At this mont, the soundproof barrier had shattered. The young people inside were laughing with malice and schadenfreude.
Seeing Xi Yue and Dr. Wen looking over, they smirked, licking the bloodstains at the corner of their mouth. With a soft, mocking tone, they said, “Dr. Wen, long ti no see. Is this a new classmate? Care to introduce us?”
Wen Jiaquan shuddered. Without saying a word, he grabbed Xi Yue and fled in panic.
Behind them, their laughter grew louder and more unrestrained, as if mocking their cowardice.
They ran for quite a while, not stopping until the sounds faded and the group of students was out of sight. Only then did Wen Jiaquan wipe the cold sweat from his forehead and let out a sigh of relief.
Xi Yue couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Are those students from Heavenly dical Valley?”
“Yes… and no.” Wen Jiaquan gritted his teeth and said, “Those are the troublemakers of our dical academy. Whatever you do, don’t provoke them. Dr. Li has been scared off again. I wonder who will take over as their instructor next.”
By the ti Wen Jiaquan brought Xi Yue to Elder Yu’s courtyard, it was already packed with people.
When Elder Yu noticed Xi Yue, he casually greeted her before furrowing his brow and turning his attention to sothing else, his expression filled with concern.
Xi Yue spotted a middle-aged man lying on the couch in Elder Yu’s living room, his body drenched in blood and his chest rising and falling rapidly. It was Dr. Li, the sa one they had encountered earlier at the Water dicine Departnt’s entrance.
The hall was packed with people, but everyone was focused on treating Dr. Li, crowding around him without sparing a thought to greet Xi Yue or Wen Jiaquan.
However, Xi Yue still felt a chilling gaze directed at her, one filled with deep resentnt and malice.
She turned her head and t i Shuhai’s eyes, which were glaring at her with intensity. When their gazes locked, i Shuhai didn’t hide the expression on his face. Instead, he flashed a sinister smile.
Xi Yue curled the corner of her lips, choosing to ignore i Shuhai. Instead, she followed Wen Jiaquan over to Dr. Li, who was slowly regaining consciousness.
“Help… help ! Ah~! Demon, go away, go away! Don’t kill , please—!”
As soon as Dr. Li opened his eyes, he struggled violently, screaming in panic. His hand swung out, slapping one of the elders across the face. He was completely frantic, acting as though he had lost his mind.
“Calm down, Dr. Li. It’s okay now. You’re safe!”
Elder Yu spoke soothingly as he channeled his spiritual energy into Dr. Li. The cool, revitalizing properties of the water elent gradually cald his frantic emotions, helping him regain composure.
Yet, his face remained deathly pale, his body trembling uncontrollably. It took him a long while before he finally exhaled a deep breath.
Xi Yue couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sympathy as she observed Dr. Li. Despite his age and decent cultivation, he now looked like a frightened, cornered animal—his eyes red and his posture trembling with fear. It was a stark contrast to the confident figure she had expected.
Elder Yu withdrew his spiritual energy with a heavy sigh. “How many tis has it been now?”
The elder who had been slapped by Dr. Li grasped his goatee in anger and exclaid, “These students are utterly out of control! I say such troublemakers should be expelled imdiately…”
“Elder Liang, be careful what you say!” Another elder quickly grabbed the goateed man’s sleeve, his voice full of anxiety. “You should know, we can’t afford to ss with those people. If they find out, they won’t care whether we’re their instructors. The next one to suffer could be you.”
