Chapter 104 - Mistress Turned Stepmom!!
As they both turned around, ca into view Mr. Shawn and Shirley standing beside him, with a constant smirk plastered on her face.
"Yes! Safety is more important and I believe you will not object to that." Javier replied with the coldest attitude, which was kind of new to Jennifer.
"Haha! I was the one who asked you yet you think I will object? I was furious once that you won't let take this girl to the bar but at least you agreed on so matters keeping your stubbornness aside."
Shawn left no stone to insult his son on the occasions he could.
Moreover, he will eventually make Javier remind of all the habits and decisions, which are commonly wrong on his part, according to the Johnsons head.
"That doesn't matter for now… By the way, Jennifer, this is my father, Shawn Johnson and the lady beside him is… Shirley Johnson, my father's mistress."
The last words made all the n shocked. Not only that, Shirley's smirk faded and was replaced with fury evident on her face.
"I'm your father's wedded legal wife!" She yelled to describe her status but Javier totally treated her as if she was nothing but thin air.
Without replying to the lady and not giving importance to her glare, Javier's eyes were stuck to Jennifer itself. "Oh.. once she as Mistress, now it is upgraded to wife. But in my eyes, howreckers are always howreckers so…"
He shrugged his shoulders, indicating that he doesn't care and will keep on speaking whatever he thinks.
Despite the situation around her, Jennifer controlled her chuckle. It wasn't only difficult but getting out of control too.
Moreover, when her eyes averted to see the fury on Lady's face, Jennifer had to dig her nails into her palms to stop herself from uttering sothing wrong. 'If I laugh at this mont, I'm pretty sure that they will see with more hatred!' With this thought in her mind, Jennifer dared not to revert them disrespectfully.
When Javier finished giving the introduction of his parents, she passed them a light smile. In return to her, Mr. Shawn just nods his head in acknowledgnt.
anwhile, the lady was observing and staring at her from top to bottom, as if she was any kind of model to see.
'I don't look that good… is the lady feeling insecure?' Jennifer can feel that Shirley was too young as compared to Mr. Shawn.
But at the sa ti, seeing the wrath in the Johnsons, she wasn't surprised at all with the thought that Shirley got herself attached with a sweaty man like him and ward his bed, despite being married before.
"We are planning to stay there until… Lucas understands our demands." Javier spoke to clear the confusion. But Mr. Shawn' looked displeased, "Lucas is surely trying every asure to get Ms. Taylor into his hands. Looks like he is restless because of your absence.. Ms. Jennfier."
Using a fake smile as her cover, her grip around her hands tightened. Keeping a large and heavy stone on her heart, she replied back, "Oh... Well, he is Lucas Smith. What else can you expect him to do when his family mbers get kidnapped?"
"Very well said! That's why we kidnapped you rather than anyone else in his family. Looks like you are cooperating as well...better for us to coordinate this.."
Shawn has a heavy voice compared to other males. More authoritative and bold to sound. With age, she can expect that it will turn into an ordering one.
"Sure. I love my life more than anything and will do anything to save it." She clearly answered, showing that her topmost priority is her life.
No one can deny this fact as well.
But deeper than that, Shawn and Javier understood that, sowhat, she doesn't care about Lucas at all, so she is willing to help them but in return, she doesn't want any harm in her direction at all.
With this, Jennifer was satisfied that at least they know her side as well that she doesn't have anything to do with Lucas, except the na of his bride...
For a few minutes no one spoke anything else but then, Shirley coughed. 'How can this annoying lady hold her mouth shut? When will she get a new prey like ?' Jennifer was very well accustod to a mistress like her, who acts high because of their status and shows others low, despite their self-respect.
"Ms. Jennifer.." Shirley spoke in a sweet voice, to gain everyone's attention towards her talk, "You are Lucas's bride but I'm pretty much surprised that you are holding our Javier's hand?" Despite the harshness on her face, she can sense the deep hollowness in her heart.
At this mont, Jennifer realized this thing. But instead of getting their hands away, Javier and her grip tightened more than before. "Mrs. Johnson...sorry top in pinpoint you but your Javier? Well, I Javier just told that… you are simply the lady but now this stepmom, am I right Javier?" At the last mont of hers, she moved her gaze to Javier, who nodded his head.
This gave her another level of confidence. The expression on Shirley's face gave her satisfaction. 'You thought that you can bully too easily? Do you think I'm soone weak? Hah! You better watch out for your steps from now on..'
As the word hit the main spot, the sweet gesture of Shirley was very hard to maintain. Controlling her inner gaze, she tried to make herself look prestigious, but failing Jennifer's eyes. It was too evident to see she isn't the one whom she pretends to be.
Getting no reply from Shirley, Jennifer spoke once again, in the most sarcastic way she can ever find, "I heard that you were once the secretary? Looks like you were very good in your work... since you got what you wanted in your career and….life, right?"
