The next day, as dawn was breaking.

Ye Jiuliang got up early for a change and dragged Li Mohan out to go shopping.

Wandering around the mall, they passed by a counter, and Ye Jiuliang could no longer move on.

"Why aren’t you moving?" Li Mohan stopped and looked at her sideways.

Ye Jiuliang tugged at his arm, her eyes shining brightly as she looked up at him, "I want to buy that."

Following her gaze, a boutique figurine shop ca into his view.

A motorcycle figurine was displayed steadily in the window.

Li Mohan curled his lips into a smile, sowhat helpless.

"Let’s go inside." Without waiting for him to speak, Ye Jiuliang pulled him into the shop.

"Welco," said the only person in the spacious shop, a young man who was the owner.

"This one, and this one, can you please wrap them up for ?" Ye Jiuliang pointed at two motorcycle figurines in the window.

She had been looking for these two figurines for a long ti and never expected to find them here.

"Sorry, these are not for sale. How about looking at sothing else?" the owner said warmly.

Ye Jiuliang frowned slightly, "You can na your price."

The owner showed a bit of difficulty, "This..."

"Ten tis the price," Li Mohan said flatly.

The owner’s eyes lit up, hesitating, "Well, okay, I’ll wrap them up for you, please wait a mont."

Ye Jiuliang curved her lips into a smile.

The country estate.

The sounds of violin playing echoed through the courtyard, lodious and lingering like a mountain stream.

"Asheng, co over and have so tea," Veya said, walking over with a tray and sitting down in the pavilion.

Jiang Yisheng opened his eyes, and the violin music stopped abruptly as he walked towards the pavilion with his violin.

"Mom, where’s dad? Why didn’t he co with you?"

"A friend of your dad asked him out," she replied.

Jiang Yisheng sat down beside her and took the teacup she handed him, sipping lightly.

"Asheng, have you t any pretty girls in Beijing lately?" Veya asked thoughtfully, her chin propped in her hands.

"Cough, cough." Jiang Yisheng successfully choked.

Veya laughed softly, "Why such a big reaction? Could it be you have soone you like?"

"Mom, what are you thinking?" Jiang Yisheng put down his teacup and caught his breath before speaking.

"I don’t have anyone I like."

Veya cupped her cheeks with her hands and sighed, "When will you bring a girlfriend?"

Jiang Yisheng chose silence, quietly drinking his tea.

"How about I introduce you to a few?" Veya persisted.

"Mom, I just rembered I have sothing to do and need to leave," Jiang Yisheng quickly stood up, taking his violin and running off without looking back upon realizing it was about matchmaking.

"Jiang Yisheng, you co back here," Veya called out after his retreating figure.

...

There were still matters to handle in Beijing, so Li Mohan and Ye Jiuliang didn’t plan to stay too long.

After celebrating Veya’s birthday, they would stay another day before leaving.

In the evening, the afterglow gradually faded.

Ye Jiuliang was awoken by a loud call from Ji Mingqian; she half-squinted her eyes, bringing the phone to her ear, "Speak if there’s sothing."

"Ajiu, there’s news. Where are you right now?" Ji Mingqian sounded unusually serious.

"What’s the situation?" Ye Jiuliang sat up, her eyes clear, without a trace of sleepiness.

"I’ve got information about him in a small town in F country, and I’ve also co across sothing strange. Can you co over?" Ji Mingqian said.

"The details can’t be clarified over the phone in a short ti."

Ye Jiuliang’s eyes darkened slightly, "Send the address; I’ll set off as soon as possible."

After hanging up, Ye Jiuliang threw off the blanket and got out of bed, quickly changing into a set of clothes she took from the wardrobe.

As she was putting on her coat, the room door suddenly opened.

Their eyes t, and Li Mohan’s gaze fell on her neatly dressed figure, his brows slightly furrowing.

"Going out?"

Ye Jiuliang walked over quickly, looking up at him with a sowhat serious expression, "Mohan, sothing urgent has co up, and I need to make a trip to F country. But I will be back soon, so you go back to Beijing first."

Li Shaohui and Fang Hui’s situation was still awaiting his attention, and he had no idea what was happening in F country. She couldn’t just take him with her on such short notice.

"To F country?" Li Mohan’s frown deepened, "Is it dangerous?"

"Don’t worry, I’ll co back safe and won’t let myself get into trouble," Ye Jiuliang said softly as she wrapped her arms around him.

"You go back to Beijing to deal with Li Shaohui and the others. I’ll be back soon."

Li Mohan looked down at her, pulled her into his arms, not wanting to let her go, "What are you going to do in F country?"

"Actually, I have a master. Sothing happened back then, it’s a long story. My master has passed away, and there was another person who disappeared at the ti. Now I’ve got word of him, so I must go," Ye Jiuliang explained briefly.

"I’ll explain it to you when I co back."

Li Mohan said, "Then I’ll go with you."

"I really won’t be in any danger, you go back to Beijing to handle things first. Once you’re done, and if I’m not back yet, you can co find . How does that sound?" Ye Jiuliang raised her hands to his neck, her eyes and brows curving as she spoke.

Li Shaohui was no fool. Recently, Mohan’s business pressure on him was more than just a little skirmish; he would inevitably sense sothing was happening. As they say, even a cornered rabbit will bite; it was best to deal with Li Shaohui sooner rather than later.

Li Mohan’s brow relaxed slightly, "You’re going alone?"

"Aqian will be with ," she said honestly.

Hearing that Ji Mingqian would be there too, Li Mohan felt sowhat relieved, and reminded her at the end, "Be careful, and rember to tell imdiately if anything happens. Don’t hide anything from ."

"Okay," Ye Jiuliang tiptoed and kissed him on the lips.

"I’m off."

"I’ll take you to the airport," Li Mohan said, his longing gaze heavy with reluctance, "Don’t let yourself get hurt, don’t be reckless."

"Okay," Ye Jiuliang replied with a smile.

As she was leaving, Ye Jiuliang only took a backpack with her, leaving everything else behind.

Jiang Yisheng was slightly surprised to learn she was leaving first.

He asked, "Why are you hurrying off so quickly?"

Ye Jiuliang smiled, "Got so matters to take care of. I’ll co back once things settle down. It’s getting late, and I might miss the flight."

"Tell my grandparents for when they return," she said.

Jiang Yisheng nodded, "Take care on the road."

Ye Jiuliang humd a response and left with Li Mohan.
