"Uhm...Rhane," Jenna brushed her fingers through her hair, fixing her towel with her free hand. She hadn’t expected to see him inside her room, which was why she stuttered.
Rhane raised his face, walking over to the couch. He picked a bigger jacket and donned it over Jenna’s body. "It’s cold," his voice a low rasp.
Jenna inhaled sharply when Rhane’s fingers brushed against the nape of her skin, which was sensitive. She felt warm just standing close to him, the heat emitting from his body when he raised his hand and covered her whole body. Jenna almost moved her hand around his waist to wrap him in a hug. There was just sothing triggering about Rhane being close to her, sothing that tickled her inside.
What could it be? What was this feeling?
"Ehm," the young woman that had been in the room cleared her throat, "I feel like I’m interrupting sothing, should I maybe leave?" she gestured her hand towards the door.
Jenna blinked and moved back. "Thank you, Rhane," she muttered. She took the jacket from Rhane’s hand, not without their fingers brushing against each other’s, causing Jenna to shudder.
Rhane didn’t move from his position, neither did his eyes leave Jenna’s body until she covered herself properly. He noticed how she refused to et his eyes.
"Whew," the young woman exhaled. "Is this so kind of forbidden love between a servant and master?"
Jenna raised her face, her eyes widened not from shock but fear. Did her lust get exposed? "No! Why...I didn’t do anything!"
"Your actions say the opposite," the young woman shrugged, twitching her lips.
Jenna stared at Rhane’s shoes. She didn’t want to look at him, afraid that her feelings would be seen in her eyes. There was just sothing about the young man that made Jenna weak in her knees. And if it wasn’t that the man from the previous night was rough, she would have believed it was Rhane. He made her feel giddy in her stomach with just a re jacket.
Yet the difference between the man from the previous night and Rhane was clear as spring. Rough as a boar, soft as a ripe peach. It just couldn’t be, and she had to rember that Rhane was too innocent for her to look at him with lust. Jenna dropped her shoulder and sighed.
The young woman, Kali, sighed, walking around the room. "Well, that was sothing," she pointed at Jenna and Rhane, a mischievous grin on her lips when her eyes fell on Rhane.
"So, you were offering sothing to do it for a night with the Scourge?"
Jenna gasped with her hand covering her mouth, "What? Shh!" she tried to plead with the brazen young woman.
"Did I hear you wrong?" she asked, shaking her head. "I’m sure I heard you clearly, you want to have one night with him. That could only an one thing, don’t tell you just wanted to talk." Kali scowled, rubbing her fingers. She walked stealthily towards Rhane and Jenna.
"You must really be one fearless woman to willingly give your body to the Scourge, don’t you think?" she rubbed her thumb on Rhane’s shoulder.
Rhane didn’t flinch, his eyes didn’t move from Jenna’s nervous face. She tried to stop the woman from saying anything more.
"You don’t need to say sothing like that in front of him," Jenna whispered, biting her lower lip. She had already embarrassed herself enough in front of Rhane.
Kali raised her brows, "Why? Does it bother you what a re servant thinks?" she pressed Rhane’s arm and purred, "And I really think your servant is fit...tell , do you two—"
"Leave the room, Rhane." Jenna ordered, walking towards the door. She opened it and moved to the side, her eyes on Rhane’s hand where Kali held tightly. She didn’t like it at all.
Kali moved her hand up and slowly backed away from Rhane. "I feel like I just got stabbed with those eyes."
Rhane turned and quietly walked out of the room. This ti, he didn’t look at Jenna’s face.
Once Rhane was out, Jenna closed the door and pressed her back on it with her hands on her chest.
"Are you okay?" Kali kicked the air, her head tilted to the side, almost reaching her shoulder as she tried to check Jenna’s face. "Is that a blush I see?"
Jenna rubbed her cheeks, hitting the back of her head on the door.
"Wait, do you perhaps like this servant of yours? Was he the man from last night that ate you up like a wolf would?" Kali pressed her lips to stop herself from laughing, but her eyes betrayed her.
Jenna pouted, moving away from the door. "It wasn’t Rhane. Did you not see how soft he was...and so protective of ?"
"But you wish it was him...you wish he was the one handling you roughly, no?" Kali slumped on the couch and crossed her leg. "A gentle dove by day and a ferocious beast by night."
Jenna didn’t reply, but the blood that rushed up to her face made it obvious. "It can’t be Rhane. He...he is a little special."
"I noticed," Kali replied. "I an, not every man has it...muscle, form and scar. And remains soft."
Jenna nodded along with the woman’s words, but when she realized herself, she shook her head. "Wait, what? No!" she knocked her forehead. "What I ant was that Rhane doesn’t think like you know...other n."
"You an thinking through his third leg?" Kali nodded. "I noticed that much."
Jenna exhaled tiredly. "What are you- I an, he has the brain of a child!" tired of the girl’s straightforward way of speaking.
Kali raised her brows, her lips curled slightly, but she didn’t smile. "Then I guess the Scourge has never killed before," she replied with a dry tone, her sarcasm flying over Jenna’s head.
"That is why I have to stop being distracted. I bashed other won who tried to use him in the past, but now I just..." Jenna pressed her palms together.
Kali scoffed, "Don’t worry, Lady, we always end up becoming what we judge," she offered Jenna a half smile.
"Is that supposed to make feel better?" Jenna couldn’t help but ask.
Kali nodded, "I don’t know, did it?"
Tired of the woman and her way of speaking, Jenna rummaged through her bag for her dress. "What are you even doing here? Who are you?" she paused. "And why are you talking like we are close?"
Kali pushed her feet down, revealing her heavy boots. "This is why I never help people," she shrugged. "If you’re done, let’s get ready to move. You are to be trained on how to serve the Scourge."
"Serve?" Jenna asked with a frown. "I ca here for business."
Kali tutted, shaking her head at Jenna’s ignorance. "You ca here as a prize, Lady. He won you...now he is going to claim you."
