Chapter 147 - Her Fiance Is Lucas Smith
The lady asked Shirley in the obvious tone, thinking that Shirley will not start a heated argunt on such a re reason.
Doesn't Shirley own dozens of dresses?
Shirley, who was fuming in the pure anger, found it too useless.
Her dangerous eyes, shot Jennifer a death glare, as it was easily predictable by her that Jennifer played a ga with her!
'This girl... I have surely taken her lightly..' in her mind, she found her even more scheming than Emily.
No, Emily would be nothing when Jennifer stands out since she used all the dirty tricks to gain the lady in her support.
How? Just by sweet-talking, this made Shirley annoy to the next level. "I..I'm so sorry Mrs... Shirley.. this wasn't my intention."
Bringing a fake smile on her face, Shirley used all her courage to act normal despite the continuously huge in her heart to put the lady down on the ground.
"That's alright. I will... go and change. you all please enjoy till that ti."
"Co fast, Shirley. Don't take much ti to get ready again." Another lady comnted and Shirley passed her an assured smile.
At the sa ti, Mrs. Chloe took the steps and brought Jennfier alongside her.
Patting her back, she spoke in her sweetest voice, "No worries, no one will scold you for this. You are new to our state and hesitant so this is normal.."
"I..I.. know it's.. just that.. I.." Jennifer spoke so timidly which squeezed other's hearts to see her swollen expressions. The look didn't suit her for sure.
"Co here.. no need to cry. You are way stronger." Mrs. Chloe gave Jennifer a strong hug, making Jennifer cry a little at first but then stop herself.
In the middle of the commotion, her eyes turned slightly cold with a smirk curving on her face.
No one was able to guess the drama which she did because of her superb acting skills.
'So foolish.. do you think a twenty-five years old girl will slip a drink by chance?' At this, though she is upset that no one was able to uncover and even didn't sympathize with Johnsons.
But what gave her ultimate satisfaction was Mrs. Johnson's reaction!
Shirley's fuming and distant attitude to maintain a prestigious image was almost making her laugh in the heart
Since the lady wasn't able to do anything but suppress her anger, this brought a fading glance on her face which she perfectly covered from the rest of the people present there.
After a few minutes, she cald down and once again engaged in chatting with others.
At this ti, Shirley also returned but not alone.
She brought Emily alongside her with her affectionate nature. "Okay. I want you to et my family mbers. This is Emily, Javier's fiance, and his soon-to-be wife."
Gasps were heard but what Jennifer noticed was the urge to make friendship with Emily. From the corner of her eyes, Jennifer did take notice of how the ladies were quite saddened by the information.
"Javier had a fiance too?" The lady asked in purpose to which Shirley replied with a positive look. "He has had one for a long ti. The engagent will be taking place soon. Emily, this is my group. My friends."
Bringing the sweetest smile she could have ever used, Emily's eyes curved in the shape of a crystal moon to say, "Hello everyone. It is pleasant to see you all here."
Everyone nodded. Shirley made Emily sit, exactly beside her but at this ti, Jennifer can't digest the statent of this fake lady who had a fight with her in the morning.
"Mrs. Shirley, Javier told that… It is an arranged marriage but he hasn't agreed to the sa till yet. You said that she is you would be a mber and his fiance.. but Javier hasn't agreed, is that true?" She hit the ignited iron at the right ti.
This gained suspicion from many, all ladies looking in Shirley's direction, hoping to know more.
As predicted, Shirley was already prepared for sothing similar by Jennifer already when she spoke, "Javier is a nice guy and always listens to his family. Also, Emily and Javier are childhood friends and the love blood in the teenage days itself."
"Oh…" Jennifer didn't decline or accepted but dropped another bomb, "Maybe I heard this wrong but Javier used to travel a lot in his teenage days and barely showed up in the states. Probably these are the simple rumors then…"
The way of her talking was to plant a bud in everyone's heart about the lie that Shirley continuously spouted with her mouth.
It was unacceptable for her to recognize Emily as the bride of Javier.
More likely because her heart wasn't convinced by the sa, until and unless Javier says that he is marrying this bimbo.
"Jennifer, you do know many things about Javier. Looks like you're getting along with him in a short period of ti, isn't it?" This ti, Emily opened her mouth to attack via her words.
Quite similar to how Jennifer used her comnts.
Narrowing her eyes, Jennifer replied in a calm tone, "He is the one who kidnapped from my own wedding. He is the one who took care of when I fell ill a few weeks back, so we grew close to each other."
The words which Emily used were manipulative but Jennifer's statent cleared about the relationship that Jennifer and Javier shared.
At the sa ti, a curiosity rose in Mrs. Chloe's heart when she heard Jennifer's comnt. "Jennifer, are you married?"
"No… engaged." was a short answer from Jennifer's side since she doesn't have any intention of disclosing her marital status.
But the sa can't be said for Shirley who noticed her displeasure on this topic. "You know who is Ms. Taylor's fiance back in her state?"
The question from Shirley's mouth made Jennifer's eyes wide but before others would guess her reaction.
Inwards she was cursing Shirley millions of tis already. But it was too late to interrupt the bitchy girl before she said it aloud.
"Oh, her fiance is Lucas Smith."
