Early in the morning, the mist had not yet dispersed.

The light rain gradually tapping against the window awoke Jiang Yisheng in an unfamiliar environnt, where he was a light sleeper.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and picked up his phone, a ssage popped up.

It was from his manager Wen Rang; he had gone to bed early last night and hadn’t seen the ssage.

[The Feng Group endorsent shoot is scheduled for the day after tomorrow.]

It seed he had to return today.

Jiang Yisheng put down his phone and got out of bed to wash up.

After changing into clothes and going downstairs, the living room was eerily quiet, and the slippers at the entrance remained untouched.

He hadn’t co back last night?

Jiang Yisheng took out his phone and made a call, the other end rang for a long ti, but no one answered.

Just as he was about to hang up, soone suddenly picked up the phone on the other end.

It wasn’t the familiar male voice, but a woman’s voice.

"Who is this?"

Jiang Yisheng’s eyes narrowed slightly, his voice calm, "I’m looking for Ji Mingqian."

"Looking for Mingqian? Wait a mont; he’s in the thermal spring. I’ll go find him," the woman’s voice said gently.

"No need," Jiang Yisheng’s emotions deep in his eyes gradually beca hazy as he cut off the call without any hurry.

On the other end of the phone, the woman was left confused after the abrupt hang-up.

"Luna, what happened?" A man’s voice sounded from behind her.

The woman turned around and handed Ji Mingqian’s phone to the man, "Soone just called looking for Mingqian. It’s getting late; I have sothing to do and have to go now. Don’t stay here too long, get back to the club early to avoid the coach’s scolding. Take care of your clothes and backpacks; find soone to help you watch them."

"Got it," the man took the phone, nodding his head.

She had originally planned to return straight to the capital, but was unexpectedly called halfway by headquarters, ntioning that a new model firearm had been developed with a minor issue that needed her attention.

The back-and-forth travel had her reaching the airport at five in the morning.

Having booked a ticket in advance, she fell asleep as soon as she boarded the plane.

During the journey, the flight encountered a minor issue, and she had to transfer planes several tis.

By the ti she arrived in the capital, it was already dark.

The night was cool as water; it had been raining these past few days in the capital, bringing so rare relief from the heat.

The taxi stopped in front of a luxury hotel. Ye Jiuliang paid the fare and, without waiting for change, briskly walked toward the limited edition Maybach parked under a tree.

Wei Bei was waiting there.

Seeing Ye Jiuliang, he smiled slightly, "Madam."

"Where’s Mohan?" she asked.

Wei Bei replied, "The dinner is almost over; the master should be out in a few minutes."

"Alright, you can go back now," Ye Jiuliang said.

"Should I leave the car here?" Wei Bei asked.

Ye Jiuliang shook her head, "You drive the car back."

Wei Bei nodded and moved to the driver’s seat on the other side.

Rolling down the window, he said, "Madam, I’m leaving now."

Just as Ye Jiuliang was about to nod, she suddenly rembered sothing and asked, "What has Mohan been up to these days?"

Lately, her Li Mohan had been calling less often, and even their video calls were hurriedly concluded as if he was eager to attend to so matter.

After a mont’s thought, Wei Bei weighed his words and then said, "The master has spent most of his ti in the study these past few days, and we don’t know what he’s doing in there, but a few days ago, he asked to buy so wool yarn."

Wool yarn?

Upon hearing this, Ye Jiuliang was montarily stunned and then burst into laughter.

Her Li Mohan couldn’t possibly be really knitting a scarf.

"I understand, go on back," she said, suppressing her amusent with a wave of her hand.

Wei Bei nodded and drove away.

Ye Jiuliang looked around and found a place to hide.

Leaning against a pillar at the hotel entrance, Ye Jiuliang fiddled with her phone, quietly waiting for Li Mohan to co out.
