Having left the brightness of the glorious city, Lin Fei hailed a cab straight ho.
By the ti he arrived at the gate of Rongjing Garden villa, it was nearing midnight.
Upon pushing the door open, Lin Fei found Mu Shanshan eating fruit in the living room, seemingly waiting for him.
Having had his mont with Shen Lexuan interrupted by Mu Shanshan, Lin Fei couldn’t help but feel sowhat disgruntled, but for so reason, he just couldn’t get angry with Mu Shanshan.
Maybe I was born to be overpowered by her.
Lin Fei, resigned to his fate, composed his emotions, and returned to his nonchalant deanor.
He walked into the living room and sat down beside Mu Shanshan.
“Honey, calling
back so late, have you finally co to your senses and decided to share a bed with ?”
Mu Shanshan didn’t get angry at Lin Fei’s teasing.
Instead, she regarded him with curious eyes, “You’re actually not mad?”
“Why should I be mad?”
“I must have interrupted sothing important between you and Director Shen.”
“You know about that,” Lin Fei shrugged and said with a helpless smile, “Well, it’s interrupted.
What can I do about it?
You’re my wife, and you co first.”
Seeing Lin Fei react so amiably unexpectedly made Mu Shanshan feel conflicted.
On one hand, she was displeased with the growing closeness between Lin Fei and Shen Lexuan, and on the other, she found herself inexplicably happy that Lin Fei would leave Shen Lexuan to return ho just for her call.

“Your grandfather called , said he had sothing to tell you, that’s why I called you back.”

This news was more shocking to Lin Fei than hearing that the sun actually revolved around Earth.
Ever since Lin Fei left his grandfather, he had never received a call from him, not even once.
It was always Lin Fei who called to report his safety.
Grandpa actually called , Lin Fei thought excitedly.
But why did he call Mu Shanshan’s phone?
Who cares, maybe old age has blurred his vision, and he just redialed the last incoming call.
Lin Fei took Mu Shanshan’s phone and returned the call.
If Grandpa was reaching out proactively, it must be for sothing important.
The phone rang twice, and then, unprecedentedly, it was picked up, “Lin Fei”.
“It’s ,” Lin Fei quickly responded, agitated, “You know, Grandpa, you could have just called
directly.”
“Oh, your number, I was going to call it, but then I pressed the wrong button and deleted it.”
“…” Lin Fei let out a long sigh, “Grandpa, please be more careful in the future.
What did you want to talk about?”
“Be more cautious in the future.”
“What happened?”
Lin Fei asked, lowering his voice.
“The enemy may have targeted you.”
Enemy?
Lin Fei felt a surprising unease.
He had many enemies indeed, but his grandfather shouldn’t know about them since he never involved himself in Lin Fei’s external dealings.
But this ssage took on a different aning coming from his grandfather.
Lin Fei considered himself fearless except in regard to his own grandfather, and now that very man warned him to be on guard, the threat must be ominous indeed.
