Chapter 225 - In Favor Of Smiths!
"Jennifer!"
Alia called her na when she opened the door and hugged her daughters without caring about anything in this world.
Similarly, Jennifer returned her bear hug, as if it had been almost an eternity, "H..H..How.. have you been.."
"Oh, my child.. I'm so relieved that you're okay..." the words added to her sour wounds when her grip tight.
Resting her face in her neck, she controlled her tears which were currently on the bay.
They were in the corridor yet it didn't make any sense to them. Just the distance for a few days parting was enough to test her patience and love, at least for Jennifer it was.
Seeing the two of them in such a long hug, Austin and Hannah can't help but get a little bit alard too.
Austin was feeling too shy to break this reunion but Hannah knew the importance and risk which they were bearing.
"Umm… can we guys go? This is a corridor.." her words made all of them alard when Alia pulled off first, "Co in first.."
The two of them stepped inside when Alia closed the door around them. As she faced the door, her eyes which were carrying sweetness, turned slightly cold, 'At when we contacted you and you ca here.. Let's see how you don't go back with us.'
The dangerous glint appeared in her eyes but she hid it when it imdiately diapered when she turned around to look at the children.
"Co co, sit inside." Alia signaled Hannah and Austin, who took the seat on the nearby couch.
At the sa ti, Jennifer went ahead and saw her father and gave him a tight hug, "Father.."
"We are glad that you are fine, Jen. You don't have any idea how difficult it was for us to actually sleep, knowing that you are in danger.." David said in a kind of emotional tone to which Jennifer just rolled with a 'Hmm..'
Yet inside her mind, it was in total turmoil to et her parents after so long, despite the challenges. It was as if a dream ca true for her when she saw them after so long and hugged them.
"I missed you both a lot.." hearing this, Alia stepped forward and patted her head, "We missed you more, my dear. Your sudden disappearance from the wedding already gave us a heart attack to the core…"
"I.. I'm sorry..I tried to scream but no one was going to hear. Moreover, the man threatened to.. kill that instant if I uttered a single word.."
Jennifer knew that she lied to the maid on the day of her wedding. It was wrong but without any option, she had to also run.
Also, if she tampered with Javier's plan that day, it might have resulted in death on that day itself.
Alia didn't prey on this conversation anymore. Rather she made her beside her, on the bed, "We have limited ti, Jennifer. We can't stay here much longer. You know about this.."
Nodding her head in agreent, Jennifer can't help but agree to the sa, "This is a hell of a danger for you.."
"You are right, sohow we moved to break here but if Johnson gets any clues, we are done. So, My child, I will not talk about useless things. It would be best if we co directly to the main point."
'Main point?' Jennifer was clueless, so were Hannah and Austin. Never In life did he see Mrs. Taylor acting so distant.
For so reason they can't help but miss the old seriousness in her eyes, showing how she was adamant to talk about this."Please say, mother."
"Your marriage with Lucas was supposed to happen but was also called off. Although it wasn't clearly called off, we delayed it for a further date. In the eyes of others, you are already his wife but.. we all know the truth."
"I heard on the news that they think we married in a private ceremony.." Jennifer said what she knew a bit about the situation. Or sowhat, at a certain length, she expected sothing already in her mind.
Nodding her head, Alia took Jennifer's one hand which she was fortunate enough that her hand wasn't the one which she selected, wasn't the injured one.
"You aren't a child anymore. Lucas has limited patience. His family urged for your presence as soon as possible."
This made her frown as it curved on her forehead, "They have limited patience? But everything is happening, this ss… js due to that bastard! His enemies kidnapped to get their things done by Lucas! Johnson is Smith's enemy, not ours!"
"But they made you their target."
"Yet their main target is already Lucas. I'm simply an interdiate, they are using to get their hands on Lucas and his powers."
Jennifer had no such wish to be thrown in the middle of those! Was it her fault that both the families aren't on good terms with each other?? She doesn't think so.
Moreover, if Lucas is having limited patience, why is he not marrying soone else? Why stick to her?
'Not like we have any love or sothing..' she was still in dilemma but let her mother take the turn up this ti.
Alia pressed her brows as a tensed sigh escaped her lips to say, "You are correct but they are Smiths. Do you think they even listen to us?"
A giant smile appeared on Jennifer's face. Her mother was fully acting in the favor of the smiths, as she always does, so what was she supposed to even say in between?
Adding to the sa, her father comnted from the back, "Jennifer, but there isn't a good way to get a good marriage proposal from a? prestigious family like Smiths. We shouldn't let go of this opportunity. Think if you marry that man, you will be the new daughter-in-law of their household!"
Turning her face around she stared at her father who seed more excited than her when it cos to Smith and the marriage, "But it doesn't matter to you that after being his bride and later being his woman, will only bring danger to ?"
