Yang Jian carried Lei Zhenzi’s severed head, the two halves of Uncle Jiang’s mortal body, and his soul, rushing at lightning speed to Yuxu Palace.
Although he had grown estranged from the Chan Sect, and Yu Ding was already listed on the register, Yang Jian had never denied his identity as a third-generation disciple of Yuxu.
Bai He, the attendant child, had long been waiting at the palace.
When the Asuras descended, Yuanshi Tianzun had already sensed the situation over there. He was sowhat puzzled—wasn’t this supposed to be about the Rise of Zhou and Fall of Shang? How did it end up like this?
Yet, he was utterly indifferent to how many mbers of the Human Clan died.
As for the idea that the Chan Sect was founded on the Human Clan, leading him to attain sainthood—what a ridiculous joke.
The first to achieve sainthood after Hong Jun was Nuwa, and the reason was because she created human beings.
Humans are most attuned to the Human Dao, with the highest potential and compatibility for the developnt of the Primordial. They beca the representatives of the Human Dao, thus earning vast rit to achieve sainthood.
Taiqing Laozi, inspired by this, established the Human Sect. The "human" in the Human Sect refers to the human within Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, not specifically the Human Clan. At that ti, the Human Clan hadn’t yet risen as the dominant force of Heaven and Earth. What Laozi was doing was essentially continuing Hong Jun’s teachings.
Spreading enlightennt to all beings earned rit for sainthood.
The Three Pure Ones essentially followed the route of Saint Taiqing, though their doctrines varied.
Their work in enlightennt mirrored Hong Jun’s three sessions of preaching, teaching all beings, thereby inheriting Hong Jun’s vision. As a result, Laozi beca the senior disciple among the Six Saints of the Mystic Sect and the elder brother of the Three Pure Ones.
The one most closely tied to the Human Clan remained Lady Nuwa. As for the other three, their connection was established later when the Human Clan beca Heaven and Earth’s sovereign species and the representatives of the Human Dao.
As for the last two saints of the Western Sect, their paths to sainthood differed from those of the Three Pure Ones and Nuwa.
It can only be said that everyone who achieved sainthood didn’t do so rely by luck; the depth of effort they put in secretly remains unknown.
Even Hao Tian, who aspired to beco the Heavenly Emperor, had to endure countless cycles of tribulation, just to prove to others that his ascent wasn’t simply due to Daoist Ancestor’s appointnt but because he could withstand trials greater than anyone else’s!
The Human Clan holds no especial significance to Saints, but Yuanshi Tianzun’s face? Now that is important.
How many tis have I stated the Rise of Zhou and Fall of Shang? Yet still, soone dares oppose ?
The Will of the Saints is the Will of Heaven.
Of the recently returned Twelve Golden Immortals, ten were dispatched, with one still in seclusion, who seed to be the first to escape tribulation—snug hidden in Yuxu Palace; who’d dare kill him here?
Huang Long, bolstered by Ci Hang’s elixir and his own robust recovery ability, had already healed his injuries.
Yun Zhongzi, due to his imnse fortune and rits, had mostly dispersed his tribulation energy. Having gained rit alongside Nezha and being favored by Yuanshi Tianzun, he wasn’t summoned for this mission.
The Twelve Golden Immortals hastened to Xiqi, only to find its city walls obliterated, with the Asuras marauding chaotically.
This ti, Guang Chengzi received orders from his master, treating them with utmost seriousness—unlike his usual idleness, he regarded his master’s commands as more important than his own life.
Upon arrival, he imdiately whipped out the Sky-Flipping Seal: "You Asura warriors think your bodies are tough? Let’s see whether you’re stronger than my Sky-Flipping Seal!"
Thud, thud, thud—there was no other way—it was one strike per blow, like clockwork.
Ci Hang, hovering mid-air with a distraught expression, waved her Willow Branch incessantly, sprinkling Divine Water to heal the Human Clan still clinging to life.
The maid soldiers, those missing arms or legs—and when two n couldn’t form even one complete pair of hands—began to regenerate and grow whole once more under the nourishnt of Divine Water.
