Chapter 298: Gentlen, Death Row Inmate and Nightmare

Four elite gentlen dressed in “sleepwear,” although they had already negotiated terms with Breeder Blanklin at the very start of their dreaming,

as long as their team could excavate so useful information from the nightmares, after the mission Blanklin would gain control over his prosthetics and would no longer have to be imrsed in a liquid container.

Moreover, they also received a verbal commitnt from Blanklin, promising not to cause trouble and to assist seriously.

However, they still harbored great prejudice against Blanklin.

During the early stages, unfamiliar with the infinite cycles of the dream space, they often failed to create the stairs, causing frustration. During these episodes of agitation, they could always hear the sound of grease dripping from Blanklin’s body, the sweat footprints left on the ground, and the increase in body odor due to physical heat dissipation, which only added to their contradictions.

Given Blanklin’s greasy, massive physique, a sense of aversion began to rise in the hearts of each team mber.

This aversion increased over ti and as the nightmare layers accumulated.

It began with their tone becoming harsher,

Gradually, so started to refer to Blanklin not by his na, but as “Fat Pig.”

They began to demand that Blanklin control his body’s grease secretion, but he said he couldn’t do it, as secreting grease was like breathing to him, an involuntary action.

He had always secreted grease but relied on his gentleman’s clothes to absorb it.

Once the storage capacity of the clothes was full, he would secretly find a place to dispose of it or collect it in oil drums to sell to shops in the lower zones.

Eventually, annoyance turned into disgust and hostility, for they believed that a person as sinful and devoid of character as Blanklin would definitely not cooperate honestly with them,

Perhaps due to the constant inhalation of nightmare substances within the dream space, team mbers even hallucinated scenes of Blanklin suddenly rebelling, allying with nightmare creatures to massacre them and create a horrific human-pig totem.

Ultimately, on the captain’s suggestion, a gentleman whose profession was “Tar” created a binding collar, which was directly placed around Blanklin’s neck, also providing ntal taming to prevent any betrayal.

When the collar was made, the team mbers were ready to forcefully put it on Blanklin,

unexpectedly, he did not resist at all and even actively took the collar and put it on himself, having sensed their intentions beforehand.

Even as he felt the taming thoughts transmitted through the rope by the Tar, he did not resist and let the other establish both physical and ntal double constraints on him.

Such a deford relationship within the team was also observed by Yi Chen.

However, so of these impacts were also facilitated by him.

The nightmare effect continued to spread here, with a large maze designed after an orphanage gradually leading the team astray.

Unconsciously inhaling a large amount of nightmare substances, their minds beca increasingly sensitive, but their ability to capture details and recognize directions beca increasingly blurred.

Any attempt by the team to create “Nightmare Stairs” was preemptively disrupted by Yi Chen, the main entity of the nightmare, making the creation ineffective or the stairs produced extrely unstable.

Yi Chen was like a child handling a new toy, and as his proficiency with the dreamscape increased, he began to “dream in real-ti.”

He introduced multiple mirrors at certain crossroads to increase misleading effects, successfully splitting up the team mbers.

Except for Tar Bu Qi and Breeder Blanklin who were connected via the neck lock, all other personnel were split into individuals,

Yi Chen handled this inducing process effortlessly, clearly not like a newcor to becoming a nightmare.

Power Station

Technicians responsible for monitoring team four (Breeder’s brain) suddenly intercepted abnormal brainwave signals transmitted by the mbers during their dreaming.

Before they could decrypt the signals,

the team’s captain and two other mbers woke up sequentially.

However, on their faces, no signs of panic were visible, it seed as if they hadn’t experienced any nightmares. Calmly, they unplugged the dreaming devices and began to report their dream experiences in an orderly fashion.

The last part of their report was quite contradictory;

all claid that after getting lost in the maze, they saw each other again, but the ways they t were all different.

In no ti, under the influence of the ‘other’s’ actions and words, they gave up the mission and committed suicide.

For so reason, they had a quite strong desire to commit suicide at that ti.

A simple compilation of their statents concluded that the ‘others’ they encountered after being dispersed were nightmares fictitiously crafted, possibly even perfect impostures by the nightmare entity itself.

