Muted colors bring a slight chill, the stars shimring and blurry.
Jing Pavilion, doors and windows tightly shut.
Before the desk, a pile of white papers, only the top two sheets were written on, the rest blank.
At this mont, Ye Jiuliang looked at the dishes just brought in on the tray, her appetite waning.
Two dishes and a soup, all vegetarian—it was clear the old man intended to punish her; even the takeout she ordered couldn’t be delivered, and additional guards were posted at the door.
As soone who loved spicy food, the sight of these bland vegetarian dishes did nothing for her hunger.
Ye Jiuliang picked up her chopsticks and took a bite of the greens, tasteless and bland.
Terribly unappetizing.
Suddenly, her phone’s WeChat notification chid, signaling an incoming ssage.
She picked up her phone and saw the ssage from Li Mochan pop up on the screen.
[The back window is open.]
Ye Jiuliang’s eyes lit up, and she quickly ran to the back window.
She quietly opened it, and in the night, saw the man’s face with a smile playing at his lips.
Li Mochan raised what he was holding, and Ye Jiuliang grinned, imdiately reaching out to take the food container he handed her.
Li Mochan climbed through the window and, after closing it behind him, walked over to the desk.
"You’re eating just this for dinner?" he frowned as he saw what was on the table.
Since when did the Ye Family beco so poor that they fed their wolf pup such food?
So plain, was it ant for feeding rabbits?
Ye Jiuliang humd a response, opening the food container. The tantalizing scent imdiately wafted out, making her lick her lips greedily.
Boiled beef in spicy sauce, braised pork ribs, and a fresh soup.
Happiness ca so unexpectedly.
Li Mochan took out a bowl and chopsticks, serving her so soup, "Have so soup first."
Ye Jiuliang took it with a beaming smile, genuinely concerned, "Didn’t you get a scolding when you went back to the Li Family?"
Li Mochan shook his head, sitting down opposite her. His gaze swept over the piles of white papers on the table, a smile appearing in his eyes, "Got punished to copy the family rules again?"
Ye Jiuliang snorted and suddenly, as if thinking of sothing, she smiled mischievously, "Lord Li, if I rember correctly, you said yesterday that you’d copy the family rules for ."
Li Mochan’s gaze deepened, the corners of his lips rising slightly, "Alright."
"That’s what you said," Ye Jiuliang squinted with a smile.
"Co on, have a piece of rib, don’t be shy," she urged. She’d need the energy to copy the family rules later.
Li Mochan looked at the ribs in his bowl, raising an eyebrow. Weren’t those brought by him?
Ye Jiuliang had an exceptionally satisfying dinner that evening.
Rubbing her belly and letting out a content burp, she looked up at the man tidying up the food containers, and two words suddenly popped into her mind.
Dostic god!
"Are you going to Beisen tomorrow?" Li Mochan asked after cleaning up and washing his hands.
Ye Jiuliang shook her head, "Grounded for a week."
"You’re going to eat this every day?" Li Mochan frowned, pointing to the vegetarian dishes on the tray.
Ye Jiuliang propped her hands on the table and leaned toward him playfully, "What, are you going to deliver food to ?"
"Is there a reward?" he teased. Can’t be running a losing business, after all.
Ye Jiuliang snorted lightly, "Forget it."
She sat back down in her chair, feeling sleepy after the satisfying al.
"Knock, knock, knock."
Suddenly, the sound of knocking reverberated, Aqiu’s voice coming through.
"Miss Jiuliang, the master has co to see you."
Damn.
Ye Jiuliang sprang up, her gaze sweeping Jing Pavilion, but couldn’t find a suitable hiding spot for Li Mochan.
A quick glance at the empty space under the desk, and she pulled Li Mochan over, pushing him to crouch under the desk, "You hide in here for now." Getting caught would be disastrous.
Li Mochan looked disgusted, "You want to hide here?"
"Or would you prefer to leave?" Ye Jiuliang smirked impishly.
