"Hit soone?" White Rabbit was a little surprised, Tengu's driving was known for being steady.

"Soone suddenly rushed out," Tengu looked a bit innocent, "I braked as fast as I could, but still hit him."

"I think I saw it too." Gao Yang had just seen a figure suddenly appear, and he quickly pressed down the car window to look out. It was one in the morning, and the streets of the old city were quiet and deserted. There was a figure lying motionless in the middle of the road under the car lights, and it was unclear whether they were alive or dead.

"What should we do?" Tengu asked.

"Let's go, forget about it," Wu Dahai said coldly, "It's probably just a beast. If it's dead, then so be it."

"No." White Rabbit's face darkened, "You forgot that we don't kill the Lost Ones."

"He suddenly ran out by himself!" Wu Dahai shrugged, "He didn't follow the traffic rules and blas us. Besides, are you sure he's definitely a Lost One? What if he's another beast? Wouldn't it be better to kill him?"

"Well," Gao Yang pulled his head back in from the car window, "There's a traffic light at the intersection ahead."

In other words, there were surveillance caras here, and a hit-and-run would definitely be investigated, causing unnecessary trouble.

White Rabbit sighed, put on her zodiac mask again, quickly put on her shoes and socks, "Let's go down and take a look. If he's alive, we'll take him to the hospital. If he's dead, we'll call an ambulance to collect the body. We are law-abiding citizens, we'll follow the procedure."

The four of them put on their masks and got out of the car.

Tengu and Wu Dahai walked ahead, with Gao Yang and White Rabbit following behind. They slowly approached, keeping an eye on their surroundings in case of any ambush.

As a precaution, Gao Yang quietly activated the System in his mind to confirm that his lucky gains had not doubled, and then he felt more at ease.

"Hey, are you okay?" Wu Dahai stepped forward and asked the person on the ground.

Gao Yang walked closer and saw that it was a red-haired man, wearing a thin hospital gown, lying in a pool of his own blood. It looked like he had been hit pretty hard, with blood all over his face and his features blurred.

When he heard the voice, the man's body trembled, and he slowly reached out a hand, "Help, help , I don't want to die..."

The four of them breathed a sigh of relief - he wasn't dead.

"What are you doing running around in the middle of the night? This car has no eyes, do you want to die..." Wu Dahai scolded with his hands on his hips.

"Alright, stop talking, saving him is the priority," White Rabbit's voice was a bit impatient, she hated getting sidetracked.

Tengu and Wu Dahai stepped forward to check his injuries, confirming that they weren't too serious. They helped him up, with one of them supporting his arm, and slowly walked back to the car.

"Ah! It hurts, be gentle..." The man kept moving around because of the pain.

"Endure it, get in the car!" Wu Dahai was very disdainful, "Don't move around, you're getting my clothes dirty!"

Gao Yang opened the back door, and Tengu looked at him, "You help him down, I'll go drive."

"Okay." Gao Yang stepped forward, about to help the man, when suddenly a chill ran from the back of his heel to the top of his head - a heavy sense of killing intent!

What's going on? There's clearly no enemy around! Could the killing intent be coming from the man in front of him?

Gao Yang didn't have ti to think about it, and instinctively made a probing move. He asked, "Are you okay?"

"It hurts, I feel... I can't make it..." The man's voice was full of pain.

When Gao Yang asked the question, he activated his Talent, Lie Detector, and imdiately ca to a conclusion.

- He was lying.

Gao Yang slowly pulled back his hand, not saying a word, and looked at Wu Dahai and Tengu with a subtle look in his eyes.

The teammates imdiately understood, quickly let go of the red-haired man, and stepped back to a safe distance. The red-haired man, without their support, fell to the ground, groaning incoherently.

"What's going on?" Wu Dahai asked Gao Yang while taking a defensive stance.

Tengu didn't say anything, but reached out his right hand, coldly aiming at the man on the ground, ready to attack at any mont.

"He's lying," Gao Yang said in a deep voice.

White Rabbit stepped forward, "How can you be sure?"

At this point, Gao Yang didn't have ti to hide it anymore, "Actually... I have another Talent, Lie Detector."

