Ye Jiuliang replied, "I’ll visit you on set when I have ti."
"Forget it, would Li Mochan even be happy with you visiting on set like this?" Ji Mingqian snorted casually.
"Next ti we et, who knows, you might have already had the baby."
Ye Jiuliang chuckled lightly, "Well, you better have a red envelope ready for ."
Ji Mingqian glanced at her sideways, "Money grubber."
Given his low spirits these past few days, Ye Jiuliang didn’t bicker with him, "What ti are you leaving? How about having lunch together?"
"Let’s save lunch for next ti, my flight is in half an hour." Ji Mingqian put down Erbao and continued packing his luggage.
"Isn’t Li Mochan coming with you?"
"He is, he’s downstairs on a call."
As she spoke, she keenly spotted the thermos on the table, a smile curving her lips, "Since when did you start using a thermos?"
She rembered he was the one who hated drinking hot water the most, usually opting for cold drinks outside.
"I’m getting older, need to drink more hot water," Ji Mingqian said with a careless smile, joking about himself.
Ye Jiuliang rolled her eyes at him, not buying it.
"Ti’s running out, I’m off." Ji Mingqian lifted his suitcase, raising his eyebrows at her.
"Don’t forget to send the red envelope for my little one," Ye Jiuliang said.
Ji Mingqian sighed, "Got it, I wouldn’t dare forget about yours, alright?"
Ye Jiuliang smiled, feeling a bit more at ease seeing him still joking around.
Ji Mingqian carried his luggage down the stairs, with Erbao sticking close to his feet.
Following behind, Ye Jiuliang walked down slowly with the help of the railing, smiling softly as she watched the little one cling to Ji Mingqian.
In the downstairs living room, Li Mochan finished his call and turned to see Ye Jiuliang and the group coming down, his gaze landing on Ji Mingqian’s suitcase.
Ji Mingqian set down his suitcase, walked over to Li Mochan, and pulled a pendant out of his pocket, "Li Mochan, could you pass this on for ?"
Li Mochan looked down at the pendant in his hand; it was a small penguin holding a bright red fruit, resembling a candied hawthorn.
He reached out, took the pendant, and placed it directly in his pocket.
"Thanks." Ji Mingqian looked at him, expressing gratitude for once.
Li Mochan raised an eyebrow, reluctantly accepting his thanks.
...
The days passed quietly, drawing closer to the due date.
To avoid missing the baby’s birth, Master Li ca to stay in the US a bit earlier.
Honestly speaking, this was his first ti actually staying at the castle, unlike before when he would be kicked out by the Jiang Matriarch as soon as he showed up.
"Xiaojiu, are you hungry? Should we have the kitchen prepare sothing to eat?" the Jiang Matriarch asked Ye Jiuliang with a warm smile, eyeing her increasingly large belly.
"Exactly, exactly, just say whatever you want to eat. I brought a lot of tonics with ; I’ll have the kitchen prepare them for you to eat more," Master Li chid in.
"There’s really no need, I’m not hungry," Ye Jiuliang waved her hand, smiling awkwardly.
Lately, the tonics had been served continuously every day, and she was fed up. Plus, with Li Mochan flying worldwide due to matters with the Dark Hall, she had no one to share them with when he was away.
"Xiaojiu, when will Achen be back?" Veya asked.
"Probably tonight," Ye Jiuliang replied.
"With your due date so close, when will you be going to the hospital?" The thought of the chubby little dumpling made the Jiang Matriarch unable to stop smiling.
Thinking it over, Ye Jiuliang said, "Probably next week."
After staying in the living room for a while, she rembered she had a video eting to attend, so up she went.
Once on the computer, she entered the headquarters’ group; the eting had already started, with her the only one missing.
Alone in the room, Ye Jiuliang opted not to use headphones and instead played the audio aloud.
From the other end of the video ca Qin Er’s report, while Ye Jiuliang reviewed the docunts sent by Chu Chen.
Flipping to one page, she pressed the docunt’s corner with her fingertip, slightly furrowing her brows.
She spoke up, "Hold on a mont."
On the other end, Qin Er paused his report, with everyone watching Ye Jiuliang, awaiting her comnts.
"Forget waiting for more nonsense from ng Ke; he can take the goods or leave them," Ye Jiuliang said coldly.
Thinking of dragging it out to drive their price down—he can keep dreaming.
"Whisent is still waiting to work with us; tell Lei Ke if he doesn’t sign the contract, plenty of others are lining up," her firm tone and decisive decision exactly like how everyone rembered Master Jiu.
"Understood," Qin Er noted Ye Jiuliang’s instructions before resuming his report.
During which, they discussed recent power structure changes, with Ye Jiuliang and Chu Chen doing most of the talking by the end.
The eting lasted over an hour in total; once adjourned, only Chu Chen, another person, and Ye Jiuliang remained in the group chat.
Once work was settled, the conversation naturally lightened up, with Gu Xinuo asking, "Ajiu, isn’t your due date coming soon?"
Ye Jiuliang nodded, picking up her cup for a sip of water.
"How’s Aqian doing lately? Haven’t seen him around," Chu Chen asked.
ntioning Ji Mingqian seed to suddenly set a heavy tone.
In the past couple of months, Ji Mingqian shifted between film sets and traveling worldwide for headquarters’ matters. Sotis, he’d stay at headquarters for days, only showing up for work.
If it were the past, that’d have been unimaginable.
"Still the sa, nothing new shot at the set, so he headed back," Ye Jiuliang sighed, helplessly.
Hearing that, Gu Xinuo frowned, "Ajiu, are they really done?"
If they’re done, Aqian doesn’t quite act like it, constantly keeping Erbao with him, even bringing them to headquarters.
Ye Jiuliang sipped her water, "You know Aqian’s temperant; do you think that’s possible?"
"Then what’s going on now?" With low emotional intelligence, Gu Xinuo appeared thoroughly baffled.
Ye Jiuliang, amused by her confused expression, chuckled, "Why don’t you just ask Achen?"
"Ask him, he only speaks in ways I can’t understand," Gu Xinuo rolled her eyes, unreservedly critiquing.
"Almost forgot to ask you, how’s Yisheng?"
"Still the sa, recuperating." Ye Jiuliang answered.
The family law back then wasn’t taken lightly, leaving scars that won’t heal quickly.
The trio chatted idly for a bit longer before ending the call. Ye Jiuliang stretched lazily, getting up to leave.
"Young Mistress."
In the hallway, while the maids were mopping the floor, they respectfully greeted Ye Jiuliang upon her ergence from the bedroom.
"Young Mistress."
Ye Jiuliang waved them off, allowing them to return to their tasks.
She slowly made her way down the stairs, holding the railing for support.
