Chapter 165 - Not Her Parents!
"Why?" Lucas asked, almost sounding too distant in his tone.
"Because… we know that her identity isn't that simple, to let her live on any unknown island. For years, she has been living with us.. in front of our eyes. Although, we let her go for higher studies that weren't a.... a threat to our life.."
Alia's face was too serious for any joke.
She kept her request crystal clear in front of them, which made Lucas imdiately kept his phone aside and listened to the conversation.
In the starting he considered them to be present here for Jennifer's location until they asked him for permission to travel to another state which gained his interest.
But that last, their words brought a frown curved on his forehead. "Mrs. Taylor, do you even know what you're saying?' What kind of identity are you talking about?"
"No ti to joke around anymore. We both know that Jennifer isn't a simple lady, and both the families are aware of her back ho.. and her unique status."
Lucas's eyes turned more chiller from the last ti.
It kept on changing his expression, from coldness to frosty layer. Not only that, Olivia can feel her heart-piercing in her chest as if it will co out just at the mont.
"..Y..y..you aren't.. kidding right!?" Olivia sohow was blank to ask with shock written all over her face, "We have no ti to joke here. Rather, talking point to point is to our today's aim."
The comnt almost made Olivia lose her mind. Never in her dream did she imagine that except for them, soone else might have a clue about the sa.
Averted her gaze towards Lucas, he was in no better position.
As if they have an entire secret which they were desperately hiding, with the thought that no one must be aware of that too.
Soone does know about Jennifer's real origin!
But Lucas didn't let his tongue to be slipped so easily, "Really? I would like to hear more from the Taylor family then…" he said in simple words, not showing any distant feeling rather looking amused.
Clearing his throat, David confird, "The truth is.. we aren't her real parents but soone else is. Her birthplace isn't this state either, or we can say she lives with us.. with the tag of our daughter but in reality, she isn't our daughter."
Taking a deep breath, David lifted his eyes to stare at Lucas, who was still hearing them with his full attention. And that sa gave him an idea that Lucas is surely not as clean as they all thought.
'He knows.. otherwise, he won't have cared about taking an interest in my talks..' knowing this, David continued ahead.
"Her family.. back ho.. is complicated, so is her past when she was born. It is not easy to disclose everything. But I believe you know that too, that Jennifer Taylor...isn't' a re businessman's daughter but.."
Without finishing his words, David passed Lucas an obvious look to make him think about he has disclosed enough to make him know his intent.
They weren't fools either.
Before stepping into the mansion, they have reached and given everything a second thought.
In the end, with the help of so connections of points and proofs of events, and analyzing the situation, made them arrive at one conclusion and that is, Lucas is after the sa things…
And wants sothing from Jennifer too.
She can't offer him money.. since she doesn't have any.. as taylor's family is already on the eve of poverty yet… her identity can make him gain a lot more.
Lucas's eyes turned colder than before.
Ruffling his hand through his hair, a faint smirk landed on their remark, about whatever they just spoke, "Looks like… you do have many ideas.."
"So do you. See, we aren't here to discuss what you want or not... but we simply wish to her get married to you so that, we are freed from this situation." David passed a red comnt, to show his intent.
Alia nudged her husband a little bit, adding to show reality, "Moreover if you have any use to lock her or whatsoever we aren't concerned… until and unless she is your wife legally. Just.. our responsibility will be wiped off."
Since they knew that Lucas has so plans too, they didn't hesitate to say it aloud in front of them.
Their hands were tied with a past thread which is still lingering on their head as if it will reveal anyhow.
The fear of not getting her married but… if she cos back in contact with her real family will create a ss for them.
In a similar manner, if she is Lucas's bride, she will ultimately be a Smith, which will in return benefit them too and all the responsibilities will be lifted off their shoulders.
Especially, the anxiousness of getting caught in the past or being revealed, about how they ended up being her parents and raising her as their child!
At last, after heating their side, Lucas didn't speak anything for few minutes, making the rest of the people present in the drawing-room anxious.
On the other side, Olivia's hand clutched the sofa beneath her.
Her tight hands digging in the fabric. 'Looks like.. My plan is on the edge of getting tainted. Did these two old bastards know about Jennifer's identity too?'
What was she supposed to do if they reveal it to soone and Lucas's plan flop in turn?
The only situation that revolved in her mind was to follow the man's words who has assigned her for the reason besides Lucas.
There was utter silence in the hall with no single sound being heard. Just a deep breathing sound of Lucas's breathe made the Taylor couples fix their intense fierce eyes in his direction.
"You.. guys know.. Do we get anyone else who is aware of the sa?"
