Hippocrates Hospital

Four gentlen, sitting in wheelchairs with special breathing apparatus attached to their faces and tubes inserted into their necks and wrists, were sealed in an isolation chamber, undergoing “Nightmare Exploration (Trial).”

Outside the isolation room,

Principal Gregory Alaus, Deputy Principal Andre Vissari, and other important figures of the hospital stood monitoring the entire process.

The select group of elite gentlen included two who were interning at the hospital, preparing for their dical assessnt next month.

After they volunteered to participate in nightmare exploration, the hospital promised that if they could return alive and bring back useful intelligence, they would be exempt from the comprehensive dical examination and only need to verify the most basic dical skills to obtain their credentials.

However.

After half an hour had passed,

the detectors, which had been relatively stable, simultaneously triggered alarms, and the four n strapped to the wheelchairs began to convulse violently.

Ret!h

All four vomited at the sa ti, with a massive amount of black filth pouring out of their bodies, conveniently blackening the one-way glass of the isolation chamber and also obscuring the hidden caras.

At the sa ti, the monitoring equipnt connected to them also lost contact.

The sudden incident caused the hospital staff to lose surveillance of the isolation chamber instantly. Principal Alaus imdiately stood up, covered his entire body with his clothes, and prepared to lead a team to intervene when,

there was activity inside the isolation room, and soone began to clean the glass, slowly wiping away the vomited ink sared on the one-way glass.

The tool used to wipe the glass was very peculiar,

one of the gentlen aspiring to be a doctor peeled off his own facial skin completely and used it as a rag, thodically wiping out a black, eerie smile on the one-way glass. He was also tilting his head, smiling, as if greeting the people outside.

The others in the room also had strange expressions and were trying to leave the isolation chamber.

Five minutes later,

having confird that escape from the isolation chamber and spreading nightmares were impossible, all four turned their heads at the sa ti and stared at the people behind the one-way glass.

Plop! Their eyeballs nearly slid out in unison, crashing to the floor, and then nightmare tentacles began to squirm out of the eye sockets.

Succedaneously, their noses, mouths, and ear cavities showed signs of tentacle growth.

Just then,

a specially formulated death gas flooded into the room through the cracks in the walls, and the gentlen contaminated by the gas began to wither away and die, eventually turning into a puddle of pus.

This gas was a product of Deputy Principal Vissari, typically used in ergency situations during patient research–when it was discovered that a patient was severely out of control and there was a potential for escape, this gas would be released to erase everything.

The decision has been made that the test subjects of the nightmare were beyond salvation. Concerned that Principal Alaus might stumble into contamination by the nightmare substance, they released the gas to eliminate the risk.

“To lose four ‘elite gentlen’ at once, the cost is too great…” Principal Alaus, looking at the carnage in the isolation room, also took off his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes vigorously.

“How about the other testing sites? Is the situation similar to ours or not?”

The staff mber responsible for external communication imdiately responded:

“The Cesimani testing site was interrupted because one of the drears showed strong abnormal reactions just five minutes into the dream, prompting an imdiate termination of the dream test.

At the City Wall testing site, two drears were attacked by nightmares, but they had adopted the individual isolation thod. The gentlen who were attacked have been promptly eliminated, while the remaining two are still exploring the dreams, with a general status.

The situation at the Fabric Workshop testing site is the sa as ours, all dead.

There’s also a temporary test site set up at the Power Station… three drears are in a stable condition, carrying out effective nightmare exploration.”

“Hmm? Since when was a testing site set up at the Power Station? Who is in charge, and who are these three testers… Are they the Power Station’s Frankenstein creations?”

“They were transferred from the academy’s testing site;

the people in charge are Principal Desline and Director Celestin. As for the testers, their information has just been updated.”

When Principal Alaus received the testers’ information, his expression changed abruptly.

“William… isn’t he that nightmare survivor? And there’s also a young executioner and the Power Station director;

what’s their relation to William?”

“The three of them used to be a team, involved together in the Relic incident at Holy Grail Mountain. Right! Their Sensing all reached the limit before their breakthrough, each resulting in a Multi-attribute breakthrough.”

The words caused the old Principal’s brows to furrow deeply.

“Desline is really reckless, to use such valuable talent for preliminary explorations.

Notify

imdiately about any situations at the Power Station.”

“Yes.”

[Power Station (Dream)]

After Yi Chen experienced the taste of a perfect slaughter by killing Jin’s illusion in the dream, he didn’t linger.

He glanced at the gentleman’s clothes hanging in the changing room, received no feedback from the Yellow Skin, and directly swung his hand blade to cut the clothes in half.

Hiss~

As expected, the cut gentleman’s clothes imdiately disintegrated into a bunch of tentacles and died.

Yi Chen then slashed the wall with the back of his hand, only feeling the texture of a mix of stones and tal, but the environnt showed no issues, indicating that not everything was transford from nightmare material.

“Nightmare material is limited, often used to mimic objects with which I’m more familiar.

Little Grape, are you still there?”

As Yi Chen called out, an eye grew out from the Madness Brain and started looking around, while at the sa ti Yi Chen’s own Vision was enhanced and amplified.

“Wow! So this is a nightmare? The environntal details are completely consistent with reality. If one can’t spot the inconsistencies imdiately and accomplish self-awareness, it really would be easy to remain trapped here.

However, infiltrating your brain is still sowhat difficult, and revealing flaws is inevitable.”

“Little Grape, can you see anything?”

“I can’t see anything strange for the mont, what’s your plan for exploration?”

“Don’t rush to make an exploration plan. This is the first ti we’re actively intervening in a nightmare, so we’ll just wander for now. We’ll think about how to explore and delve deeper once we’ve collected enough information.”

Yi Chen walked out of the fitting room,

The control room, which should have contained people like Principal Desline, was empty. The light was dimd, and with the aid of Vision from Little Grape, one could see specks of black material floating sparsely throughout the environnt.

Leaving the sleeping chamber for the outside passage, the surroundings were equally gloomy, but in sight was a ‘person’.

An employee of the Power Station was standing at the end of the corridor, repeatedly smashing his face against the cylindrical facial recognition device.

One could even see teeth scattered across the floor, broken tongues, and the thick blood strung from his face.

He showed no reaction to Yi Chen’s gradual approach.

Little Grape could only perceive a faint black luster from him, much less than the Jin killed in the changing room and the cut clothes.

Just as Yi Chen’s right hand ford a Black Hand Axe and he carefully approached,

When the distance between them closed to three ters, the other suddenly gathered strength for a heavy, forceful face slam… Crack! His entire face caved in and fused with the identifying panel.

Oddly enough,

Ding!

The recognizer actually worked, and the safety door to the next area opened.

“Is it actively luring

to another area?”

Yi Chen crouched slightly, retrieving an ‘Identity Card’ from the broken uniform of the employee, his gaze briefly catching the sight of a smile on the disfigured face.

Securing the Identity Card, he continued towards the Deep.
