"Your cousin just loves to bully people, don’t mind him," Ye Jiuliang patted Li Mochan’s hand and, seeing him holding a ga controller, casually asked, "Do you like playing gas too?"
Jiang Yisheng shrugged his shoulders with a helpless smile, "I just watch; I’m not really good at playing."
"He’s a klutz," Li Mochan cut in.
Jiang Yisheng, "..."
He swore that he was definitely the third wheel here, the glowing and heating kind.
It was simply way too much of a brotherly tyranny.
"What do you want for lunch?" Li Mochan glanced at the clock on the wall and asked gently.
"Braised prawns in oil," Ye Jiuliang nad a dish and turned her head towards Jiang Yisheng, her red lips slightly upturned, "Hurry up and order, your cousin will cook."
Jiang Yisheng smiled and, braving Li Mochan’s cold stare, said, "Then, how about stead fish?"
"Jiang Yisheng," Li Mochan called out ominously.
Jiang Yisheng smiled innocently, using Ye Jiuliang as a shield, "Sister-in-law said it’s okay."
Li Mochan gave him a sidelong glance, sparing his life for the sake of that "sister-in-law" call.
He got up and went to the kitchen, and suddenly, only Jiang Yisheng and Ye Jiuliang were left in the living room.
"Want to play a round?" Ye Jiuliang picked up another ga controller and asked lightly.
"I’m not very good; please go easy on , sister-in-law," Jiang Yisheng said with a laugh.
Ye Jiuliang shot him a glance, "Keep calling sister-in-law and you won’t have a friend anymore, okay?"
Jiang Yisheng chuckled, his gaze returning to the screen.
Coming from Li Mochan, Ye Jiuliang thought he was joking about Jiang Yisheng being a klutz, but no sooner had the ga started than Jiang Yisheng died in less than two seconds.
"Have you played gas before?" Ye Jiuliang stifled a laugh, asking soulfully.
Jiang Yisheng gave a light cough, "Not really."
As a child, he was frequently ill, spending most of his ti either practicing the piano or sleeping. With his cousin’s icy deanor, no one played gas with him.
"Want so candy?" Ye Jiuliang looked at his pale face and suddenly pulled a few candies from her pocket to offer him.
Jiang Yisheng took them, looked at the candies in his hand, and pursed his lips, "This..."
Ye Jiuliang, "What’s wrong?"
"Nothing. I’ve seen Ji Mingqian eat these before," Jiang Yisheng said with a shake of his head and a smile.
"You’ve t?"
"Yeah, in S City," Jiang Yisheng said. Peeling off the candy wrapper, the pale yellow candy tasted not as cloyingly sweet as other candies but had a faint herbal flavor, a little astringent yet also mildly sweet.
He looked at Ye Jiuliang in surprise, "This candy?"
"Having so occasionally is good for your throat," Ye Jiuliang said with a hooked smile.
These candies were homade by her with no side effects; even eating plenty was quite beneficial to one’s health.
Jiang Yisheng smiled faintly and stuffed the rest of the candies in his pocket, "I’ll keep these for later, lest my cousin sees them and starts fighting for them."
At his words, Ye Jiuliang couldn’t help but laugh, "Yeah, he’s stingy."
"By the way, the car race in the Eastern Suburbs I watched last ti was really good," Jiang Yisheng said. "Did you and Ji Mingqian use to race cars?"
"Yeah, we started quite early. Are you also interested in motorcycles?" Ye Jiuliang’s eyes glead at the ntion of motorcycles.
Jiang Yisheng sounded a bit helpless, "I’m interested, but it’s not for ."
If he were to ride motorcycles, it would be like risking his life. If his family found out, he’d probably be whisked away and grounded instantly.
"Actually, it’s not impossible for you to give it a try," Ye Jiuliang said with a sly smile. She could tell that Jiang Yisheng’s frailty was congenital, but that didn’t an it couldn’t be managed, although it would be a bit tricky.
Jiang Yisheng looked puzzled, gazing at her uncomprehendingly.
