Chapter 1393: Chapter 1397: The Shortcut

A few n from the streets were preparing to gang up on the security guards, which attracted quite a bit of attention. However, if they knew that all the security guards here were from the Special Forces, who knows what they’d think.

The security guard watched as these n ca toward him. He didn’t care and simply said, "If all of you want to go in, then you need to bring all your ID cards here; not even one person can be missing."

"Not even one? Screw you! Get him! Smash him!" Everyone rushed forward simultaneously, yet the security guard didn’t react as imagined. Instead, he called out to the security office, and in an instant, a group of security guards dashed out of the office, each holding a baton, surrounding the n.

"An eye for an eye, you decided to gang up, after all," the security guard said.

At that point, the n were already frightened, seeing the guards surrounding them; none dared to move forward. They huddled together, too afraid to move.

"Hey, Security Bro, I-I was just joking. We ca here just to see how good the security was here. Honestly didn’t expect you guys to be so cool, we’re in awe..." The man who first gave the order spoke.

"Enough of the nonsense; trespassing in the villa area and attacking security—all of it was caught on surveillance. Now you’re our prey; how can we make hoowners feel safe without giving you a lesson?" said the security guard, leading the others to surround the gangsters once more, completely overwhelming them.

Screams erupted, and people wanted to see what happened to those surrounded by the security guards, but the guards were too many, completely encircling the group in a human wall, making it impossible to see inside.

Soon, the guards retreated, leaving a few n on the ground, who were then individually dragged out and tossed by the roadside. The villa area returned to its normal state with only one security guard on duty.

"Shanshan, when are you coming ho?" Lin Fei called Mu Shanshan, asking.

Mu Shanshan was busy at the mont and replied, "Probably another hour or so, I’ve got a lot going on lately. In the anti, you can start making dinner at ho."

"You’ve turned

into a servant, huh? Actually making

do won’s work," Lin Fei complained.

"What can I do? How about you co to work at the company instead? You could handle the company matters, and I’d stay ho cooking, waiting for you to get off work?" Mu Shanshan said with a chuckle.

"Forget it, really, forget it. I’ll just stick to cooking at ho, while you focus on your work. No need to worry about ho." Lin Fei felt he wasn’t cut out for office work; managing affairs requires brains, and he thought brains are great, but they also need rest from ti to ti, right?

Two hours later, Mu Shanshan returned ho, parked her car in the courtyard. As she got out of the car, she was followed by three people: Mu Shanshan, Xia Xue, and Xue i, inseparable as they always fought for the company.

Xia Xue, still her usual self, upon seeing Lin Feizhi, completely forgot her fatigue, ran up to Lin Fei, and threw herself into his arms, nearly suffocating him with her embrace.

Luckily, soone sensible was around, as Xue i stopped Xia Xue, allowing Lin Fei to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Sis, if you like Lin Fei, why act so reserved? It won’t help your relationship," Xia Xue teased.

Xue i laughed awkwardly and said, "What nonsense, hurry up and help!" After all, Mu Shanshan was there; if Xia Xue spoke like this, it’d make Mu Shanshan uncomfortable.

However, Mu Shanshan’s tolerance exceeded Xue i’s expectations; he acted as if he didn’t hear anything and continued playing with Lin An. Soon, dishes were served, and before eating, Lin Fei asked, "By the way, Shanshan, have you been back to Zhonghai to see how Mom and Dad are doing?"

Mu Shanshan shook her head and said, "No, I’ve been pretty busy lately. But Dad ca to see

a few days ago, saying there’s nothing much happening at ho, no need for us to worry."

Ever since Mu Shanshan and the others moved to the new villa, their previous ho was still occupied by Mu Hong; he said he was used to living there and didn’t want to co and join the crowd.

"Then I’ll go check on them tomorrow," Lin Fei said.

"That sounds good, let’s eat, and we’ll discuss tomorrow’s plans tomorrow. I’m starving," Mu Shanshan said, picking up a piece of food with her chopsticks, placing it in her tender mouth, savoring it slowly, and praised Lin Fei warmly, filling Lin Fei with joy.

In the evening, it beca a sleepless night for Lin Fei; after a long night of staying up, he woke up the next morning, tidied up a bit, and after preparing breakfast, called the two kids down to eat. As for Mu Shanshan and the others, they had already left; early departures and late returns had beco routine. Lin Fei was left with good food to eat at night otherwise, he’d just have to make do, and the two kids had to be sent to their grandfather’s house for care.

"Lin An, eat well, and Keke, finish up quickly so you won’t be late for class," Lin Fei urged, watching the kids eat. It really stressed him out, especially with Lin An, the eager little rascal, who couldn’t sit still, making Lin Fei helpless.

"Dad, don’t worry. It takes about ten minutes to get to school from here. We still have 15 minutes to eat, so no rush." Keke said.

"What if there’s a traffic jam?" Lin Fei chuckled; children have such simple thoughts.

"Traffic jam’s no biggie, we know the back roads, and can get there within ten minutes." Keke boasted.

Lin Fei chuckled at this, not dismissing the kids’ words entirely, but not taking them to heart either. After eating, there were still more than ten minutes left for class. Lin Fei imdiately took them, heading for school.

However, at that mont in New City, it was peak rush hour for office workers, and there were too many people taking their kids to school, resulting in traffic jams, just as Lin Fei predicted. Lin Fei really hated his own mouth, but since it was jamd, there was no choice but to slowly inch forward.

As ti ticked away, Keke and Lin An grew anxious inside the car. Keke finally opened the car door, turning to Lin Fei and said, "Dad, we’re taking the back road to school!"

Lin Fei hurriedly said, "Back road? Where’s this back road? Is it safe?"

"No worries, Dad, look, everyone is taking the back road to school. Dad, head back, no point in waiting. We’re going!" Keke grabbed Lin An and ran towards an alley.
