Li Mochan muttered an acknowledgnt, "What’s been happening with the Li Family lately?"
"Li Jingjie and the others have already been sent abroad by the old master. However, there’s been a lot of nasty gossip outside, and the old master hasn’t done anything about it," Wei Bei said.
This ti, Li Jingjie and his crew had finally shown a bit of intelligence, otherwise, they would definitely not have had a good ti.
In the past few days, Ye Jiuliang had been busy with Jiang Yisheng’s illness and the matter with the iron box, so she hadn’t kept up much with the affairs in the capital.
Leaning into Li Mochan’s arms, she asked curiously, "What kind of rumors and gossip?"
"It’s nothing." Li Mochan raised his hand and gently stroked her head, softening his voice as he spoke.
Ye Jiuliang didn’t believe him, and looked up at the person driving in front of them, "Wei Bei, you tell ."
"Madam, please don’t make it difficult for ," Wei Bei said with a wry smile.
Ye Jiuliang took out her phone from her pocket, but just as the screen lit up, it was snatched away by the person beside her.
He surrendered, "I’ll say it."
Ye Jiuliang smiled with satisfaction as Li Mochan briefly explained the recent events of the Li Family.
After listening, Ye Jiuliang let out a cold laugh, thinking those people really had nothing better to do.
"Let’s not talk about this anymore, let’s go back for a midnight snack," Li Mochan said, not wanting to let these troubleso matters spoil his little wolf cub’s mood.
Ye Jiuliang’s eyes creased with a smile, "Is there spicy hot pot?"
Eating spicy hot pot in the cold weather, especially in the middle of the night, felt more than just thrilling.
Li Mochan pressed her closer into his embrace, "No."
"Go away," Ye Jiuliang glared at him.
Wei Bei silently listened, turning into a lemon spirit once again.
...
The United States
After Ye Jiuliang and Li Mochan left, the castle beca noticeably more desolate.
Seeing that the old lady was bored at ho, Veya took her out shopping after breakfast, leaving Jiang Hai alone at ho.
"Master, there is a visitor," a servant reported, walking in briskly.
A visitor?
Jiang Hai put down the newspaper and looked up at her, "Who is it?"
"The gentleman said his last na is Ji, and he is Miss Ye’s friend. He ca to visit young master Yisheng," the servant relayed.
To visit Yisheng?
Jiang Hai pondered for a mont, "Let him in."
"Yes."
Soon, the servant led Ji Mingqian inside.
Jiang Hai stood up, his gaze went beyond the servant and settled on Ji Mingqian, sizing him up.
He appeared to be a good-looking young man, distinguished yet with a restrained sharpness, clearly no ordinary character.
However, he looked sowhat familiar; Jiang Hai was sure he had seen him sowhere before.
As he was assessing Ji Mingqian, the latter was also scrutinizing him. Bearing a resemblance to Jiang Yisheng, his identity was quite apparent.
Ji Mingqian greeted him with neither arrogance nor servility, "Uncle, hello, my na is Ji Mingqian, a friend of Ye Jiuliang."
Jiang Hai nodded, his eyes falling on the fruit basket in his hand, "Hello, are you here to visit Yisheng?"
Ji Mingqian humd an acknowledgnt, "Jiuliang said he was sick, and since I was coming this way for work, I thought I’d visit him as well."
Jiang Hai suddenly realized why he found him familiar — his wife had been making him watch movies, and Ji Mingqian here starred as the lead actor in two or three of them.
Ji Mingqian, the well-known international movie star.
Jiang Hai smiled, "Please have a seat."
Ji Mingqian smiled, "Thank you, uncle. I have so errands to run, so I’ll just stay for a mont. Where is Yisheng?"
"Asheng is upstairs, I’ll take you to him," Jiang Hai said.
Ji Mingqian replied, "Then I’ll trouble you, uncle."
Jiang Yisheng hadn’t recovered from his leg injury and had been lying in bed all along. Fortunately, he had a calm nature and didn’t find it boring to be alone.
He spent his free ti reading books or composing and writing lyrics.
"Asheng, soone has co to visit you."
The voice arrived before the person did.
Jiang Yisheng looked up, shifting his gaze away from the book as Jiang Hai walked in first.
"Dad, who is it?"
As he spoke, Ji Mingqian entered the room leisurely, carrying the fruit basket behind Jiang Hai.
Jiang Yisheng froze, his expression stiffening.
Why had he co?
"Asheng, your friend ca to visit you, why do you look like that?" Jiang Hai saw his son sitting motionless and prompted him.
Jiang Yisheng snapped out of it, his gaze flickered, darting away from Ji Mingqian.
"You two chat, I’ll have soone bring up so drinks," Jiang Hai spoke softly.
Ji Mingqian placed the fruit basket on the table, "Uncle, there’s no need to trouble yourself, I’ll be leaving shortly."
Jiang Hai waved his hand dismissively, "It’s fine, it’s fine. Having a drink before you go won’t be too late."
Watching his father leave the room, Jiang Yisheng wished he could follow him out.
The spacious room suddenly felt cramped with Ji Mingqian’s arrival.
Neither of them looked at the other, and the atmosphere turned sowhat eerie.
Ji Mingqian looked across at the person sitting on the bed, whose forehead still bore bruises and whose pale complexion was beginning to regain so color after careful recuperation.
Gazing at that face, beautiful to the point of androgyny, Ji Mingqian scoffed inwardly.
"Why, why did you co?" No longer able to withstand the awkward silence, Jiang Yisheng finally broke the ice.
"Ajiu told to bring you dicine," Ji Mingqian spoke coldly, pulling out a small porcelain bottle from his pocket to put beside the fruit basket to prove his point.
"And the fruit basket?" Jiang Yisheng asked hesitantly.
Ji Mingqian let out a snort, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "After all, we’ve done endorsents together, we’re colleagues. Isn’t it perfectly normal to bring a fruit basket when visiting a colleague?"
Jiang Yisheng looked down, his hands hidden under the covers began to clench involuntarily, "Yes, it’s very normal."
His voice was low and hoarse, inexplicably giving off the impression of soone who had been wronged.
