Private dining room.

The stack of plates in front of Reagan had surpassed the height of his head.

His three-hour nightmare journey had brought him a significant amount of physical and ntal exhaustion,

According to Reagan himself, due to his profession and the combined effect of the electronic spine worm, he could directly convert fat into various forms of energy for imdiate use, making the accumulation of daily fat essential.

However, in Yi Chen’s view, it always felt like an excuse.

After the al, the two discussed the “Nightmare Staircase,” and Yi Chen was utterly shocked when he finally understood the principle behind Reagan’s creation of it.

It had to be said that Reagan’s creativity and perception were unparalleled, and such talent would undoubtedly be a top student in Yi Chen’s pre-life world.

Reagan also stated that he had work to do tonight, as he would be reviewing the nightmare to strive for optimizing the best staircase manufacturing sche.

The team disbanded and rested at the entrance of the restaurant.

No sooner had Reagan left than Jin grasped Yi Chen’s arm and tugged him towards the other end of the street.

“You don’t have to go back to school tonight~ The nightmare drained a lot of energy, just co over to my place. It’s okay to go straight to sleep if you’re tired.

We haven’t had any effective ‘communication’ since your breakthrough.”

Unable to refuse Jin’s warm invitation, he could only follow her to the apartnt building where she lived.

Regarding the nightmare card, it was fine to take care of it tomorrow, as there was no specific ti marked on it anyway. Today was indeed a bit tiring, and it was only reasonable to relax a bit.

Oddly enough,

on their way to the apartnt building, Yi Chen felt more than once a sense of being watched from the shadows,

and the ordinary people he occasionally glimpsed out of the corner of his eye seed to bear strange smiles,

such as the shopkeeper standing inside the doorway, showing only half his face, the passerby who happened to walk through the crossroad and glanced back, or the mysterious tenant who stealthily watched the street from the window of a residential building.

However,

whenever Yi Chen switched his peripheral vision to the main viewpoint, the person would either walk away or not be smiling at all.

This bizarre situation forced Yi Chen to wake up the resting Little Grape and have it activate a 360° panoramic view. The eeriness subsequently vanished, with no trace of any smiles at all.

“Is it the aftereffect of consuming the tentacles raw and willingly venturing deep into the nightmare? Forget it, I won’t delve into it today;

tomorrow I’ll just bring the nightmare card and find soone.”

As the two ascended the stairwell of the apartnt building, Jin seed to think of sothing delightful, quickly skipping up the stairs and jokingly gesturing to Yi Chen below as she walked backwards.

“William! I’ve learned a brand new thod of creating flesh at the Cancer Palace, with a compressive efficiency more than ten tis the previous one.

According to the master, as long as one could make this perfect cancerous material, even if I were severely wounded, a single atball would be enough for a complete recovery.

However, I can only produce a semi-finished product at the mont. If you could assist, William, there might be sothing exciting in it! I’ll give you a few when the ti cos;

the effects might even be better than the secret dicine.”

“Alright, I’ll try to help~ Jin, be careful!”

At that mont, two kids, both born in Zion, one older and one younger, were playing with iron balls on the staircase, and one of them was heading at high speed toward Jin’s head.

However,

with her coordination and perception maxed out, Jin suddenly reached her palm behind her head and caught the iron ball just in ti.

Moreover, her palm was covered with a layer of cancerous tissue,

completely separate from her body, which could effectively isolate any toxins or pathogens on the surface of the sphere.

“Who threw this?”

Jin turned around with a stern face, even showing so killing intent.

Yet the mischievous children on the staircase showed no fear at all, instead maintaining a smiling deanor as they quickly admitted to throwing it.

After returning the iron ball, Jin suddenly placed her hand on the tops of the kids’ heads, gently patting them.

At that mont, Yi Chen’s expression soured, and he had even imagined a terrible scenario in which the troublemaking kids exploded on the spot.

He wanted to verbally intervene, but in the end, swallowed his words.

There was no explosion. Jin simply patted their heads and continued upstairs.

