Therefore, I asked the Prison Director to execute

completely, for a flawed danger like

there was no need to continue living.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if it was because the Prison Director truly lacked the ans, or if He still wanted to give

another chance, I was executed by a special thod and left at the critical point of complete death.

As a result, my consciousness and the entire Endless Area’s prison rged~ it seed as if the prison itself filled the gaps in my brain, as if Xia Dati’s long-term psychological treatnt finally took effect, and my thought process stabilized during the ti my mind rged with the prison.

Although I can’t say it’s completely stable, the ’Endless Prison’ acts as a suitable patch for my brain.

The reason you managed to reach

here, besides your own factors, I guess, was also because the Prison Director intentionally let things slide, wanting to test my condition with you."

Yi Chen simply nodded,

He had deliberately touched on Balon’s sore point just now; the absence of any emotional fluctuation was enough to show a stable ntal state, allowing the communication to continue here. .

"Young man, you seem not very fond of chatting... You ca here at all costs, probably because you wished to retrieve the concept you lost."

Yi Chen nodded in response, "Yes, it seems to

that by reaching a sufficient depth of death, perhaps I could retrieve the concept."

"No..." Balon directly shook his head in denial, "Death only destroys and ends everything; it does not construct everything as life does.

A broken concept cannot be consolidated through death, nor is there such a thing as retrieval.

Those outsiders who use death to continue ’regenerating’ are just simply repeating the process of death; they are too timid, afraid to confront death, afraid to fall into it."

"What should I do?"

"I am death, who needs the physical... You must have deeply experienced it while descending into this abyss, right? We don’t need the so-called concept of physical bodies at all, we are death itself, everything related to death shall beco our vessel.

Now that you have reached this depth and can communicate with , you no longer need the so-called concept of a physical body, the death of this world is enough to bear your thoughts.

If you wish to have a humanoid body to express your inherent form, just grab a few bones."

These words were like an awakening, making Yi Chen suddenly widen his eyes and deeply bow to the man before him.
