Chapter 1243: Chapter 1246: Opening the Dantian
Lin Fei sat in the darkness, the Heaven and Earth Qi continuously gathering at his lower abdon, forming a tiny particle, which gradually grew larger, from the size of a bean, to a ping-pong ball, and eventually to the size of a fist.
Gradually, from the surface of the Qi-ford sphere, tiny threads extended, connecting to Lin Fei’s eight extraordinary ridians and countless hidden ridians.
At this mont, Lin Fei’s state was akin to a key unlocking a treasure; everything fell into place due to the infusion of Heaven and Earth Qi, and Lin Fei’s body was completely activated.
At this point, Lin Fei felt different, as if he had transcended.
Unknowingly, Lin Fei did not realize this change; under this transformation, it was as if his body reached a state of balance, able to go without food or drink, as if all tabolic needs had halted.
Ti flew by, and in the blink of an eye, three months had passed. Lin Fei sat in the pitch-black space, unaware of the passage of ti, but outside, the Master of the Dou Sect was sowhat anxious. If he hadn’t sensed Lin Fei’s body was fine, he would have thought Lin Fei had died.
“This kid is astonishing once he breaks his silence; staying in there for three months—it’s impossible, even for an Ancient Martial Artist. I really wonder how he managed it.”
The Master of the Dou Sect waited outside, month after month, until finally, he sensed Lin Fei’s movent.
At this mont, Lin Fei opened his eyes, but he imdiately felt sothing strange in his body.
Gurgle.
His stomach growled, prompting Lin Fei to rub it. He felt that if he didn’t eat soon, he might starve, but then he noticed sothing amiss. There seed to be sothing more in his lower abdon!
“What’s this?” Lin Fei exclaid in surprise.
Though he couldn’t see it, he distinctly felt sothing occupying his lower abdon, seemingly ford from the convergence of Heaven and Earth Qi, even feeling his body brimming with this Qi.
“Wasn’t I unable to grasp the Heaven and Earth Qi? Why has it now settled within ?” Lin Fei wondered.
Just then, a voice ca, saying, “Lin Fei, congratulations on becoming a true Ancient Martial Artist. From today on, you are one of them.”
“What? I’ve beco an Ancient Martial Artist?” Lin Fei exclaid in shock.
At that mont, the source of the voice approached from afar—it was the Master of the Dou Sect, each step illuminating the surroundings until he reached Lin Fei, as if he was the source of light.
At this mont, Lin Fei could also feel the Master’s power, the Heaven and Earth Qi surrounding him evoking a sense of awe.
“Do you know what that thing in your abdon is?” the Master asked.
Lin Fei was also puzzled. That fist-sized thing felt like a container, holding the Heaven and Earth Qi, with tendrils connecting to his body, allowing him to sense it clearly.
“What is this? How is it so magical?” Lin Fei asked.
“It’s called a Dantian, and it’s the distinction you first knew between ordinary people and Ancient Martial Artists. By unlocking your Dantian, you’ve stepped from being ordinary into becoming an Ancient Martial Artist,” the Master explained.
“A Dantian? Does everyone have one?” Lin Fei asked.
He had gleaned so information from the elder, knowing that unlocking the Dantian suggested it existed within everyone from the start, hence his question.
“That’s right, everyone has a Dantian. It’s like how humans could naturally fly, but since no one has harnessed that power, they end up unable to fly,” the Master explained.
Lin Fei pouted, “Old man, we can stretch the truth, but isn’t that taking it too far? Humans can naturally fly? Why don’t you try flying then?”
The Master chuckled and said, “You’ll understand so things in the future. Explaining more now is pointless. Just know the Dantian’s importance.”
Lin Fei nodded but still had questions, asking, “What is the end for an Ancient Martial Artist? Can you tell ?”
“Well…” the Master mused and said, “You know, only those who can touch the Heaven and Earth Qi qualify to be Ancient Martial Artists, yet this is rely a qualification. True Ancient Martial Artists are those who can unlock their Dantian, and as for what lies beyond, let
borrow Qiu Lin’s phrase: ‘The Buddha said it cannot be spoken, cannot be spoken…'”
Lin Fei grinned awkwardly, “Why don’t you just say secrets of the heavens mustn’t be revealed!”
“I did intend to say that. We indeed are of the Taoist lineage, you know? ‘Secrecy of the heavens mustn’t be revealed’ is our creed. Buddha’s sayings irritate , but my old age failed
montarily,” the Master explained.
Seeing the Master seriously babble on amusingly, Lin Fei was speechless, yet he understood the Master retained a playful heart, one reason he apprenticed under him—not so rigid, less pressured.
“Alright, we won’t say more. Now that you’re an Ancient Martial Artist, prepare to accompany
for a trial,” the Master said.
“Huh?”
Lin Fei’s face fell, “Master, do we still need a trial? I’ve beco an Ancient Martial Artist, why must there be a trial? Besides, I’m your disciple, if I fail terribly, wouldn’t that embarrass you? So let’s skip it, okay? The trial’s just a formality, isn’t it?”
Hearing this, the Master chuckled and said, “You can skip the trial if you ask
for it, admitting you’re afraid you might fail, and then I might consider excusing you.”
Lin Fei chuckled, “Really?” He preferred avoiding it if possible, having beco an Ancient Martial Artist, yet knew no techniques; getting wiped out in a trial would nullify everything.
So, after the Master nodded, Lin Fei imdiately said, “Master, I’m scared! Really scared!”
If a few soft words could evade the trial, he’d say them for safety, passing first was his thought.
