Chapter 32 - She Called Soone!
Jennifer's eyes averted back to his sleeping figure. In between, her hand clutched the mobile phone near her heart firmly.
'Please…. make Javier sleep' please please!' She prayed in her heart and waited for Javier to stabilize in his position on the couch as soon as possible.
She waited, kept on waiting for the next one minute. Until she saw that he had changed his position on the couch into a more comfortable one, did she sigh in relief!
'At least he didn't wake up at this point.. otherwise..' she won't be able to imagine what would have happened if he was awake and saw her with his mobile phone in her hand.
Imdiately, Jennifer took large steps and ca back into her room, without making any kind of noise. Her actions were so delicate as if she was afraid of being caught as the thief by him.
Closing the door behind her, Jennifer stood with her back on the cold surface of the door and sighed in relief. 'I would have been dead at if he had caught by chance..' She can't even imagine the consequences.
He once made sure to make her understand that everything he was doing was for her safety. Yet her heart wasn't able to feel convinced through his words. Moreover, how can she be at ease when he is literally keeping her isolated from everyone
She was aware of the fact that there is limited ti in her hands. She will have to return the phone back to him as quickly as possible. Without even caring about the ti or anything else in this world, Jennifer unlocked the phone.
"That is quite weird… he hasn't kept any kind of security lock in his phone? strange.." she not only found it strange but sowhat suspicious.
But those danger signs didn't stop her from dialing the number she was waiting for so long to dial. Although she didn't know if a signal would be available at this vast and distant island, she had no other option.
Typing the numbers on the keypad, she tapped the call button. Biting her lower lip in nervousness when the ring went through.
'Why is no one even picking up my call?' She was stunned. The people she was trying to reach currently, are really close to her and the most trusted ones. She knew that they might be familiar with her all of the sudden disappearance from her wedding until now.
"Why haven't they started any search? Or.. are they not able to trace ?" She had no idea about the team's situation at this point.
But at the sa ti, Jenifer didn't wish to return the phone without making any use of it. What did she even take the risk of being caught if her work wasn't completed?
In the end, Jennifer grabbed the phone once again and dialed her best friend's number which was instantly answered by her right voice. "Hello? Who is it?"
"HANNAH!" Jennifer cried out her na, but the mont she realized that she responded too loudly, she covered her mouth in guilt and moved closer to the large window, maintaining a certain distance from the main door.
"Jennifer? Is that you?! Jenn!? Answer !" Hannah is her best friend, one of her roommates since her university days. She is inford about Jennifer's family condition, and how she was going to marry Lucas on the demand of her parents.
"Hannah.. place save .. please. I have no idea why the hell did they kidnap from the wedding and.. everything that happened. Hannah, the man is seriously too dangerous.." Jennifer's eyes were red.
She wasn't crying but the risk that she took was consecutively making her nervous. How far was she from her house? With no clue available.
"Jen, first tell where are you? Who has kidnapped you? Did you know that the wedding was abruptly called off for so ti and Lucas announced that you guys will take oaths in a private ceremony?"
Private ceremony? She can't believe her ears. He was too overconfident that even after she disappeared from her own wedding, to not get his ego destroyed, he lied once again.
Her eyes glittered with coldness when the topic of Lucas has sprinkled once again in their talks. "Everything that is happening with , the reason why I am in this position is because of that idiot and stupid bastard! His enemies are the one who has kidnapped !"
"I knew! I knew that sothing was definitely off when the wedding was called off. Especially when that bastard was interested in having a lavish wedding. All of the sudden, he said that you guys will take oath in private? How rubbish!" Jennifer too agreed with her friend's words. It wasn't how Lucas acted.
"Hannah, I don't know what enmity he is with them but...I wish to go out...I wish to be with my family..'' She hasn't seen her parents, nor talked with them for so long. How does it feel to be away from them?
"But he has too many enemies in his battle. Which one are you talking about?" Hannah asked in a confusional tone.
"The most dangerous one.. Hannah, they are taboo in our states.." their mothers fill their minds with so much negativity about other states and their Mafia groups that it makes them shiver even when one's na is presented
And God knows how she is living under the sa roof, as that enemy of her own fiance. Gosh...
Hannah stayed silent for a few seconds before she replied back, "Jennifer… don't tell they are… J..J..John..Son.." her voice stamred in the middle so much which indicated her fear and the way terror must have filled her body.
Unfortunately, Jennifer replied with a 'hmm.'
"The situation is much more grave than we thought.. I have to get out of this place and run far away. I know once their work is done, they will just return back to that bastard once again and I don't have any wish to marry him and settle down." Jennifer expressed her real intent but from ti to ti she was looking back and stared at the door to make sure that no one was there.
"Your plan to escape from Lucas's grip also failed Jennifer.." How can Jennifer now rember that? She lowered her head in sha.
".. Earlier I thought that you must have escaped and that is why the wedding was called off but.. now your call.. Jennifer, I guess we should take help from Lucas.."
