Chapter 1146: Chapter 1148: Invitation
Originally Brusak was planning to cause a disturbance at the conference when Barrett Berry called on him to speak. He didn’t care about the consequences, as long as it made Barrett Berry uncomfortable, he would be satisfied, even if it ant dying!
Thus, when Barrett Berry didn’t let him speak, he slamd the table and stood up. However, the image quickly vanished from everyone’s eyes. Just three seconds later, when the image reappeared, Brusak was no longer in the original place. Besides Brusak, the two bodyguards behind him were also missing. As for Hadesman, he sighed and said, "Sorry, brothers, Chief Brusak didn’t want to bid farewell to you, so he left in anger. I’m sure you all saw that."
At this mont, a rcenary group mber walked over and said, "Chief, the image just disappeared for a few seconds."
Hadesman nodded and said, "It might be because Chief Brusak just slamd the table, causing so issue with the line, but it’s fine now, right?"
The rcenary acknowledged and then left, while Barrett Berry said, "Hadesman, congratulations on your wedding. Brusak must be feeling bad. Why don’t you go check on him, so he doesn’t feel too sad."
Hadesman nodded, turned around, and walked away. When he saw Brusak lying on the ground with his throat slashed, he felt a sense of regret. He didn’t know what his future life would be like, and he was worried that Barrett Berry might backtrack, leaving him with nothing and unable to leave here.
But then he saw soone approaching him—it was Lin Fei.
"Hadesman, you did very well," Lin Fei said.
Hearing Lin Fei’s praise, Hadesman felt flattered and a bit fearful at the sa ti. He replied, "Sir, may I leave now?"
Lin Fei shook his head and said, "You cannot leave."
Hadesman sighed, realizing his life was indeed not his own. He figured he was too naive, but since Barrett Berry had finished speaking, he didn’t want to say anything more. After all, he had no right to say anything else, and others already saw him as a woman who betrayed her brothers and fled.
Seeing Hadesman’s helpless expression, Lin Fei smiled and said, "I invite you to join us under the na of my rcenary group’s leader. Are you willing?"
After hearing Lin Fei’s words, Hadesman was montarily stunned and didn’t react. When he finally did, he almost exclaid, "Sir, are you serious?"
Lin Fei nodded.
Hadesman felt as if he had ascended from hell to heaven. It was indescribable. Hadesman didn’t know how powerful Lin Fei was, but judging from Barrett Berry’s attitude towards Lin Fei, Lin Fei seed even more formidable. So when Hadesman heard Lin Fei inviting him to join his rcenary group, he felt both excited and thrilled.
"Of course I’m willing to join!" Hadesman said.
"That’s good then," Lin Fei said.
At this point, Barrett Berry had walked over and said, "Sir, I believe Hadesman joining your team will make you even stronger."
Lin Fei smiled and said, "I can’t speak much of strength, but I still need your help with allocating five hundred people from Brusak’s controlled rcenary group to . Also, I’ll need so of your wealth. As for how much, you decide."
Lin Fei ca here with the purpose of strengthening the Judgent rcenary Group, where strength is often key, which includes both manpower and wealth. In this world, these two things are vital; sotis, the latter is even more crucial than the forr.
As for why Lin Fei ca here, his reason for assisting Barrett Berry was manpower and wealth. Lin Fei had always said that if he couldn’t recruit, he would find people himself. If he had no money, he would find a way to make money, and if he couldn’t get a mission, he would create one himself. Hence, he made this demand, not fearing Barrett Berry’s refusal as Barrett Berry could conveniently hand over Brusak’s unruly subordinates to Lin Fei.
Moreover, Lin Fei didn’t specify how much wealth he needed, leaving it up to Barrett Berry’s discretion. This further puzzled Barrett Berry on how much was adequate.
"No problem, sir. I’m imnsely grateful for your help in controlling the Gentleman rcenary Group. Not to ntion manpower and resources, if you asked for the position of leader, I wouldn’t say a word in disagreent!" Barrett Berry declared righteously.
Lin Fei laughed, "We are in a cooperative relationship. How could I want your rcenary group? Enough said, since your affairs are settled, we have no reason to stay here. We should be leaving now."
"Ah? So soon, sir?" Barrett Berry asked.
"Why? Is there anything else?"
"No, no," Barrett Berry explained, "I need so ti to prepare what you asked for, and I’m planning a feast in a couple of days. I hope you can attend as you’re the benefactor who brought Lars and
together."
Lin Fei nodded, "Sure, just notify
when the ti cos; I already gave you my card."
"Okay, sir, have a safe journey," Barrett Berry said respectfully. After watching Lin Fei leave, he looked down with a smile. The Gentleman rcenary Group would be his now, and he was so excited that he couldn’t wait to find Lars and share his current elation with her.
However, Barrett Berry knew that appeasing the mbers within the rcenary group, especially those under Brusak’s control, was his priority, not to ntion honoring his commitnt to Lin Fei without delay.
At the sa ti, Barrett Berry called Lars and instructed his n to send her ho. The leader watched his returned daughter with concern. As she settled in, his phone rang—it was that short-statured Barrett Berry whom he looked down on. Yet, he took the call.
"Leader, I would like to invite you to a al tomorrow. I hope you will give
the honor," Barrett Berry, now in control of the Gentleman rcenary Group, spoke with newfound confidence.
But the leader was unaware of what had happened to the rcenary group. He also knew everything about what transpired in the Gentleman rcenary Group, so he snorted coldly, "I don’t know what reason you have to make
attend your banquet!"
Barrett Berry chuckled, very pleased with himself, and then replied, "I invite you to the banquet as your son-in-law, hoping my father-in-law will certainly attend."
