The severed ridians needed to be reconnected, or else they would impair the agility of Weizhi’s hands in the future.
As he gazed at Xi Yue, who focused on treating his hands, his expression gradually softened, becoming calm and gentle. All the rage and murderous intent that once surrounded him seed to vanish without a trace.
With ti passing peacefully and the world around him calm, he thought to himself that if this person could stay by his side forever, living a life like this would be more than enough— it would be perfect.
He longed for those eyes to gaze at him alone forever, for those hands to touch only him, and for this person to belong to him, and him alone, for all eternity.
Xi Weizhi slowly closed his eyes, suppressing the overwhelming surge of possessiveness, and a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
When Xi Yue looked up, she froze at the sight of his nearly innocent, angelic smile. In disbelief, she asked, “Reconnecting the ridians without full anesthesia—that pain must be unimaginable. How can you still smile?”
Xi Weizhi shook his head and said, “It doesn’t hurt.”
Indeed, it didn’t hurt at all. He seed to be immune to pain, as if he had never truly felt it, or perhaps, as if he had long since beco numb to it.
But the mont Xi Yue told him to leave, the excruciating pain, as if his heart were being torn apart, was sothing he couldn’t endure for even a second.
Though his mories were gone, he knew one thing for certain: only this girl before him was different. Only Xi Yue held a unique and irreplaceable aning for him.
Xi Yue didn’t notice the shift in his emotions. Instead, she spoke coldly, “No matter what happens from now on, don’t ever hurt yourself. Hurting yourself for anyone is the most foolish thing you can do. Do you understand?”
Xi Weizhi nodded, “As long as you don’t like it, I won’t do it.”
His tone remained icy, yet his expression carried an inexplicable innocence and ekness, making him seem strangely pure and gentle.
With his enchanting beauty, he exuded an allure that made one want to bring him the very best of everything the world had to offer.
Xi Yue let out a helpless sigh, realizing that correcting his emotional issues would likely take a great deal of effort.
About an hour later, the severed ridians were fully restored. The soothing water spiritual power enveloped the wounds, and the once mangled palm beca smooth and flawless again.
Under the glow of the crystal light, his long, fair fingers seed like the finest work of art.
Xi Yue thought to herself that, if this were the modern world, these hands would be most suited to gracefully playing the piano.
As she withdrew the silver needles, Xi Yue let out a sigh of relief, only to be imdiately overco by a wave of intense fatigue.
These past few days, she had been busy saving Anling Yao, refining dicine, dealing with the Shadow Protector, and handling matters with Ji Mingyu… After just returning and treating so many people, she was now utterly exhausted.
Seeing the fatigue in her eyes, Xi Weizhi spoke gently, “Xi Yue, why don’t you rest for a while? I’ll wake you when it’s ti for dinner.”
Xi Yue actually didn’t want to sleep. She had just reunited with Jin Zeyu and the others. She still had many questions to ask and many old stories to catch up on.
But Xi Weizhi’s voice seed to carry a magical quality—soft, gentle, and cool, as if she were imrsed in a crystal-clear spring, soothing her so well that she didn’t want to wake up. ꞦΑNꝋᛒĚṧ
Her eyelids slowly drooped, her consciousness fading, until she finally drifted peacefully into sleep.
As he gazed at the young woman peacefully asleep before him, Xi Weizhi reached out, intending to wake her up. But in the end, his hands paused mid-air. Instead, he gently draped a thin blanket over her.
The blazing sun shone brightly, drawing him in with its warmth. Yet, at tis, even the slightest touch felt like it would burn him.
The door creaked open. Zhang Yi’s head appeared, peeking in cautiously. “Xi Yue, are you feeling better now?”
