Sun Wukong returned to the Guanyin Monastery feeling very dejected. Xuanzang could tell at a glance that he had failed, but didn't bla him. However, Sun Wukong, who had a strong sense of pride, felt even worse.
Why not just scold a couple of tis!
Sun Wukong thought of ways as he ate, wondering how to retrieve the kasaya. His gaze wandered and when he saw the burned Guanyin statue, an idea struck him.
This is the Guanyin Temple, seeking the Bodhisattva Guanyin can't be wrong. With that thought, Sun Wukong imdiately put down the bowl and ran out.
"Wukong, where are you rushing off to? Finish eating first."
"Master, wait here. I will bring back your kasaya right now."
Sun Wukong soared on his Sorsault Cloud to the South Sea, where the Guardian Heavenly God was already waiting for him. The guardian took Sun Wukong to the Purple Bamboo Forest to see the Bodhisattva Guanyin, and then departed.
Sun Wukong imdiately started making a scene.
"Bodhisattva, that elder in your monastery coveted my master's kasaya, set a fire at night, and consorted with demons, having that Black Bear Spirit steal my master's kasaya. You must give an explanation!"
Guanyin had been expecting Sun Wukong and upon hearing him turn things upside down, her face darkened. This monkey first shifted all bla from himself.
"You cheeky monkey, you caused trouble by competing and then helped fan the flas to burn my monastery. Now, you dare bla it on ?"
Seeing Guanyin say this, the monkey promptly behaved. He realized that the world outside was vast and he wasn't as invincible as he thought.
"Bodhisattva, then what should we do? We can't just leave the kasaya behind, can we?"
Guanyin shook her head and said, "I will accompany you there."
She got up and followed Sun Wukong back to Black Wind Mountain. Sun Wukong went forward to challenge directly, while Guanyin appeared to hide yet secretly signaled the Old Bear inside.
The once worried Old Bear was instantly overjoyed. Carrying the Black Cherry Spear, he charged out. This ti he held nothing back; he wanted to perform well in front of his future leader, Guanyin.
Sun Wukong brandished the Jingu Bang and as they clashed, he was astonished — how did this ebony-faced guy get stronger again? Could it be true that he really hadn't eaten his fill before?
A fierce battle ensued for hundreds of rounds between the monkey and the bear, and finally, Guanyin appeared.
Old Bear discreetly wiped the sweat off his forehead, thinking, "It's about ti you showed up."
"You wicked beast, how long will you remain arrogant?"
Old Bear bowed his head in prayer — one, to secure his lodging and als, he could bear it for the mont. Secondly, he thought, "This is just a drill; what does the Black Bear Spirit's bowing have to do with my Iron-Eating Beast?"
Sun Wukong scrutinized Guanyin, who rely introduced herself and humorously amused the blind bear. How co her reputation works so well?
Feeling a bit irked, he was about to swing his Jingu Bang at the Black Bear Spirit, but Guanyin promptly stopped him. She had gained a clearer understanding of Sun Wukong's mischief.
"Hold on. This Black Bear Spirit has never hard anyone. My Putuo Mountain happens to need a Mountain Guardian, so just let him co back with ."
Seeing this, Sun Wukong refrained, deciding to give Guanyin the respect she deserved.
"You dumb beast, hurry and hand over my master's kasaya!"
The Old Bear returned to his cave and brought out the kasaya to return to Sun Wukong. Satisfied with the retrieval, Sun Wukong left, while Guanyin took the Old Bear and, looking at the Guanyin Monastery from the clouds, sighed a little.
Indeed, Guanyin was compassionate in saving all beings, but she wasn't soone who couldn't tolerate a little flaw. Jinchi molded a golden body for her and chanted scriptures day and night, so how could she remain indifferent?
Do you really think an ordinary mortal can casually live to two hundred seventy years?
She did not bestow a fruit position on the Jinchi Elder not because she couldn't, but because she didn't want to encourage such behavior. Given if Jinchi perford well during Xuanzang's visit, she could answer to those above, naturally then opening a more accessible door for Jinchi.
But due to a mont's error, a lifeti's effort ultimately went to waste.
The Old Bear glanced at Guanyin, sensing she seed unhappy, then comforted her, "Sister-in-law, is it that monkey that made you angry? Let , Old Bear, teach him a lesson for you now!"
Initially a bit wistful, Guanyin was entirely disoriented by Old Bear's "sister-in-law" comnt. She looked at the coal-black Old Bear and couldn't help but smile.
"You talkative fellow, mind your words, and clean up quickly!"
Old Bear chuckled, grabbed a couple of clouds, rolled inside, revealing his black-and-white fur, and on his face, made a look as if he understood.
"I got it. You're keeping it under wraps? Don't worry, my mouth is the tightest!"
Guanyin was sowhat speechless, "What matter? What are we hiding?"
Old Bear, with an enlightened expression, said, "I knew it. I know about it, how can it still be hidden? Isn't it known throughout Lingshan?"
Guanyin frowned, thinking how Nezha was such a serious-being with such an unserious friend?
She waved her jade hand, placing a golden ring on Old Bear's head, thinking, "With that mouth! I can't leave it as is!"
After doing so, she explained, "My junior and I are pure and innocent; don't speak carelessly."
Old Bear touched the golden ring on his head, indifferent, shaking his head as he followed Guanyin.
"Don't worry, sister-in-law, since it's being kept a secret, Old Bear won't blab!"
Guanyin glared at her older cohort.
"One more word out of place, and I won't keep you."
Old Bear imdiately covered his mouth, wondering how his connection-making upset the leader.
On the other side, the cassock retrieved, Tang Seng and his disciples resud their journey.
...
Ziwei Star Palace
Nezha was preparing to select gifts, or rather, Daji and the others were choosing them since Old Li relayed the news that Lady Yin had given birth.
Let's just say Old Li worked hard too.
The matter was sowhat peculiar, yet not overly so. Old Li served as a deity, not as an idol trainee, and couldn't abandon his family to pass off as a fan just because of that.
