Just as Chen Qinghan expected, we didn’t reach our destination that day. We rested in the forest for a night and continued our journey early the next day. It was only by dusk on the third day that we finally arrived at the location marked by the coordinates.

Chen Qinghan said this place was near the Bear Country border. Further northwest, there’s a vast plain of Bear Country, even more desolate.

Although tourism has developed here in recent years, it’s all guided tours at specific spots, and tourists wouldn’t co to this area.

Standing on the hill marked by the coordinates, Chen Qinghan looked around and set down under a birch tree.

From an hour ago, I noticed that the surrounding trees were sparse, sick, infested, or withered, all around us.

Apart from little bugs, I hadn’t seen any other animals. According to those tomb robbers, the energy of this place has been drained, making it unsuitable for living creatures.

Also, when the northern logging supported national construction back in the day, it was likely no one ca to cut the trees here. Even if they were chopped down, the wood couldn’t be used as building material; it was too poor in quality.

The forest is devoid of wild beasts and dry goods, and no one cos here to hunt or gather, thus preserving many ’secrets’ in this area.

Just when I thought Chen Qinghan was going to use his skills to find the tomb entrance, he took out his phone and dialed Galaxy.

"Hello? We’re here, open the door."

Hold on, this isn’t what I expected, and it’s not like what happens on TV!

"Hold on, right away." The voice on the other side of the line sounded a bit lazy and drowsy, like just waking up.

"Ah—" I looked around, trying to see where the tomb door was. There were no rocks, no ancient trees, so it was unlikely there was an official tomb entrance.

Because unearthing the official tomb entrance would be too conspicuous, so... Galaxy must’ve excavated a robber’s tunnel.

And I happened to sit on the disguised robber’s tunnel. The solid ground suddenly gave way beneath . Realizing sothing was wrong, I couldn’t jump up as my whole body was weak. I just fell, landing on my rear into the robber’s tunnel.

"You sat on the door." Points of phosphorescent light appeared in the darkness, clusters of candle-like light floated in midair, surrounding a person.

I took a closer look; it was several puppets holding candles, encircling Galaxy to provide light.

"That door didn’t look like a door." I defended myself. Who would intentionally sit on a door, letting their backside bear the brunt!

"There are letters on the tree." Galaxy obviously didn’t accept my excuse.

Chen Qinghan stood outside the ’door,’ seemingly inspecting the birch tree, "Press the bell if needed, no public restroom here..."

"Who would co to this godforsaken place for convenience!" I sat on the ground, waiting for Chen Qinghan to co down and help up.

"There are, tomb robbers." Galaxy imdiately countered.

I was speechless. Ordinary people can’t tell there’s sothing unusual here; at most, they wouldn’t co to gather or hunt. But insiders could discern the clues, knowing there’s undoubtedly a grand tomb below.

Thinking of this, I looked around and found a vertical ladder on one side of the pit wall, like those in sewers.

A robber’s tunnel wouldn’t have such a thing, so I asked, "Did you install this?"

Galaxy shook her head, "It’s built into the ancient tomb."

I was surprised, "Did the tomb owner have soone dig the tunnel?"

But thinking it over, it seed wrong, so I quickly corrected myself, "Did he have soone leave it?"

Galaxy nodded, "The descendants ca to pay respects, but when I ca, no one had been here for a long ti."

It’s the first ti I’d heard of descendants entering the tomb to pay respects. Aren’t they supposed to tend to the grave mound and headstones?

But Galaxy didn’t continue this topic. Chen Qinghan climbed down the vertical ladder, and Galaxy pressed a chanism beside the ladder, making the disguised entrance swiftly revert to its original state.

This chanism should also have been installed by the tomb owner’s descendants. The tomb Galaxy found should have been a tomb robber’s paradise, but too bad the tomb owner was cremated. She herself is fiercer than zongzi; later tomb robbers could only consider it their fate.

Chen Qinghan ca down, helped up, and carried again. He and Galaxy were no longer strangers. Their conversation in the group was always lively; he even had her phone number—this must count as an offline eting between net friends!

"She has overused Karmic Fire and is now very weak. Do you have any way to help her recover?"

Galaxy led the way ahead, with Chen Qinghan following her, asking as they walked.

Galaxy casually tied her hair, wearing a black tie-front robe, flip-flops on her feet. It was the first ti I’d seen her dressed so ’casually’—a bit novel. In my mory, she even slept in combat gear, as if ready to spring into action from bed anyti.

"Karmic Fire is the ancestor’s thing. Our bodies are still lacking, unable to sustain energy cycling endlessly." Galaxy, for once, spoke so much at once, making a bit unaccustod.

"What do you an?" I asked.
