Chapter 299 - My Secretary!
"You an to say….the new boss around?"Olivia asked, just to confirm whether she heard it right or not.
Until, the man nodded his head, making her legs go jelly. Why will the new man request per presence? Doesn't he know that she is nothing but Lucas's secretary?!
But at the sa ti, Lucas wasn't in any good condition as well. His mood turned more gloomy than the clouds of anger already surrounding him.
Yes, he was already ready to put his anger on soone now...
"Don't go!" was this order, not even a comnt.
The way he stared at both of them, was enough to make them feel the shivers down their spine and Olivia gulp the saliva presents in her mouth.
"Lucas...I think I should at least go once and see. What the man has to say to . You d-" her words automatically went down when Lucas imdiately declined her offer. "What does he have to say? hah, don't you see this clearly?"
"I can! I just don't want you to misunderstand anything. Maybe he is calling so that I can give you a special ssage.."? Olivia had the wish to just see the man, whether he had sothing to say or anything useful.
The employee, who stood beside Olivia, looked too scared to interfere. Seeing spat between the two, already pulled all of his guts out. "Y..you can co when you are ready, ma'am. I will wait near.." was all he said before leaving them alone.
Letting a tired sight out of her lips, Olivia wasn't interested to hear or bear the attitude of Lucas regarding the issue, "You are overreaching Lucas! Maybe he has nothing to say…"
"Alright." Within a few monts, the swift change in him made her answer what happened? Did he really just agree with what she said?
"You an...I can go?" Olivia asked to which he nodded his head yet the gloomy and display clear written over his face, "You can go but..you know what are your limits as well. Go ahead then. I would also like to hear what that bastard has planned for you now.."
With these words, she nodded her head and took her file in her hands. Stepping out of the door, she walked through the lobby before she reached the cabin, which was earlier than Lucas.
Taking a deep breath outside, she put her hand on the knob of the door when she knocked on the door, "The door is opened.." the voice ca from the inside.
With the least bit of courage, she moved the door of the cabin and ca into view of the man who was currently busy with his work. His eyes were entirely focused on his laptop, not even sparing a glance to her. "Sir, you requested my presence.."
"You can sit and wait. Let complete my work.." the voice was cold but she had no other option left in her hand.
Nodding her head, she took the seat on the couch and kept her files on her lap. With the slight uneasiness that lingered on her face, she herself was aware of how much courage it took out of her heart. 'Yet this man called and said that he is busy..?' she would be ridiculous!
Was he really busy? Then why did he even call her right now? She can't figure it out but all that she did was to wait...for the next ten minutes.
Afterward, he finally put his head against his chair and put his hand on the armchair in a relaxing mood. At last, he turned around to look at her face with cold eyes that were a bit similar to Lucas's.
"So you are Olivia…"
"That is , sir.." she gave a respectful answer but he wasn't less to tease her, "Your last na, Miss?"
At this point, Olivia's lips went dry. 'My last na?' She has never recalled or told anyone. Probably because she never used the last na of hers due to her secret identity, "You can just call Olivia.."
"So Ms. Olivia, you must be aware that things have changed in the company now." He wasn't beating around the bush and she simply nodded her head.
Getting a positive response from her side, he added, "You were Lucas's secretary, who handled the business but now, the departnts have been distributed. The things you used to do are now under my heads and controls."
"That doesn't an sir. I used to handle everything that Lucas used to ask to do. If he asks to go with so other branch, I will handle that efficiently as well." she wasn't planning to be rude but keeping her point was important.
Was he going to reign her because the heads which she handed are now under him? Not under Lucas?
'Because if he does..then it ans breaking Lucas's other moral support. God, I can't reign. How will I keep eye on the Smiths then..' that would be his last resort left with her.
But then, Jas was born with a different mindset.
"I don't doubt your skills at all, Miss. But I'm worried about your loyalty."? The man kept his hands on the desk as if was very much interested to know her half. "My loyalty stays with the company. I have served Lucas for the past few years and never leaked anything, just to make you apprise about that if you have the urge to know.."
Hearing her straightforward reply seed to raise Jas's eyebrows. He signaled her to co in front of him and sit ahead. "Please take a seat here."
Following the actions, she did as he asked her to do.
She took the seat, in front of him, making her notice his facial expressions. 'How much the sa as Lucas. If I didn't know about him, I would have probably taken him as his real brother..' Unfortunately, this was the faraway truth..
"Ms. Olivia, you have been a sincere employee of the company and I don't wanna lose you at all.." hearing this, Olivia can't help but feel the confusion surfacing, "You can be more elaborate about this.."
At this point, Jas's lips curved upwards when he removed his hands from the desk and stared at her with an amusing smile of his.
"From now onwards, you are no longer Lucas's secretary. You will report directly to , not Lucas!"
