ntioning Xiaobai, the smile on Jiang Hai’s face grew a bit kinder, "Did the little guy say sothing?"
"He asked when I’m going to Beijing, his words as sweet as if coated with honey," Jiang Yisheng said. "Dad, co in and sit."
Jiang Hai walked into the room, gazing at the musical instrunts scattered around, his eyes lingered on the violin in the cabinet, a trace of nostalgia flashed in his eyes.
"Asheng, do you still rember that violin?"
Jiang Yisheng ca over, following his gaze, looked at the worn-out violin, a faint smile appeared on his lips, "Of course I rember, it’s the first violin you gave ."
"Yes, back then you said you wanted to learn the violin, so I bought it for you. I thought you’d lose interest after a while, but you’ve persisted for so many years." Jiang Hai sighed.
Jiang Yisheng slightly raised the corners of his mouth, withdrew his gaze to look at him, a knowing gleam in his eyes, "Dad, you ca to see because you wanted to tell sothing, right?"
Jiang Hai slowly turned his face, scrutinized him, then placed his hand on his shoulder, patting it gently.
His tone suddenly beca heavy, "Asheng, have you been happy these past three years?"
Jiang Yisheng’s green eyes paused slightly, he forced a smile, "Happy, of course."
"Really?" Jiang Hai confird again, his expression slightly serious.
"I want the truth."
Jiang Yisheng lowered his gaze, not speaking.
His silence, in Jiang Hai’s eyes, was undoubtedly unhappiness.
"Asheng, your mother said that you’ve been forcing yourself to be strong these past three years, using work to numb yourself, unable to genuinely smile." Jiang Hai spoke slowly.
"You’ve been obedient since you were little, seldom making us worry. I thought ti could forget everything, but now I’m not sure if that’s true anymore."
Jiang Yisheng was taken aback, looking up at him, eting his gentle gaze, unable to figure out his thoughts for a mont.
Jiang Hai sighed, a hint of relief flashing in his eyes, "Asheng, your mother said whatever you want to do, just do it, don’t let stop you. Follow your heart."
Veya’s words deeply touched him; could he really bear to see his son lonely and unhappy for a lifeti?
No, he couldn’t do it, couldn’t harden his heart like that.
His stubbornness ultimately defeated him. He spent three years on the greatest gamble, and he won.
"Dad, you..." Jiang Yisheng looked surprised, staring oddly at him, a bold guess forming in his heart, yet he dared not think it.
The greater the hope, the greater the disappointnt.
Jiang Hai withdrew his hand, a relieved smile on his face, "You won, go ahead."
Jiang Yisheng stood there in a daze, a buzzing noise in his ears, his mind suddenly blank.
His dazed expression successfully amused Jiang Hai, who reached out and patted his shoulder, "Stunned?"
"Dad, you, what do you an?" Jiang Yisheng barely found his voice, stuttering his words.
"It’s just as you think," Jiang Hai chuckled. "Go, wherever you want to go."
With that, he turned and walked out.
Jiang Yisheng stared dumbfounded at his back, finding it hard to react.
After who knows how long, a gleam of surprise shot from his eyes, and he jumped in place.
He paced back and forth in the room, his excitent unable to settle down.
He picked up his phone, ready to make a call in high spirits.
The next second, he thought of sothing and put the phone away again.
