The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb! Chapter 208 - 209: Can’t We Get a Break?
How could I have forgotten, the music box she brought out from the Undersea City is still hidden on the island, she couldn’t just leave like that.
Now she has control of the ship’s operating system and directly sailed it back to the Sea of Sunken Ships. By the ti we found out, it was too late to stop it.
"What if you run out of fuel? Ask Shield for help and have them deliver so fuel?" Running out of fuel is secondary; I rember it was quite far from Victory Island to White Jade City. We were rescued and stayed on the ship for several days.
But it’s only been a few hours since we left Victory Island, so how did we get to the Sea of Sunken Ships so quickly?
"We haven’t been sailing long, how much fuel could it have used? I’m conserving fuel, okay, stop worrying. I promise to get you back to the shore," Bi Shi said confidently.
"Yeah, why is it so much faster this ti?" Following her words, I voiced the question in my heart.
"Hmph, they couldn’t even fully plagiarize, who do they have to bla? They copied the system but only figured out part of the operating thod."
"That’s already pretty good, worth complinting!"
"Copycat dogs."
"People just picked up scraps and conducted their own research."
"Whose side are you on? Never mind, anyway, they’ve repaired it, which helped too. The ship can fast-forward, but they don’t know how to use it."
"Ah...that’s amazing."
Bi Shi glanced at sideways, her look seed to say, ’You’re just pretending.’
I pursed my lips without explaining, not even planning to tell her about discovering the golden coffin on Victory Island.
The ship couldn’t dock directly; she stopped it nearshore, then pouted at .
"What do you an?" I didn’t understand.
"This post can’t be left unattended, so..." She smiled smugly.
"Huh? Are you looking to die? Dare to boss around?" I rolled up my sleeves, wanting to throw a few punches at her.
"You can ask Professor Chen to go," she reluctantly said.
"Pah~ such virtue, I’ll go." For this kind of thing, she probably wouldn’t agree to others going. The music box is extraordinary, asking to retrieve it was also for security reasons, only her attitude was particularly annoying.
Bi Shi gave detailed directions on where she hid the treasure, and I contacted Qinghan over the walkie-talkie to help set up the motorboat.
I felt the motorboat was relatively simple to operate, I could handle it alone, but Qinghan disagreed. He inford the team leader, then joined on the fishing boat.
Finding the music box went smoothly. Just as Qinghan and I were preparing to return, the fishing boat tilted suddenly on the horizon.
"Sothing happened." Qinghan, with a backpack containing the music box, imdiately wanted to dive into the sea, but at that mont, a flare rose from the fishing boat.
Qinghan paused. This ti, getting off the boat, we hadn’t discussed a signal. However, when heading to Victory Island, Qinghan and the team leader discussed a signal for ergencies.
If sothing happened to the fishing boat, and they didn’t want us to return, they’d launch a red flare.
And Qinghan’s backpack also contained a signal gun. If we encountered danger on the island and needed support, we’d launch a green flare.
It seems the team leader is signaling us not to return, we don’t know what attacked the fishing boat, but it is apparently sinking.
Luckily, the sinking is slow, so if there are no subsequent attacks, they still have ti to escape.
"Sigh~ so annoying, who could it possibly be now without allowing us to catch a breath."
"It might be Shield."
"If it were them, they arrived pretty fast."
"Maybe they were just nearby from the start." Qinghan said, taking off his backpack, "Let’s go, put the items back."
Speaking of foresight, credit goes to Professor Chen. He placed the music box back to its original position and cleared the traces we left nearby. After finishing, we saw a fleet of motorboats sailing mightily towards the shore.
There weren’t this many motorboats on the fishing boat. As they approached the shore, I realized there were even lifeboats sandwiched among the motorboats.
Now it’s a ss, the music box can’t be retrieved, and the return ship was sunk.
I didn’t know what happened to the Skin-ripping Water Monster trapped in the boat’s hold. If soone intentionally sank the fishing boat, the most likely reason would be to destroy evidence.
The fleet of motorboats docked in array by the shore, and fully ard people leapt down. The soldiers in those movies about Earth people fighting aliens wore this kind of gear.
Only these people in front of wore all black from head to toe, their face masks were as tightly fitted as a welder’s.
Of course, they held rifles, not welding guns, but I couldn’t tell how powerful they were, not knowing if they were more intense than the Undersea People’s Water Guns.
The first group that got off the boat quickly approached standing foolishly by the shore. Qinghan had already hidden away first.
The two of us acted, one in the open, one in hiding. The ’welders’ aid their guns at , wearing simultaneous translation devices, speaking to in Mandarin, but their tone sounded odd, not natural.
They ordered to hand over my weapons. I hesitated for a mont, took out a dagger, and threw it on the ground.
But they didn’t seem to believe I only carried a dagger. I naively thought they would frisk , but a nearly two-ter-tall brute grabbed my leg, lifting up and shaking upside-down.
Thank goodness I hadn’t eaten; otherwise, last night’s al would have churned out. Trinkets and souvenirs fell out in a heap, but nothing could be considered a weapon.
They finally felt assured, the brute tossed to the ground, not caring if I landed face-first.
I picked up the fallen items, stuffing them back into my pockets. Fortunately, the pearl hairpin was in a zipped inner pocket, no amount of shaking could dislodge it.
The pocket was so small, they didn’t notice. Soon after, I saw the team leader and the others disembarking and heading towards the shore.
Guan Hai carrying Cong Zhibo, Bi Shi carrying He Su, followed closely by Lu Xiaodao, along with Captain Jack and his crew.
Captain Jack’s hand was excruciatingly painful; disembarking from the fishing boat, after bumping along in the lifeboat, he was on the verge of collapse.
Two crew mbers propped him up from both sides, preventing him from collapsing directly on the ground, unable to rise.
It seems those who attacked the fishing boat had no intention of killing the people aboard.
Only Captain Jack and his crew received the sa treatnt as us, which is interesting.
The ’welders’ leader, dressed in pure white, stood out prominently among the black, impossible to miss.
He approached , asking where the other person was.
He knew we landed on the island as a pair. I pointed towards the jungle behind, "He went to get sothing and left here to stand guard."
"How long has he been gone?"
"Just went in, and the boat sank." I pretended to look at my watch, which wasn’t entirely untrue. From when we landed to the boat’s attack hadn’t been long.
Of course, if the music box were deep in the jungle... entering and exiting, it couldn’t be done in under an hour.
But the leader in white suddenly punched in the stomach, his gloves partially encased in tal, perhaps ant to protect the knuckles when forming a fist. However, hitting soone with them is extrely painful.
BUT, I assud it should be quite painful, painful to the extent of bending over, so I hunched, feigning an inability to straighten up.
"What you said better be true."
"Fu!"
"You—"
Guan Hai and the team leader supported my act perfectly, and their reactions were swift — one ’heartache,’ the other filled with rage, expressions spot-on.