However,

while the three had already exited the dream, both the central brain Breeder Blanklin and Tar Bu Qi were still in the dream, showing no signs of exiting anyti soon.

Suddenly, technicians intercepted abnormal brain waves from both of them, differing from the previous three. The decoded brainwave ssages related to being attacked in the dream rather than to suicide.

[Dreamscape – Sixth Layer]

In the space transford into an orphanage-style maze by Yi Chen.

Blanklin, with a collar around his neck, was sitting in the corridor resting, his body already covered with a layer of grease, giving off a sensation of seeping downward.

The other end of the collar was connected to the right hand of the tar Bu Qi by a tal rope, a burly Northern European man with a thick beard.

Although he stood at a height of one hundred and ninety centiters and possessed a strong physique, he could not compare to breeder Blanklin in terms of physical build.

The latter’s towering stature of about two ters and fifty centiters, combined with his layers of corpulence, looked like a mountain of flesh.

Compared to the threat of the nightmare itself, Tar Bu Qi paid more attention to Blanklin, fearing that this butcher might chop him up like pork.

Unable to create stairs and completely lost, he had long harbored thoughts of abandoning the Nightmare Exploration.

Just then,

a series of footsteps ca from around the corner of the corridor ahead, and out walked the ‘Captain’ in his sleepwear.

“Phew~ I finally found you, Bu Qi, Blanklin!

Luckily, you both stayed put and didn’t move, I’ve found the crucial issue here.

The space we are currently in changes with our movents, and under the manipulation of the nightmare, we will never et if everyone starts moving.

I hope the other two guys also stayed put like you, co with , let’s quickly find them.”

When Tar Bu Qi saw the arrival of the Captain, the pressure that had almost filled his heart was released, and he stood up to follow the Captain.

Suddenly, a mass of greasy flesh blocked his path – it was Blanklin, whose mountainous body almost completely obscured his view.

“Fat pig, what are you doing?”

“Be careful, Mr. Bu Qi… this one is probably not our Captain.”

As soon as he finished speaking,

a brass fra appeared above Blanklin’s head, the top carved with a pig’s head, the fra filled with a type of fatty oil… a small segnt of pathogen essence was directly consud.

Pop!

The fat on Blanklin’s body suddenly fell off, transforming into two pign who, with gaping mouths, pounced toward the ‘Captain’ to devour him.

Tar Bu Qi wanted to stop this action but found that the taming signal he sent was blocked by layers of fat, completely unable to affect Blanklin’s brain.

As the pign were about to gnaw on the Captain’s flesh,

Swish!

Two black tentacles suddenly pierced through the bodies of the pign, suspending them in the air, and the injection of the Death Black Liquid rapidly turned the pign into skeletons, eventually crumbling into dust.

The Captain’s complexion turned grim, and black liquid seeped from his five orifices as he let out a terrifying sound:

“As expected of a death row inmate, you must be a double breakthrough in both ‘Physique’ and ‘Sensing’… but tell , how did you see through my disguise?”

Blanklin replied naively:

“Sweat sll… Captain Ross, although outwardly calm during the nightmare operation, beca increasingly nervous as the levels increased, particularly after arriving at this vast and bizarre maze area, and he sweated profusely.

His sweat slt of sea salt and pork mixed with extra salt, sowhat salty, although you also mimicked so sweat, the sll was different, yours had a stench of the dead and was not very salty.”

As he spoke,

the liquid in the fra above Blanklin’s head once again diminished, only this ti, he no longer morphed into pign but fortified himself.

His body thickened, and terrifying fangs erged,

Pop! The collar around his neck was suddenly split open.

The once naive and simple man had transford into a terrifying pigman, his right hand holding a totem made from nurous human bodies.

Blanklin did not launch an attack imdiately but turned his head towards Tar Bu Qi.

“Mr. Bu Qi, let’s join forces to deal with the nightmare entity before us. Collect as much information from it as possible, so we can fulfill the requirents of the Nightmare Exploration mission.”

Bu Qi was montarily stunned,

and for a mont, his negative emotions towards Blanklin cleared, and his hands grew tallic luster-whips, “Alright! I’ll cooperate with you.”
