Chapter 399 - Will She Reveal?!
Feeling the chills down the spine, Jennifer's hand went cold.? But on the second note, neither did Jenifer fear him.
After all, grandfather Smith asked Lucas to do the sa.
However the sa can't be said for the man who lost his charm imdiately. Jack, being called his elder brother, touched Lucas's inner core vein, which ignited his further irritation.
Yet the fact that he can't show his annoyance to his grandfather was still a harsh truth.
Looking at his mother, she saw his reluctance of introducing Jennifer but then, she kept her hand over his shoulders where Amara blinked her eyes a few tis to actually give Lucas a hint.
Understanding the sa, he took a deep breath before he took a few steps and held Jennifer's hand again. Without staring into her eyes, he brought her near the cool and calm Jack. "Sh..she is Jennifer Taylor, my wife. Also, your sister-in-law...."
"She isn't your wife yet, as far as what I heard from grandfather, right?"
Jack tilted his head in the direction of the elder master Smith who gave an affirmation, "Hmm. She is yet to be your wife, Lucas."
On realization that his words backfired at him, his heart burned in the pit of fire. He wanted to put his anger out at this mont, but sohow his grandfather's presence made him control his vision.
"Y.yeah..wife to be.. .."
Jack didn't bat an eye at him while he shifted his attention on Jennifer who was still preferably keeping her head and only giving a small nod. 'Jennifer Taylor, you have a nice na though."
"T-thank you..Mr. Smith."
"You can call Jack. We will be brother-in-law and sister-in-law, so you are most welco to address by that." Jack's smile reached up to his eyes when he talked to Jennifer, annoying Lucas even more.
Thankfully, Jennifer's defensive nature was still on and that made him feel a bit better than at least she is aloof to all of them, he wasn't the special case either.
However, to ease the tension around, it was grandfather Smith who called Lucas and Jenifer to take their seats as well.
On the other hand, Jack simply went to the nearby bar where he made a drink for himself. He wasn't interested in the family affair and he made it very clear by his actions.
Yet Veronica was already sitting there without showing any negligence to show much of her interest and paying all her attention.
Within the swift mont, the environnt was eased out by Olivia who was trying to make everyone laugh even a bit.
She had no intention of making Lucas angry once again like before.
And soon, it was the ti that Jennifer was trying to avoid at any cost. "Jennifer, since you have really undergone such a rough ti, why don't you explain whatever happened to you?"
"Happened to ?"
Jennifer asked again from the Elder master who nodded his head. On hearing his request, her lips were turned into a thin line where she clutched her hands. Her heart had started to hamr against her chest where her mind revolved around her own past.
'What am I supposed to tell them? That I fell for a man, and I married him and your grandson actually killed my husband to get here?' ONLY if she had the power to blurt out the truth about which she ca across in the last few weeks.
It wasn't easy either but the truth is, she has to fight her own fights and for the sa, Jenifer can't afford to be on the bad side of Lucas for now.
Taking a deep breath, Jennifer lifted her eyes to look at the grandfather Smith when she opened her mouth to say, "I..I..it isn't easy to define but? guess this is how life works."
"I was getting ready in my room and then I had called my mother since..I..I was getting so emotional. After she left, I was simply...t-taking out my clothes... to see...wh-what I would like to bring to the ho after the wedding.."
Everyone felt their breath was on strike. Her lower eyelids and expressions clutched their hearts.
Who would say that she was a brilliant actress to present such a show to everyone?
"What happened afterward?' It was Olivia who asked in eagerness.
"I..I..then heard the sound of the vase breaking. When I saw, toward the window, I thought it was because of the windstorm that was coming but..I was wrong.. I was totally wrong...There he was..my kidnapper.."
Her breath was getting unstable and everyone noted the sa. Even Grandmaster Smith, who has years of experience could tell that this was all original and coming to the truth in his way.
The narrowed eyes of his have started to relax on witnessing her condition, "The kidnapper was Javier Johnson?"
"Y-Yes...he ca inside with a gun towards and threatened to not marry..later on, he even gave an injection to make go to sleep…" Jennifer tried to sound as sympathetic as possible.
She wasn't blind to actually go and do praises of Javier in front of everyone. Rather, it was the ti to be in their good list, to actually once snatch everything they have.
And soon, she will implent this as well.
For now, it was just the first step of her plan, and that was to gain everyone's truth over her character.
But it seems like Amara wasn't ready to leave the things so easily, "I heard that? a maid went into your room and you told her that everything is fine?"
Lifting her eyes, Jenifer's gaze t with Amara when she nodded, "Y-Yes..if I had shouted, the man would have shot there itself. There was a gun on my back, and it was...t-touching my stomach.."
Gulping the saliva, Jennifer clenched her fingers into one when she was purely hesitant to elaborate further.
It was already noted by others who don't press her either but anticipate further, "H-he took to an island. I was kept in one room...but I called Hannah and she was the one who alard ..Lucas about my whereabouts."
"But we sohow escaped.... he was the one who threatened again..I was just..too scared for my own self..." Jennifer's lips were trembling in a bad way even for now.
But her heart grew pathetic. As she proceeded, Lucas's face color was going paler and it was no doubt that he was scared that she would say sothing which would create an unnecessary problem.
The specialty about her own marriage with Javier Johnson wasn't on the bucket list of Lucas to reveal to anyone of his family mbers.
But Jenifer had no such intention of putting him in a difficult spot, at least not now, "I-I...can't speak...I'm still traumatized about everything..If you guys can...give so ti.."