The two kids didn’t show any unusual reactions;

they resud playing ball in the stairwell,

When Yi Chen caught up, Jin suddenly turned around, slightly lifted his mask, and stuck out his tongue,

“You look so nervous~ You couldn’t possibly think I was going to kill those two kids, right…? It’s not such a big deal. But well, as a little punishnt, I’ve implanted a benign brain tumor in their heads.

You feel it too, don’t you, William? These kids are a bit off, but you can’t quite put your finger on what’s weird about them.

During the interaction, I didn’t sense anything unusual, and I implanted the benign tumor to serve a surveillance purpose;

the tumor will disappear on its own after a year.”

“Hmm, it is a bit strange, could be post-nightmare syndro, or maybe there really is a problem… Since you’ve left a way to monitor them, I’ll leave it be.”

As the two reached the top floor of the apartnt, they passed by a rental room from which bursts of unsettling laughter suddenly emanated.

As Yi Chen was contemplating how to investigate the situation,

Jin directly kicked the door open with one foot, revealing within the disorderly room, two gentlen piled atop the sofa in a very odd position.

Both n had similar traits, skewed towards physical deformation, entangled in a bizarre and even sowhat comical manner. Due to the pressure between their bodies, the laughter sounded quite strange.

These two n didn’t have any actual issues, and upon facing Jin’s sudden intrusion, they shot hostile glances his way.

But as soon as they clearly saw the iconic mask on Jin’s face, they chickened out, imdiately indicating they would keep it down and avoid making too much noise.

“So they are indeed a bit sensitive, eh?”

Jin rapped his head forcefully, the passion inside him dissipating significantly due to the incident in the corridor.

Evening, candlelight, bedroom.

In the narrow room filled with faux at, the air was inexplicably stuffy, and both Yi Chen and Jin took off their outerwear, hanging their ties on the door, unbuttoning so of their shirt buttons, and rolling up their sleeves.

Their palms interlaced, together they cradled and rubbed the at on the turntable, similar to the shaping stage in pottery crafting.

In the anti,

Jin kept adding more at, while Yi Chen had to maintain constant size of the at through precise muscle control, gradually increasing the strength in his palms.

Drip, drip~ Sweat continually fell from the hairline.

After a full five hours of hard work, a nearly finished ‘Cancer Tumor’ was created.

Ruddy and pinkish,

Perfectly round and flawless,

It looked only the size of a ping-pong ball, yet when picked up, it weighed nearly a hundred pounds.

Once swallowed, this thing would proliferate superfast inside the body, providing unimaginable physical energy. Yi Chen dared not swallow it carelessly, after all, tumors of this kind, only Jin could handle.

Holding the sphere in his hand for a long ti, Jin suddenly hopped over and hugged Yi Chen tightly.

“Wow! It’s almost indistinguishable from the real thing~ Thank you, William! Next ti you’re free, co over and help

roll a few more balls… That’s enough for tonight, I’m so sleepy!”

The makeshift rental still had only one mattress in the living room,

After the day’s various activities, coupled with the intense concentration of mind and body rubbing atballs throughout most of the night, Yi Chen’s fatigue peaked.

Using his overcoat as a blanket, he flopped down and fell asleep.

Jin lay on her side next to him, propping her head with one hand, gazing at Yi Chen’s face through the mask, and she too started yawning, overwheld by fatigue.

Just as Jin was extracting herself from the joy of at crafting, preparing to embrace Yi Chen and sleep together,

Hum!

A sensation ca through, the very one from the cancer cells in those two kids’ heads!

And the sensation was close, as if the two kids were standing right at the doorstep, tiptoeing and peeping inside through the door viewer.

“Hm? Too absorbed in making at to notice?”

Jin lost her temper, one hand rested on her spine ready to draw her sword, the other slowly pushed the door open.

Indeed,

The two kids were peeking at the door,

Yet Jin didn’t draw her flesh sword from her back, and the reason was simple… the brats were dead, their bodies missing, only their heads hung at the door.

Jin imdiately scattered thin lines everywhere, covering the entire apartnt building, but she could detect nothing!
