Dream Layer Twelve (adjacent to the final layer near Nightmare Town).

The complexity of this layer has peaked, still modeled after the interior passageways of a power station.

The spatial-physical structure is utterly chaotic, with various Penrose stairs and arbitrary doors linking the interactive spaces together.

An ordinary squad would quickly get lost within it;

decrypting it could take days, if not a week.

However, the special squad that arrived here took only twenty minutes to observe and contemplate the spatial structure before analyzing the dream route with complete accuracy.

The one who finished the structure analysis was known as “The Dual-Faced Union – Marko and Martin,” more precisely, it was “Rear-Face Marko” who accomplished this task;

“Front-Face Martin” hadn’t yet revealed himself.

Marko and Martin rank fourth in prestige within the circles of Prophets, behind only Principal Desline from the O.C.A, Yuri from Cesimani, and the old man skilled at listening to others’ inner thoughts, Enio Bargas.

Yet, he is one of the rare Prophets who possesses both foreknowledge and strength.

Currently, he is the captain of this spearhead squad.

However, the so-called captain simply ans he is the decision-maker of the team, whose division of labor is extrely clear;

every mber, including the death row inmate, has their respective roles.

Any single individual could hold their own within an organization.

The team consists of 5 1 mbers.

1. Prophet Marko and Martin lead the way, responsible for deciphering the dream space and guiding the path,

Illness: “Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)”

2. The second in line is the team’s “death row inmate” who facilitated the False Moon incident, using living people to manufacture the “Dusk Thin Silver Liquid,” Doctor Macaul.

Illness: “Psoriatic Arthritis”

In the dream space, his projection is an elderly man with a small stature, a round, bulbous head, and sparse hair, wearing glasses nearly embedded in his eye sockets.

His skin surface is overlaid with nurous silver patches, related to his own illness and research on Dusk Thin Silver Liquid.

His cris mainly stem from his near-mad research on secret dicine;

in terms of dical skill, he could be rated in the top ten among doctors.

Before the truth was revealed, so people would ntion him in the sa breath as Principal Dis from Levinho, known as “the Divine Doctors of Sun and Moon.”

Now, the Sun has perished, and the Moon shows its decay.

When his Consciousness was projected into the dream space and he learned from the team mbers that he might regain his freedom, he imdiately expressed a strong willingness to cooperate.

He declared that if anyone in the team was injured, even if they needed regeneration of limbs or organs, he could quickly complete it.

He was so eager for freedom that it didn’t matter if his brain was placed in a Prosthetic that was just like an ordinary person;

he would be completely content as long as he could continue researching dicine.

Doctor Macaul, unlike other team’s death row inmates who either wore shackles or had gags for critical restrictions, appeared completely free on the surface, not equipped with any limiting devices.

Still, he was instructed to follow closely behind the Prophet, not to exceed two ters in non-combat situations, and was under the constant watch of “Front-Face Martin” during the exploration of the dream space.

3. The third team mber gives off a rather strange feeling, his body covered in loose skin, resembling soone who was extrely overweight and then succeeded in losing fat quickly, leaving the floppy skin on the body.

Were it not for the sleeping garnt’s restriction, the loose skin would hang down like a skirt.

Even with the body covered by the sleeping garnt, his face had substantial excess wrinkling,

The drooping eyelids almost covering his eyes, with three layers of skin hanging beneath his cheeks.

His identity is also quite special;

besides the team mbers and the high levels of the Organization, not many people recognize him.

His personal file is classified as a high-level secret;

even team mbers only know of an outdated identity of his, that of a Divine Servant at the Original God Skin Mansion. For so reason, he was transferred out of the mansion and is secretly involved in various activities within the Organization, with few aware of what he does.

Even soone like Doctor Macaul, a silver-colored demon, would occasionally glance back because of the mysterious person walking behind him.

Illness: ??

4. The woman who emitted high temperatures all over her body had red hair that floated in the air like flas, and she bore the stern face of a director of education. Anyone who caught a glimpse of her would want to duck away, definitely not wanting to provoke her.

Her clothing was also heat-resistant sleepwear specially made by the Power Station, mostly dark red in color.

She was associated with the organization’s Clearance Departnt, specifically responsible for the suppression of malignant incidents and the cleaning up of areas infected by severe plagues.

Romary Tahan, the deputy captain of the Clearance Departnt, was from Cesimani.

Disease: “Thermoplegia”

5. The mber who walked in the fifth position had a sleep suit that only covered a little over 15% of his body while the rest of his exposed flesh revealed perfect chanical prosthetics.

Kimberly Cabrella, deputy director of the Power Station Research Institute, was the first person to undergo prosthetic modification and also the first man to introduce prosthetic integration into the realm of thinking.

For this reason, his projection in the dream space still maintained his chanical prosthetics.

He was the one who best understood the ladder theory that Reagan proposed. Because of his existence, the squad was able to create ladders quickly and steadily, advancing rapidly in tandem with the Prophet’s explorations.

Moreover, he was capable of maximizing the transformation of his prosthetics in the dream world.

Illness: “Chronic thyl-rcury Poisoning”

6. He was the last one in the squad, staying at the rear of the team.

Compared to the death row inmate – Doctor Macaul, so in the team were more concerned about his presence, and to a certain extent, he could also be defined as a ‘death row inmate,’ only spared by so of the power holders valuing his strength.

After a comprehensive capability assessnt by the organization, he was designated “Special Record Combat Power,” reserved for potential catastrophic events that might lead to the organization’s extinction.

Hogni Zed

Disease: “Fibromyalgia Syndro”

Zed spent the entire journey crawling at the end. He had discarded his sleep suit very early, converting his own skin into a tactile feedback device.

Feeling the nightmares, quickly adapting to everything, he even got a sense of blending into it all.

After an hour of exploration, the squad reached a dead-end passageway via a Penrose stair that flipped over.

All mbers stood in front of the dead end, with Kimberly, the deputy director, extending his chanical palm to press against the wall.

A rcury-like liquid tal imdiately diffused out, rapidly creating a “Nightmare Staircase.”

This ti, it was not in the form of a staircase, but a tallic door.

After a visual confirmation with the Prophet, Kimberly pushed open the door… The previously enclosed scene dissipated completely, and the group erged onto a spacious highway.

There were noises of insects coming from the grass that stood over two ters tall on either side of the road,

Old street lamps set at intervals of a hundred ters maintained a constant glow, providing limited illumination in the pitch-black night.

Looking down the street, the view was completely blocked by a thick fog about two hundred ters away;

a conspicuous billboard erected with huge wooden boards could also be seen by the roadside.

On it, there was a giant smiling face and a slogan that read, “Welco to Nightmare Town.”

“Have we finally reached the core of the nightmare? Everyone, brace yourselves… We should soon encounter the real crisis of the nightmare in the town ahead.”

It was still Marko and Martin leading the way in front, walking backward.

As they approached the town, the fog grew thicker, and the Nightmare Eyes hidden in the dark quietly spied on these outsiders.
