This thing looks silly, and putting it on... even sillier. But it’s effective against small flying insects, plus it has a collar to protect the back of your neck from bites.

Walking among the bizarre desert plants, we’ve finally blended into the environnt. The scenery here looks especially like an alien planet from a sci-fi movie. Now, with these silly shields on our heads, we look like a budget version of astronauts.

Maybe we should add a lightning rod too?

Qinghan and Mike exchanged a few words, and Mike cald down completely. His teammates have been dead for months now, and he buried them himself. The one still breathing is no longer the teammate he knew.

He moved quickly along the path, as if in a hurry. After three more hours, we ca to a pile of rocks. The rocks in the desert are also strangely shaped, so like donkey dung balls, donkey dung balls, and donkey dung balls...

This was a place where round stones were clustered together, piles of round stones gathered as if polished by hand.

However, they weren’t; they are naturally ford stones, their positions naturally arranged, with no deliberate placing by anyone.

Mike buried another teammate here, and sure enough, we found a human-shaped stone in the rock pile. It wasn’t breathing; it was just a stone figure. But it wasn’t carved by human hands either. It was absorbed by the stone.

The strange phenona made Mike furious. He said his teammates shouldn’t remain here in such a malford state.

Qinghan advised him, saying once the mystery of the anomaly was solved, his teammates’ remains could be taken out for a proper burial in a genuine graveyard.

"I need to find the source of all this." Mike’s gaze was like a wolf’s, his clenched fist like a hamr.

When he finds the source, can he smash it to bits?

My thoughts started to wander again. Doctor Du put forward a bold hypothesis: she thinks the matter within the anomaly mimics the form of higher-level biological organisms.

After listening for a while, I sumd it up for her: in this area, the material is like the spirits from Journey to the West. Whether they were mantis shrimps or rolling pins before, they would transform into human form once they gained sufficient power.

However, my knowledge is shallow, so I didn’t dare speak my thoughts aloud. If I did, Qinghan would surely glare at .

In a serious situation, it’s best to maintain seriousness. So I just listened and didn’t express any opinions.

After half a day of walking, we needed to camp and rest. Due to reports of quicksand pits in the area, Qinghan and the others didn’t pitch tents but erected tal fras to place our sleeping bags on. The fras were over a ter high, providing reaction ti if quicksand appeared.

Wang Le saw eyeing the tal pipes for the fra and smiled, saying, "These are special pipes, very light, more sturdy than steel."

As he said this, he weighed the unassembled pipes in his hand, as if they were plastic pipes.

They knew I was new to fieldwork and hadn’t seen many things yet, nor knew what they were for.

As for role training, well, there is so, but Qinghan didn’t let go. To be honest, our departnt has such a diverse team in background and skills that unified training is almost impossible.

So, so people skip the role training, and I’m one of them.

Being labeled as an "Outsider Expert," Qinghan’s mind is simple: he fears I’ll expose abilities I shouldn’t have.

During fieldwork, teammates won’t always keep an eye on , like Cheng Xuelin. Even if he’s with , he might not see take action. Training is different, with so many eyes watching and instructors and caras observing and recording. It’s too easy to expose sothing.

I’m curious about which abilities Qinghan inherited from — Night Vision, the Vajra Body, or the ability to use Karmic Fire?

Thinking this, I raised my hand and lightly patted Qinghan with my palm, just to try and see if I could transfer the Karmic Fire to him.

"What’s up?" Qinghan turned and asked with a puzzled look.

"Nothing, just seeing if we can rge," I mumbled casually, avoiding ntioning Karmic Fire in front of others.

"You two are both advanced forms of life, probably can’t transform each other’s appearance," Doctor Du said earnestly.

"Ah, what a pity, I wanted to experience being a male idol," I said.

Doctor Du looked at strangely and said, "Isn’t snatching a male idol enough for you?"

I imdiately shook my head: "No, no, I didn’t snatch him. He loves passionately, can’t break away, insists on sticking to ."

Doctor Du twisted her wrist and coldly said, "I think you need a beating."
