Lex dusted his hands as he looked out of the window from which he threw the reporter. He wanted to make sure that black and white guy actually left, and didn’t e back.

Although he had a tendency to ask awkward questions that Lex didn’t know how exactly he should answer, it wasn’t so bad at first. Awkwardness could not defeat Lex, plus he felt no threat from the guy at all. Instead, he seemed extremely interested in learning about Lex, and that interest was genuine, so Lex tolerated him in the beginning.

Then he started making some wild accusations about how the real reason Lex was harvesting resources from the Gilded Hollow was because he was trying to make a gift to appease an angry girlfriend - or something along those lines. At that point, Lex saw the little guy less as a reporter and more like a paparazzi for a gossip magazine and just threw him out.

It totally wasn’t because Lex was reminded about how, at the prime age of 25, he was still single.

Lex suddenly paused, and felt a little guilty. Reluctantly, he adjusted his mental age to 26. Yes, he had finally mentally aged one year since he got the Midnight Inn. Wow, a lot had happened in this one year. He almost felt sentimental.

As for his dating life...

Lex sighed, and sat down. It wasn’t his fault. Between angry deities, angry guests, angry Dao Lords, and the end of a universe as well as a universal war in another universe, it was hard to find time to date.

Yes, yes, he knew that he had to stop and smell the roses every once in a while but, he was a business owner. There was no check-out time for him, he worked 24/7. It wasn’t so easy to find the time even if he really wanted to.

Then there was the matter of options. It wasn’t like Lex was the kind of guy who would date casually. If he wanted to date someone, it was because he could see real, genuine potential in them for the future. But maybe he was overthinking it. After all, dating and crafting a fake realm inside his necklace didn’t necessarily have to have the same level of plexity.

What if he just went for it the next time an opportunity arose? Lex scratched his head as he thought about it, feeling like there was something wrong with that approach.

But he immediately reproached himself. He was already 26 now, he had to start thinking about these things. If he kept worrying about failure, he would never even take the first step. It wasn’t like Lex had never faced failure before - what was he afraid of?

No wait, why would he even fail? He was a smart, young, handsome business owner with a decent cultivation level. He needed to have more confidence in himself. He would surely get a date if he tried to-

Lex turned his head towards a corner where he saw the black and white reporter hiding and scribbling notes again. Lex’s lip twitched and he immediately grabbed the guy and threw him out again.

He shook his head and returned his focus towards his necklace, all the while watching where the Fortune Lord went. Even through just the screen, Lex could now see that his surroundings were all Dao material.

The region he was in now was probably worth more than many Major realms bined together for even the grains of dirt on the ground were Dao material! Although Lex could not use his spirit sense through the screen, nor could he feel their Dao radiation, he knew that this wasn’t his imagination.

Lex could not imagine how powerful, vast or rich Pentagal must have been to gather so many Dao materials together into a single realm.

Occasionally, Lex could see signs that the lands had some of their resources claimed. He found it odd that the Dao Lords only took some resources and left the vast majority alone.

But when he glanced at the number of threads connected to him from the Gilded Hollow for retribution, he could guess the reason.

They were already past 93% of the maximum that could be taken, so the Dao Lords had bee picky about the resources they harvested rather than taking blindly en masse.

For a few months, Lex continued to work on his necklace and observe the Fortune Lords journey, falling into a steady routine.

One day, however, the scene on the screen changed, and abruptly. One moment the Fortune Lord was traveling, and the next he was caught inside a battle between three different Dao Lords who seemed to be in a 2-on-1 fight.

Lex even recognized the races of the three. The one that was alone was an Elder race called Havi - a type of bird that relied on True names to conduct some kind of magic - while the other two were an Elder race called Orchidfolk - a race that was a mix of plant and beast with the benefits of both and drawbacks of neither!

The fight must have been taking pace at a speed Lex couldn’t process which is why it seemed instantaneous to him. For a few more seconds he saw blurry fight scenes, after which he saw all the Dao Lords stop fighting, with all three of them looking at the Fortune Lord warily.

"Friends, there is no need for caution. I do not wish to get involved in your fight, and will leave you be. I simply wish to ask you a few questions, if you can spare a moment," said the Fortune Lord amicably.

Lex, for some reason, could hear his voice now as the background music had stopped. The three Dao Lords looked at each other warily, and then back at Romulus.

"Who are you? I cannot recall anyone with your description. For what purpose have you hidden your identity from the universe?" asked the Havi.
