Chapter 316 - Sierra's Husband
The morning arrived very soon as Javier got ready and left for this company, with the only thing in his mind: He will have to talk to his brother about Lucas very soon.
Entering his office's building, just before he passed through the first floor, did he co across soone he had least expected, Sierra Shen.
His eyes stopped at her figure who was concentrated working on her desk with utmost concentration. Appointed in the finance departnt, she showed her full caliber in the sa.
'Should I go and talk with her?' Initially, he was hesitant. At the end of the day, they aren't friends, nor have they talked a lot in the past...
However, she is now working inside his company. "Probably as a friend of hers? That won't hurt her as well.." with this single thought present in his mind, he walked ahead near her desk to knock on her desk with his knuckles.
As expected, she looked above to find a strange man standing by her chair, "Yes? How may I help you?" She asked.
"Seems like you are a new recruiter here if I'm not wrong?" Javier asked, not trying to sound too usual or frank but starting the conversation in light fone.
A smile lifted on her lips when she nodded her head. "I started working just a few days ago. But may I know who you are…"
"I guess you have forgotten so easily, Si. Am I right?" Hearing this, Sierra's eyebrows furrowed. The nickna… was hard to forget. Who was the man who is here in front of her, calling her by her old na?
"Are you…" just then Sierra stood on her toes to look at the man, who was similar to soone she knew, "J-Javier J-Joh- I an Mr. Johnson!"
A faint smile started to co on Javier's lips when he tugged his hands into his pocket to pass her a quiet and warm smile, "Seems like you still rember?"
"You are Charles's brother. You both do have a resemblance of your mother.." She rembered how young he was when she saw him years ago.
How long has it been since she ca in contact with this boy, who has turned into a? handso man?
Sierra can't even rember the tiline anymore. The only thing that captured her eyes was his eyes, similar to the man whom she loved in the past…
"I do have. How have you been Sierra? It has been so long for us to talk. After whatever that happened.." he can't even recall the past since he had no idea what went wrong in the relationship between her and his brother's.
Either way, she isn't interested to unfold the sa at this point when he has hundreds of other things to rethink.
In return, she passed him a smile to blink her eyes twice. "It has been great. I recently moved back to our state from abroad. And.. pleasantly I found out that this company belongs to you."
"Accidently you also ended up being recruited in my firm," Javier comnted and Sierra nodded.
"It was a nice coincidence.. to work once again under the Johnson group.." Sierra answered back but this ti, Javier didn't shake her head.
Folding his hands in front of his arms, did he reply, "This isn't Johnson group. This is a firm, sothing which I inherited from my mother. Not from my father's side.."
Afterward, Sierra did nod her head to hear the sa. However, her faint smile never faded. Only if she could tell if this was a fake coincidence or the real one to et her past people once again.
On seeing her standing in the daze once again, Javier coughed hard to ask further, "So, why back in the state?" His question made Sierra raise her brows.
"Variety of reasons. Can't describe anyone.." at the sa ti, a lady from behind him, ca to stand by Sierra's desk.
"Mrs. Shen, these are the files that you have asked for.." while saying this, the employee's eyes traveled to see her boss beside whom she bowed and nodded her head to give her greeting.
Accordingly, Javier too nodded but his attention was fixed on Sierra who didn't hesitate to work under his company. Neither did she look reluctant to do the sa.
'Maybe… she is really in need of this. Or probably, the only person with whom she might feel discomfort is… brother..' with this re thought crossing his mind, did he know that things she changed.
On noting that Siera was actually busy with her work, he said, "I shall take your leave. You shall continue your work.."
However, just before he could have departed from the place, did his eyes caught sothing interesting. A picture on her desk.
Subconsciously, why did he feel so similarity in the picture to see?
Following his gaze as well, Sierra's eyes moved down to see his eyes stagnant at her family picture, which showed herself and her dear two children, along with her husband…
At the sa mont, so unknown uneasiness started to crawl under her skin but she had no idea what this can be defined as.
"T..this.."
"Your husband and children, am I right?" He asked to which she instantly nodded her head, still with her grip already tightened around her clothes.
For the next few seconds, he stared as if he had frozen to this place. But then, did he co out of his daze to only nod his head. "Nice family picture. I hope I will get the opportunity to et your husband as well."
Lowering her eyelids, "S-so-sure.."
With this, Javier imdiately walked off towards his own cabin to shut the door from inside. Coming near the window, he took his phone out to dial a specific number through which the call went.
Yet the other person answered very late, "hm...what?"
Hearing the sleepy voice didn't impact Javier's turn and complicated expression even a bit, "I need information. Find out about Sierra Shen's husband.."
