Ji Mingqian gave her a cold glance, not believing a word she said.
"So they kidnapped you just to beat you up and then let you go?"
"They thought I was Chu Chen’s girlfriend. That’s why they kidnapped . When Chu Chen didn’t co to save , they finally believed I wasn’t his girlfriend, so they just threw away," Mo Lingling’s tears, held back until now, started to flow again, her eyes casting frequent resentful glances at Chu Chen.
Gu Xinuo could tell there was an underlying ssage. She was pushing all the bla onto Achen.
Suddenly, a dark shadow flashed before their eyes.
Mo Lingling panicked as a cold hand suddenly gripped her throat.
A voice filled with malice sounded from above her head, "Speak, who exactly are these people?"
Mo Lingling’s face turned a shade of blue and purple, her tear-filled eyes looking up at Chu Chen, too battered to raise her head fully.
"I really don’t know, Chu Chen, I..."
"Speak." Chu Chen was unmoved, his grip on her neck tightening.
"I really... don’t... know," Mo Lingling’s breathing beca increasingly labored.
"Achen, don’t be rash," Gu Xinuo reached out to pull him back, soothing, "We still need her."
Mo Lingling must know sothing. Keeping her alive, there was no fear she wouldn’t spill the beans eventually.
"Cough cough cough." Mo Lingling gasped for air, still in shock.
She lifted her eyes to Chu Chen, her gaze red with tears, her voice breaking into a sob, "Chu Chen, I was kidnapped and hurt because of you. I already said I did not an to reveal the location of the island. Why won’t you believe ?"
"That was my own grandfather, I didn’t know they would do such a thing. You can’t bla everything on ."
Ji Mingqian watched the sobbing Mo Lingling, his gaze filled with contempt.
The old saying goes, ’The leopard cannot change its spots,’ and her bad habit of pushing all her mistakes onto others from childhood hadn’t changed one bit.
"Achen, let’s step outside," Gu Xinuo signaled to Ji Mingqian with her eyes, then pulled Chu Chen out with her.
No sooner had the three of them stepped out the door than the crying inside the hospital room intensified.
In the hallway, Ji Mingqian leaned against the wall, his toes tapping the ground lightly, "What do you two think?"
"We’ll take Mo Lingling back with us first. Her sudden appearance is definitely related to those people; it might be another sche. Keeping her could still be useful," Gu Xinuo reasoned calmly, "Forcing her now, she won’t speak."
Just like earlier, when Achen nearly strangled her, she still stubbornly kept quiet.
