"Brother Qian, can you sign an autograph for ?"

"The movie was really great, Brother Qian, take care of yourself."

"Ji Mingqian, I really like you."

"Brother Qian, Jiang Yisheng rented out the theater for your movie. Will you go to his concert?"

The fans shouted at the top of their lungs, surrounding the area densely.

The scene briefly fell into chaos.

Ji Mingqian pulled down the brim of his hat and walked silently towards the airport, surrounded by staff who ford a circle to protect him, with even airport security coming out to maintain order.

Having seen these scenes often, Chen Xin also felt helpless. Despite the efforts to keep this work trip a secret, fans recognized him as soon as he arrived at the airport.

Fortunately, Ji Mingqian was swift and managed to elude the crowd in no ti, disappearing into the VIP lounge to wait.

When Chen Xin and the team staff found him, he was watching a video on his tablet.

"Big Boss, it’s ti to board." She reminded him.

Ji Mingqian responded with an "Oh," stuffed the tablet into his bag, and continued sipping his unfinished iced coffee.

Ticket check, boarding.

Having spent the previous night revving his motorcycle by the seaside and without sleep, he soon dozed off on the plane.

"Sister Chen, do you think the Big Boss has been under so stress lately?" the assistant quietly asked Chen Xin, seeing Ji Mingqian asleep.

Chen Xin was flipping through docunts and responded casually, "Why do you say that?"

"Look, Big Boss never used to post on Weibo or take endorsent deals, but now he seems actively engaged." The assistant listed Ji Mingqian’s changes.

"Do you think Big Boss went through a breakup? That’s why there’s such a big change?"

There’s a saying—unlucky in love, lucky in career.

Chen Xin chuckled lightly, eyes still on the docunts, "Do you think Big Boss could be the one getting dumped?"

The assistant sneaked a glance at Ji Mingqian, thoughtfully replying, "Though it doesn’t seem so, matters of the heart are unpredictable."

Their Big Boss had both looks and money, wasn’t a playboy, rarely involved in scandals with female celebrities, an almost perfect catch—every woman’s dream, their knight in shining armor. How could soone like him get dumped? If anything, he’d be the one doing the dumping.

"Be careful not to spread such words outside; it could cause misunderstandings. Maybe Big Boss just suddenly felt driven, nothing strange about that." Chen Xin shook her head, advising him.

The assistant nodded, "Understood."

After that, she rested her chin in her hands, her eyes filled with longing, "We’ll soon see Jiang Yisheng. If only I could get his autograph."

Hearing this, Chen Xin glanced at her, amused, "If you had tickets to his concert, would you faint from happiness?"

"Of course, but one can only dream. Jiang Yisheng’s concert tickets sell out instantly; it’s not easy to get one." The assistant sighed, frustrated.

Talking about the hardest concert tickets to get in the industry, Jiang Yisheng’s definitely top the list—they sell out the second they’re released, not just a matter of money.

Chen Xin closed the docunt, looked around, and whispered to her ear, "I’ll let you in on a secret, Big Boss said considering the movie’s record-breaking box office, a reward is ready for the hardworking studio staff—everyone gets a ticket to Jiang Yisheng’s concert."

The assistant’s eyes sparkled, "Really?"

Chen Xin nodded, "Why would I lie?"

The assistant looked thrilled, almost jumping out of her seat.

"Shh." Chen Xin reacted by covering her mouth, signaling her to calm down.

"Don’t shout."

The assistant nodded, unable to suppress her excitent.

Big Boss is just amazing, so thoughtful, isn’t he?

Chen Xin withdrew her hand and continued reading her docunt.

...

The sky was a gloomy gray, and cracks ford in the wall corners where wild grass grew unabated, with small purple flowers swaying precariously.

Suddenly, a hoarse voice sounded nearby.

"Iced sugar hawthorns for sale."

"Delicious iced sugar hawthorns."

As ti passed, the hawker’s cries grew hoarse, with even the volu diminishing.

Jiang Yisheng paused, took two steps back, and stopped in front of the elderly vendor’s stall.

The vibrant fruits, coated in a glistening sugar glaze, srized Jiang Yisheng.

"Young man, would you like to try a sugar hawthorn?" The old man, gray-haired and deeply wrinkled, wore a genuine smile that made one feel at ease.

Jiang Yisheng snapped back to reality, eting the elder’s honest gaze, a faint smile curving beneath his mask.

He glanced at the remaining sugar hawthorns on the stall and whispered, "I’ll take twenty sticks."

"Twenty sticks?" The old man was surprised, instinctively asking, "Can you finish all that by yourself?"

"They’re for my friends," Jiang Yisheng replied.

The old man knowingly smiled, picked up a transparent box, and cheerfully said, "Sure, hang on a second while I pack them for you."

Soon, the hawthorn sticks at the stall were gone.

Jiang Yisheng took out his wallet, "How much is it?"

"That’ll be eighty dollars in total." The old man placed the box in a paper bag and handed it to him.

Jiang Yisheng took the bag and, with a gentle tone, gave two large red bills to the old man, "Get ho early, the wind’s picking up."

Seeing all that money, the old man hastily declined, "That’s too much, we agreed on eighty."

"It’s fine, keep it." Jiang Yisheng smiled slightly, not wanting to linger and risk being recognized by fans, slipped the money into the old man’s coat pocket, and quickly crossed the road to the opposite side.

"Hey, young man..."

The old man took small steps to catch up but had to stop at the red light.

After it turned green, Jiang Yisheng was nowhere to be seen.

The old man smiled, shaking his head, ntally noting he’d t a kind person today.

Having wandered outside all day, Wen Rang thought he might have visited a music shop or high-end boutique, but he returned with just a bag of iced sugar hawthorns in hand.

Bewildered, Wen Rang asked, "Yisheng, why buy so many sugar hawthorns?"

Jiang Yisheng took one out from the bag, then handed it to him, "They taste good, share them among yourselves."

He then walked out, eating a sugar hawthorn.

"Where are you off to again?" Wen Rang felt lost.

"Just strolling around the resort, don’t worry, I won’t leave," Jiang Yisheng lazily replied with his back turned.

Hearing this, Wen Rang breathed a sigh of relief; as long as he wasn’t leaving.

The Feng Group-invested resort had a pri location, both by the sea and with a private orchard, making it perfect for relaxation and unwinding.

As he strolled to the seaside, Jiang Yisheng found an empty corner and sat down on the sand.

He adjusted his sunglasses, watching the jet skis racing far off the sea, gradually lost in thought.

mories drifted back to the night he first tried jet skiing by the sea, a hint of nostalgia flickering deep in his eyes.
