The re ntion of the young man sent a chill down everyone’s spine.

Despite the fear, Anling Yuan cleared his throat and said, “Xi Yue, you’ve misunderstood.”

“After you left, there’s been constant trouble at Suru Clinic. So even went as far as to drive away patients waiting for treatnt, spreading rumors that you had died in Heavenly dical Valley and would never return.”

“At that ti, Wei Zhi was furious, but he held back, choosing not to kill those troublemakers—he simply had them thrown out. However, our concern grew as ti passed and you still hadn’t returned. Coincidentally, these few young n had been loitering around the clinic in recent days. This morning, they stord in with aggressive intent, and Wei Zhi, thinking they were there to cause more trouble, couldn’t help but act a little too harshly.”

Qian Dazhuang, still upset, retorted, “What nonsense! Even if I was a bit worked up, does that an I look like soone here to cause trouble?”

Zhang Yi glanced at him from the corner of his eyes and snorted. “Not only does he look like soone who cos to make trouble, he looks more like a thug or a hooligan!”

Chen Xiaofeng and Hong An couldn’t help but laugh, agreeing with Zhang Yi’s words.

Qian Dazhuang had grown even taller and more imposing, his face now bulked up with muscle. When he let out a roar with his gruff voice, he had looked every bit the part of a thug.

Qian Dazhuang was so angry he nearly jumped out of his skin. “Bastards! Are you even my brothers? Are you siding with outsiders? Have you all forgotten who nearly killed us?”

Qian Dazhuang had been knocked out from the beating, but when Xi Yue arrived later, he groggily ca to. For a mont, he saw Jin Zeyu and the others, their bodies covered in blood, looking utterly miserable.

They had co so close—so close to dying. Jin Zeyu and the others were on the verge of death.

This left him unable to look at Wei Zhi any differently, no matter how hard he tried.

Anling Yuan coughed again and said, “Weizhi is not an outsider. He is Xi Yue’s younger brother.”

Even though the Anling Family feared Wei Zhi, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of affection for the young man in red.

After all, he was the one who protected the Anling Family and Suru Clinic when Xi Yue was away.

Xi Yue was also startled when she heard this. A hint of regret and sorrow flickered in her eyes.

After spawning at the summit of Cang Mountain, she woke up in an unfamiliar world, with only Little Red Bird and Wei Zhi by her side.

At first, she might have kept her distance from Wei Zhi, wary and guarded. But as they spent more ti together, she had co to see him as family.

Throughout their journey, she saw how Wei Zhi protected her, relied on her, and followed her every word without hesitation, giving everything he had.

In a fit of anger, she had told him to leave. But upon realizing she had misunderstood him, it felt as though a heavy weight had settled in her chest, making it hard to breathe.

Jin Zeyu noticed the look on Xi Yue’s face and quickly stopped Qian Dazhuang from speaking any further. In a gentle tone, he said, “Xi Yue, we were wrong today. No matter how eager we were to see you, we shouldn’t have ignored the barriers and forced our way in. In the end, it was just a misunderstanding. We’re all fine now, so why don’t you go ahead and bring your brother in?”

Jin Zeyu had heard that Xi Yue had a brother, nad Xiao Chi, though he had only seen him from a distance once or twice. So, when he heard the ntion of her brother, he assud that Wei Zhi was Xiao Chi.

Xi Yue walked to the slightly opened window in silence and looked outside.

In the empty street, the young man in red stood alone, his figure thin and forlorn. It was as if he were shrouded in an overwhelming sense of despair, with all light and warmth fading away from him.
