Ji Mingqian gripped the collar of his shirt, intending to forcefully yank the man up, "No violin, get up quickly."

"Don’t pull at , let go." Jiang Yisheng pushed at his hand, his delicate and handso face furrowing into a scowl.

He suddenly grabbed Ji Mingqian’s hand and "ow" bit down hard, like a beast in a fight, fierce and vicious.

"Hiss—"

Ji Mingqian jerked back his hand and looked down to see the teeth marks on the back of his hand turn red, with a faint trace of blood visible.

He looked up at the person opposite him. Jiang Yisheng stumbled back to the side of the bed and collapsed onto the nightstand.

Ji Mingqian stepped forward, stood behind him, and Jiang Yisheng casually pulled a book from the cabinet, turned around, and tugged at the hem of his trousers.

"What are you doing?" Ji Mingqian glanced at him from the corner of his eye, squatted down following his gesture, and asked irritably.

Jiang Yisheng stuffed the book into his arms, drunkenly saying, "Read it, read it to ."

Ji Mingqian scoffed lightly, "Jiang Yisheng, how old are you to still want soone to read you a bedti story?"

"Read it fast." Impatient from waiting, Jiang Yisheng growled, although his soft voice really had no lethality.

Sitting on the ground, Ji Mingqian took the book and smacked his head with it, "You bit my hand, and now you’re still so aggressive, I’m not going to read to you."

The drunken Jiang Yisheng couldn’t stand being provoked, like a beast ready to lash out, and when his head was smacked, his half-closed eyes suddenly opened wide. He pounced, his whole weight pressing down on Ji Mingqian.

"Thud—"

Caught off guard, Ji Mingqian fell to the ground, almost sustaining internal injuries from the impact.

The thick original book dropped to the floor, emitting a dull thud.

Ouch, he says, it crushed him.

Heavy as death.

"Jiang Yisheng, get off quickly, it’s so heavy I could die." Ji Mingqian pushed at him, but the person clutched onto his collar relentlessly and refused to let go.

"Don’t want to, sleepy." Jiang Yisheng muttered, his cheek resting against the area over his heart, his eyelids uncontrollably closing.

The steady breathing reached his ears, and Ji Mingqian looked down at him, already asleep.

"..."

Clearly, he was a lightweight drinker, still bluffing.

As if Ji believed his nonsense.

Not wanting to wake him, Ji Mingqian carefully moved him aside.

After much effort, he managed to get him onto the bed, and Ji Mingqian sat on the ground, sweating despite the cold winter.

Pulling the covers over him, Ji Mingqian picked up the book and placed it back on the nightstand. He cast a sidelong glance at the person deep asleep on the bed, his slightly flushed cheeks still bearing a hint of red, and his curled lashes trembling slightly, like a sleeping sprite.

Rembering the term "pig-brain," Ji Mingqian tugged at the corner of his mouth, the lingering smile mingled with resignation.

He flicked his forehead gently, "Well, I won’t hold it against you this ti."

Withdrawing his hand, he tidied up the things on the table, turned off the lights, and left the room.

...

The eting concluded, and Wei Nan and the others ca out of the study.

"Why isn’t the lady around today?" Wei Xi asked in a hushed tone, curious.

Wei Nan said, "Probably at the herbal dicine farm again."

In recent days, Ye Jiuliang often stayed at the herbal dicine farm, and people from Dark Hall knew that their lord had brought back a wife. From ti to ti, soone would sneak a peek to see the true face of the future lady.

"Wei Nan, is the lady really Leng Yi, the Devil’s Hand?" Curious, Wei Bei asked about sothing Wei Dong had ntioned.

Wei Nan said, "Eight or nine out of ten, but the lady doesn’t admit it, so I am not sure."

"But the lady didn’t deny it either," said Wei Bei.

Wei Xi laughed, "That’s why the lord has good taste, picked a gem on the first try."
