Chapter 1521: Chapter 1525: Succession of the Sect Leader

Lin Fei was cultivating when he heard knocking at the door. Radar ntioned that the Elders wanted to discuss sothing with him, prompting Lin Fei to finish his cultivation and open the door, only to find all the Elders of the Beidou Sect waiting for him, causing him to be a bit stunned.

"Elders, you’ve co looking for , Lin Fei. Is there sothing you need?" Lin Fei was curious. It was rare for an Elder to reach out on regular days, and today, have they gone crazy? What could have happened that’s so significant for them to all co together?

Moreover, even if sothing major happened, it wouldn’t require seeking him out since he’s just a regular disciple, while Leng Daoqiu is still with the Beidou Sect and should be consulted on any issues.

The Great Elder of the Beidou Sect handed a letter to Lin Fei and explained its origin.

"This letter was left by the previous Sect Leader for us to give to you. It details so matters concerning the future of the Beidou Sect. Please take a look, and then we have matters to discuss with you."

Lin Fei accepted the letter, opened the envelope, and found the contents within to be unmistakably the notes of the Sect Leader Master.

He skimd through and finally understood the truth of the situation. Liu Muqing initially regarded him as the next Sect Leader to be ntored, and the reason Liu Muqing did this was because of matters in the Upper Realm.

It turned out that Liu Muqing had been to the Upper Realm and received a startling piece of news—that he was not an orphan, but the biological son of a Dou Sect Elder.

Years ago, the Dou Sect Master traveled the world and fell in love with a woman at so location. However, the Dou Sect Master eventually left, and the woman gave birth to a baby boy and later died due to so affairs.

The baby boy was found by the Dou Sect Master and brought back to the Beidou Sect.

The Dou Sect Master was wholeheartedly devoted to the sect, adopting the baby boy as a disciple and teaching him earnestly. When the boy reached his early twenties, the Dou Sect Master sent him to the Beidou Sect to be apprenticed under him.

Later, the Master Brother left the Lower Realm and ascended to the Upper Realm. Liu Muqing, through unparalleled efforts, eventually succeeded in breaking the barriers of the world and entered the Upper Realm.

But upon arrival in the Upper Realm, he received that shocking news, which deeply moved him, leading Liu Muqing to bid farewell to Master Brother Dugu Aotian, who hadn’t expected Liu Muqing would return to the Lower Realm.

He ca back with resentnt towards the sect but kept the knowledge of the affair to himself, living with a deep hatred toward the disciples of Beidou Sect.

He felt that if it weren’t for the Beidou Sect, perhaps the Dou Sect Master would recognize him as his son. Without Beidou Sect, the Dou Sect Master could have lived joyfully with his mother and him.

It was entirely due to the Beidou Sect that they couldn’t acknowledge each other.

Eventually, after the Dou Sect Master succeeded in ascending to the Upper Realm, he noticed the hatred in Liu Muqing’s eyes as he left, seemingly grasping sothing, and expressed hopes that Liu Muqing wouldn’t hold resentnt towards the Beidou Sect, as it was his nurturing sect.

However, Liu Muqing seed indifferent to the Dou Sect Master’s words and went on to sternly oversee the disciples of the whole Beidou Sect, binding them to focus solely on cultivation, creating the peculiar scene Lin Fei observed.

And during the subsequent Martial Arts Tournant, Liu Muqing appeared determined to resolve grudges with Murong Linfeng, passing on the leadership position to Lin Fei.

This was all a preditated plot.

Lin Fei seed to resonate with Liu Muqing’s sentints, putting the letter away, which ultimately nad Lin Fei as the next Sect Leader of Beidou Sect.

By now, Lin Fei understood the Elders’ intent in visiting him.

Already aware of his status as a waste, being unable to cultivate as an Ancient Martial Artist inevitably invited labels of worthlessness.

The pressing issue was Lin Fei being already designated by Liu Muqing as the next Sect Leader, requiring them to address Lin Fei’s situation. Despite dismissing the letter, predicting subsequent events was impossible.

So Lin Fei realized that the Elders were here seeking his opinion; he understood the answer they desired.

Having a waste as a Sect Leader garnered no approval. Approaching Lin Fei for his stance simply sought his oral concession to give up the Sect Leader post and allow them to appoint a new leader for Beidou Sect.

However...

Lin Fei intended to reject their notion. So, he smiled and addressed the Elders, saying, "I understand the purpose of your visit, realizing Liu Muqing’s decision, and second brother’s wise choice. I agree to beco the Sect Leader of Beidou Sect."

"Exactly, Lin Fei, even if you don’t beco the Sect Leader of Beidou Sect, we will certainly treat you well, ensuring no hardship befalls you. You’ll be Beidou Sect’s esteed guest indefinitely," an Elder responded imdiately after Lin Fei spoke, seemingly mishearing Lin Fei, thinking he had forfeited the leadership position.

Yet once he noticed the silent Elders in the surroundings, he turned to look at Lin Fei confusedly.

Lin Fei offered a light grin, "You might not have understood. Let

reiterate: since you’ve brought this letter hoping I’d be the Sect Leader of Beidou Sect, then I accept. I’m willing to be the next Sect Leader of Beidou Sect."

Upon hearing Lin Fei’s words, everyone understood clearly, but the Elders’ faces turned solemn, evidently displeased, as they derived simple expectations of Lin Fei relinquishing the position, which they preferred.

Despite this, Lin Fei didn’t let go but consented to their unspoken request, intending to beco the Sect Leader of Beidou Sect, frustrating everyone.

"Ah... Lin Fei, considering your circumstance, you are injured now..." one Elder tentatively tried altering Lin Fei’s decision.

Nevertheless, Lin Fei was resolute, given second brother’s trust in him, he couldn’t deceive Liu Muqing’s hopes, understanding that Liu Muqing eventually couldn’t foster resentnt towards his sect, hence stepping forward as the Sect Leader.

"I am aware of my injuries, so let’s delay the ceremony. Once my wounds heal, it wouldn’t be too late to proceed," Lin Fei said with a smile, causing the Elders’ faces to darken, signaling a looming outburst.
