Chapter 97 - Sufferings

It was already near midnight when Javier's phone rang which was lying on the side table. Since both of them were in deep slumber, no one was able to pick it up.

But the second ti it rang, Javier's eyes slightly opened when he managed to grab the phone and check out the dialer.

His half-closed eyes read the na, he imdiately picked it up but didn't speak anything ahead.

Instead, he turned around slightly to see Jennifer, who was still sleeping without the care of anything in this world.

He was glad that she wasn't disturbed and didn't abruptly wake up by the caller tune.

In the end, Javier removed the blanket from his body and got up on his foot. Wearing sleepers, he stepped out of the room, closing the door behind him, without making any choice and glancing at Jennifer's side to make sure that she doesn't feel his absence.

When he arrived in the living room, he brought the phone near his ear, "Brother. This late?"

"Yes. You said that you will tell everything but it has been two days since you arrived and I have no idea what you are currently doing. I'm your brother, Javier. At least tell what you are exactly thinking and planning to do."

Charles sounded too worried and Javier scratched his head a little bit, guilty of not contacting him.

"Sorry, brother... I had no ti to contact you and tell you.." he didn't give a much longer explanation. Keeping it short and crisp, Javier heard his brother's shocking state, "Co down. I'm under your apartnt."

Hearing their word, he moves to his window and removes the curtains, to see his brother's car standing down the building.

He knew that his brother might have co straight from the company to et him but it was really tiring due to the delay in the timings.

'He must be doing it over ti for sure, otherwise, he wouldn't have shown up so late and asked to talk and converse.'

In the end, Javier walked down the building through the lift and walked near his brother's car.

As it was late already, the deep silence engulfed the entire place. The air was thick and sohow the temperature was cold because of the drop in the ter in the environnt.

His brother was standing with the support of his white Audi. Using a cigar to ease out his stress, Javier already guessed that his mood was not great either.

"How have you been, brother?" He asked politely to receive a death glare, "You are asking this? When you left alone in that villa and living here, in such a peaceful place?"

"But.. not like you wanted to. I told you to buy the sa apartnt yet you are persistent to not.." he reminded his brother when Charles simply rolled his eyes.

"Yes, I do rember but what was wrong in living with all the mbers? That would have been greater! At least you would have heard them as well."

A chuckle escaped through his lips when the narrowed words of his brother entered his ears.

But his laugh wasn't appreciated by Charles at all. "You find this funny? Co and live under one roof with those two idiocy people, you will definitely understand what headache ans."

"I love my life and I don't wish to have any kind of tension unlike you who loves to serve dad as his president puppet." As expected, cold mist passed through Charles's eyes.

It is evident that he wasn't in any mood to joke around.

When Javier noticed his dull expression, a frown settled down his forehead, "What happened, is there sothing serious you should discuss with ? you don't look good."

"Things aren't as good as we always think them to be. That Shirley is for sure planning sothing big behind our back. Moreover, are you aware of what Father has asked Smith against that hostage?" Javier nodded his head in return.

"I know. Do you think that the old man will take such a crucial decision without consulting ?"

"Hah!" A scoff left his lips when he pulled his hand through his hair once. Charles was purely frustrated with the current position. "We got a big deal abroad. It is huge. But Smiths are once again intervening in our work! I feel like killing him with my hand itself!"

Javier looked interested to know more. But from his brother's face, he can feel that getting brief detail wasn't much of a problem.

Moreover, his arrival this late straight from his company will not be there to discuss the deal and the stuff about the business world.

Rather, there must be a big reason to the sa for sure.

Javier too ca near him and stood beside him. As both the brothers looked above their head, in the sky, so thought related. "Mom must be seeing us from there." Javier suddenly said.

As the comnt brought a smile to Charles's face too. He removed the cigar from his mouth to say, "She must have regenerated into soone else. She has suffered too much, hopefully wherever is she..she is happy and living her life to the fullest "

Javier too nodded his head. Their mother suffered too much, and he can't even imagine himself putting in her shoes.

She was wrong, sowhere she was. Where she should have taken the right step to leave, their mother stubbornly stayed, hurting herself even more.

But shifting the topic a little bit, Charles looked at Javier with narrowed eyes. "So? What is between you and that.. Lucas bride."