White Rabbit, Tengu, and Wu Dahai were all very familiar with the ability of Lie Detector, and imdiately believed Gao Yang.

"I'll settle the score with you for hiding your abilities later," White Rabbit was very displeased, she looked at the man on the ground, "Stop pretending, who are you? What do you want to do? Who sent you?"

The man lying on the ground stopped groaning, slowly stood up, bowed his head, and remained silent.

After a brief standoff, he suddenly couldn't help but laugh out loud, his smile was sickly and manic, "Haha, too bad, almost fell for it."

The man stretched his muscles and joints, making a "crackling" sound, and wiped the blood off his face with force, revealing a sinister face with bloodshot eyes, severe burns on the left side of his face, and a grotesque ugliness.

White Rabbit's eyes were cold, a hint of killing intent rising in her eyes, "I'll ask one last ti, who are you? What do you want to do? Who sent..."

"Do you think you're in the advantageous position?" The man arrogantly interrupted White Rabbit, pointing at the four of them, "1, 2, 3, 4, 4 against 1, I'll win for sure! Is that what you're thinking, huh?"

White Rabbit frowned, hesitating whether to attack directly.

Gao Yang was also very puzzled, where did the other party's confidence co from? If he really had absolute strength to crush the four of them, then he wouldn't need to go to such lengths to deceive them, just like Fighting Tiger's "test".

Suddenly, Gao Yang shivered, grasping the key information: the red-haired man lied to get close to them, could his winning hand be in getting close...Gao Yang had no ti for deep thought; the red-haired man rolled up his sleeve, revealing his right hand, which was skinless all the way to the forearm, exposing dark red muscle tissue, like a hand made of red wax.

The man's lips curled into a cold smirk, his right hand clenched into a fist, "Explode."

The air froze for half a second.

"Boom boom—"

Two explosions rang out beside Gao Yang's ears. By the ti he ca to his senses, White Rabbit had already tackled him to the ground.

Gao Yang got up to find himself seven or eight ters away from the car. On the road beside the vehicle, there were two bloodied figures, with blood splattered all around, steaming with warm blood mist and white smoke, the air filled with the scent of blood and gunpowder.

Gao Yang was startled!

Those two people were Wu Dahai and Tengu. Wu Dahai lay on the ground, his entire right arm gone, blood gushing out in torrents from the shoulder socket, and he had already passed out.

Tengu was sprawled on the ground, a fist-sized bloody hole in his back, gushing blood. He was still clinging to consciousness but had lost the ability to move; his blood-stained eyes blinked weakly.

Gao Yang finally realized: it was their bodies that had exploded!

Shock, fear, anger... a mix of complex emotions intertwined, assaulting Gao Yang's reason. He stood rooted to the spot, at a loss for what to do.

Was this the slaughter among Awakened Beings?

The law of the jungle, danger at every turn, uncertainty of life from one day to the next.

When Gao Yang snapped back to reality, White Rabbit kicked her legs and shot towards the red-haired man like an arrow.

Her life-and-death teammates lay before her eyes, but she had no ti for hesitation, grief, or weakness. She knew all too well that only by counterattacking with all her might and defeating the enemy swiftly could there be a chance to save her teammates.

The red-haired man hadn't expected White Rabbit to be so fast. She covered the distance of over ten ters in less than half a second, "appearing" before him. By the ti his eyes caught sight of White Rabbit, she was already in mid-air, her foot lashing out at him.

The red-haired man quickly raised his right hand to protect his head, but the ferocious kick landed on his forearm, instantly fracturing it. With a crisp sound, the arm struck his head, which couldn't withstand the powerful force and dragged his body as it flew sideways.

The red-haired man rolled on the ground five or six tis before stopping. He felt the world spinning, his brain in turmoil. But he dared not relax, dragging his bloodied body up at breakneck speed, with White Rabbit giving him no chance to catch his breath as she charged again.

The red-haired man's fractured right hand dangled; he clenched it with all his might.

"Boom—"

White Rabbit leaned forward, her legs bent, about to initiate a [Jump], when suddenly a ping-pong ball-sized hole exploded in her right calf. Losing her balance, White Rabbit fell heavily.

"Ah..." White Rabbit clutched her right leg, her face deathly pale.