The other eight Golden Immortals resorted to their abilities, thodically slaughtering Asura elites.
Demon King Buxun observed the scene without a trace of sadness for his dying kin. Instead, he stood high above and laughed uproariously.
This laughter startled the Twelve Golden Immortals greatly, and the ten promptly gathered together in strict formation, vigilantly eyeing Buxun, wary of any tactics he might employ.
But then Buxun finished laughing and declared, "I’ve waited long for this day. Today, I shall show you Chan Sect Immortals the true might of our Asura Clan!"
With that, he stepped onto the Karma Fire Red Lotus, brought Shiva and several Asuras of Taiyi Golden Immortal-level cultivation, and charged forward.
The Twelve Golden Immortals: "..."
Are you insane? Instead of attacking straight away, you stand there laughing—scaring us half to death—we thought there was so kind of trap!
Guang Chengzi took the initiative to confront the strongest adversary, Buxun, while Ci Hang faced off against Shiva, a Daluo Golden Immortal wielding a Trident.
The other Chan Sect Immortals matched up against their opponents accordingly.
Guang Chengzi with the Sky-Flipping Seal in hand squared off against Buxun, who was protected by the Twelve-Grade Karma Fire Red Lotus. Guang Chengzi’s spells were varied and unpredictable, while Buxun’s physical might was unparalleled, coupled with consummate battle experience; their fight ended up fiercely evenly matched.
Though Guang Chengzi held the upper hand, he couldn’t gain decisive victory over Buxun.
Ci Hang, on the other hand, found the tables turned. Though her cultivation was higher, she lacked combat proficiency. Shiva’s fighting style was bizarre—swinging his Trident while performing a bizarrely grotesque dance.
The domain established by Ci Hang’s Divine Water from the Jade Purifying Bottle was entirely neutralized by the destructive aura emitted during Shiva’s dance. Her spells were ineffective against him, and she had to remain on guard against Shiva’s polluted Trident.
Unable to take him down, she resorted to pouring all the Divine Water from her Jade Purifying Bottle, invoking a projection of the River of Ti, trapping Shiva within, though not achieving fatal results.
Chi Jingzi fared well with his Taiyi Golden Immortal Peak-level cultivation and abundance of Magical Treasures; even against several Asuras of similar cultivation, he held his ground easily.
Among the Immortals, Huang Long turned out to be in the best shape. Tough as nails, he endured being pumled by several Asuras but possessed prior experience battling their kind. Though appearing battered, he hung on without facing mortal peril.
The other Immortals were far worse off. So had lent their treasures to their disciples; others were outright impoverished. Given their Golden Immortal or Taiyi Golden Immortal realm cultivation, they were unskilled in combat, and facing battle-hardened Asuras of equal rank, they suffered greatly.
So were beaten down brutally, including Dao Heng Tianzun and Lingbao Great Master, who hovered on the verge of death.
Dao Heng Tianzun lacked virtue, Lingbao Great Master lacked treasures—quintessential examples of the Chan Sect condition.
Ju Liusun was slightly better off; ever since he collected his disciple’s corpse, his sense of danger had heightened imnsely. In his spare ti, he focused solely on refining the Binding Immortal Rope.
His hands ford symbols as over a dozen Binding Immortal Ropes constantly entwined and immobilized surrounding Asuras, achieving remarkable efficacy.
The battlefield shifted rapidly. Lingbao Great Master, already struggling, reached the brink of exhaustion and failed to block one of the Asura’s iron fists. His Protective Spiritual Treasure was shattered in one decisive blow.
Terrified and about to execute an Escape Technique, another Asura skewered his arm with a single thrust of its spear. Lingbao Great Master, panicked, barely managed to cry out, "Senior Brother, save—" before being dismbered and listed by three Asuras nearby.
Guang Chengzi, as the Immortal closest in deanor to Yuanshi Tianzun among the Twelve Golden Immortals, harbored little sentint for his juniors apart from Chi Jingzi. However, he viewed the Chan Sect as his family.
Now that mbers of his ’family’ had ’died,’ his fury ignited, and an ominous light shone in his eyes.
