Chapter 1053: Chapter 1055: The Ten Elders

The compound of the ten elder generals is the most secluded place in the main city, and also the largest in terms of area. It is ho to the military’s ten elder generals.

Ordinary people could never get the chance to enter here in their lifeti, not even for cleaning, constructing new buildings, or delivering goods; all those tasks are handled by soldiers. It has four main gates, each tightly secured and heavily guarded by soldiers.

Lin Fei was able to enter after undergoing a full-body check and even changing into a new military uniform. At this mont, he truly looked like a general, and if it weren’t for that perpetual lazy expression, he could have been mistaken for one.

“When are we going to get there? Walking back and forth like this feels like we’re just circling the courtyard. Can we stop going around in circles?” Lin Fei said helplessly.

The officer leading the way was startled and, after casting a deep look at Lin Fei, continued walking forward. Soon, they saw ancient-style buildings everywhere, pavilions, terraces, small bridges, and flowing water, looking exactly like the hos of ancient officials.

At this ti, four elderly n were sitting in a pavilion playing cards; another two were playing chess, and two more were sitting by the lakeside, fishing.

Lin Fei was speechless. From his perspective, it was clear that these ten elders were probably the so-called ten elder generals!

“Report! Lin Fei has brought over!” the leading soldier saluted and said.

However, the elders ignored them and continued with their activities—playing cards, fishing, and chess—completely disregarding Lin Fei.

The other soldiers didn’t move either, standing under the scorching sun, waiting.

Lin Fei looked up at the sun, then began walking towards the gazebo. The leading soldier imdiately stopped him, saying, “Lin Fei, what are you doing?” He instantly pulled out his sidearm.

Looking back at the soldier pointing a gun at him, Lin Fei asked, “What rank are you?”

The soldier was confused and replied, “I’m at the rank of Major General!”

Lin Fei laughed and said, “Then why are you pointing your gun at ? I’m at the rank of Admiral, isn’t this disrespecting your superior?”

The Major General-level officer was taken aback and coldly said, “I’m protecting the elders!”

“Don’t speak nonsense, you’re holding a gun and think you can shoot whoever you want. For all we know, you might shoot one of these old n next. Protecting the Commander, my foot!”

“Lin Fei, stop talking nonsense.” The Major General was flushed with embarrassnt as Lin Fei’s words seed so reasonable.

“Am I talking nonsense? You’re holding a gun now; you can shoot whoever you want. I’m wrong to say that?” Lin Fei laughed.

The Major General quickly said, “But I wouldn’t shoot the Commander!”

Lin sat in the pavilion, shaded from the sun, and said, “The human heart is unpredictable; who knows what you’re thinking. I won’t debate with you, stand there in the sun if you want, but I can’t take such hardship.”

The officer was so angry that he was at a loss for words. Just then, one of the elders playing cards suddenly laughed.

“Ha ha, look at this! The soldier who was once the most disciplined in Mo Country has beco so wild after a few years away. It seems, Old Wu, your decision back then was wrong.”

At this mont, a white-haired elder, with a goatee, fishing turned back and said, “Old Sun, you’ve said this a hundred tis already. Isn’t this kid the one who killed my grandson? Sending him into exile for so many years is a kind of punishnt.”

Hearing this from Elder Wu, Lin Fei’s heart skipped a beat. Elder Wu was saying he killed his grandson, which should refer to Wu Yufeng. But Lin Fei couldn’t understand how the other party knew, and why he wasn’t angry at all after knowing.

The old Sun, whom Elder Wu called, said, “You, old man, with a bunch of sons and grandsons, losing one is nothing, but you nearly killed a pillar of the nation, what are you going to do? Although you proposed making Lin Fei an admiral, that’s hardly a way to compensate Lin Fei.”

Hearing this, Lin Fei was shocked again. His admiral rank was actually suggested by Wu Yufeng’s grandfather? This made him even more puzzled. Could it be that this old man is crazy? He killed his grandson but gave himself a military rank and comndation? Is this so kind of reverse incentive?

Elder Wu sighed, “Old Sun, don’t be so unkind. This kid killed my grandson, but still, he’s my descendant. I am heartbroken about it.”

Then, another elder playing chess suddenly spoke up, “Old Wu, I’ve said before that those grandchildren of yours might not even be your descendants. Let it be if they’re dead.”

Swoosh!

Everyone was stunned. Are these old n really the oldest and most powerful ten elder generals of the Mo Country military? The way they’re speaking, isn’t it a bit too much?

Then, the other elder playing chess spoke, “Old Wei, don’t be disrespectful in front of everyone.” Then the elder said to Song Jiang and others, “You guys can leave now, just leave Lin Fei here.”

“Yes!”

The discipline of the soldiers was unparalleled, and they left imdiately.

At this ti, Elder Sun introduced, “Lin, this is Elder Qin, the top of our ten elder generals, and indeed a descendant of Qin Shi Huang, haha.”

Lin Fei was awe-struck, having never expected that among the ten elder generals, there would be a descendant of Qin Shi Huang, and he was the number one elder among them. This shocked Lin Fei greatly.

Afterward, Elder Sun continued to introduce, “I am the second elder general among the ten, surnad Sun. Naturally, I am a descendant of Sun Wukong.”

“Uh?!”

Lin Fei was stunned.

Elder Sun suddenly laughed and said, “Haha, just kidding, don’t take it seriously. The one whose grandson you killed, that’s Elder Wu. This old man is a vengeful person, but over the years, his temper has improved a lot.”

“The rest are Elder Wei, Elder Tang, Elder Li, Elder Liu, Elder Zhang, Elder Yu, and next door Elder Wang.” Elder Sun said with a tone filled with ease, completely unlike the image of the ten elder generals Lin Fei had imagined.

The final elder introduced, Elder Wang, was dissatisfied, “Old Sun, just because I lived next to you in our younger days, you always introduce

as ‘next door Elder Wang,’ as if afraid others wouldn’t know our relationship.”

Elder Wang’s words imdiately triggered laughter among the other elders.

Elder Sun imdiately scolded, “You, old man Wang, hurry up and pay back the money you lost to

last ti in cards!”

“Old Sun, what are you saying? My mory hasn’t been good lately, sorry.” Elder Wang laughed.

Looking at these ten elders, Lin Fei had the illusion that he had entered a retirent ho, and the imagined ten elder generals were too amiable!
