At dinner ti, Bi Shi brought a piece of bread to deliver food to Chen Qinghan and casually tossed a mobile phone.

She said this was the first installnt of my installnt paynt. I exchanged the customized senior phone that Chen Qinghan got for for the music box she wanted. She promised she would compensate , and it looks like she’s keeping her word.

Chen Qinghan ate the bread in the salty sea breeze, while I fiddled with the second-hand phone Bi Shi gave beside him.

The phone probably wasn’t stolen by her. There was no fingerprint lock set, and both the album and internal mory were completely cleared, with the contact list empty, too.

Bi Shi isn’t the type to kindly delete old ssages for . If she stole it, she would have handed it to as-is, letting handle the remaining records myself.

I wonder why I never noticed she had such a talent. Lord Priest always appears aloof, high and mighty, and the thought of mingling with others or brokering deals dispels such illusions.

I have a mory card loaded with novels, movies, and gas, stored in a waterproof sealed bag. It’s very convenient to carry due to its small size and can be used as long as there’s a phone.

Once Chen Qinghan finished eating the bread, he returned to his room. I followed him, feeling not so much like providing comfort but more like monitoring him.

But he didn’t refuse my tailing him. He let follow him back to his room. He sat on the bed in a daze once inside, while I moved a chair to sit by the porthole, wearing one earphone as I quietly listened to a novel.

The phone Bi Shi sent ca with earphones and a power bank, probably having bought the entire ’set’ from soone.

I never asked if she had anything valuable on her. Maybe she brought sothing from her grave, or perhaps she took He Su’s wallet.

Anyway, after a tumultuous adventure, she still had money to buy a phone, which truly impressed .

"Little Fu." After several hours of silence, Chen Qinghan suddenly called out to .

"Huh?" I was ready to respond at any mont, so when he spoke, I imdiately took off my earphones.

"I want to talk to that woman," he paused, "before Captain Jack."

"No problem, I’ll keep Captain Jack occupied once she wakes up."

"Don’t worry, I’m fine. I’ll adjust my emotions and wait..." Just as Chen Qinghan finished speaking, the ship suddenly swayed.

Although the swing wasn’t large, it was nonetheless strange. The fishing boat had anchored in the afternoon and remained steady on the sea, the sway was very mild, there was no reason for it to suddenly rock like that.

"Ah—Ah—" Vaguely, I heard a woman’s scream again, though muffled through the corridor and not as loud as in the day.

We stepped out of the room, and the others must have heard it too. Curious crew mbers stood at room doors, trying to figure out what happened.

"It’s okay, she’s just overly frightened. The doctor will administer a sedative."

"Maybe it’s just a nightmare, we’re too tense."

"Hush! Listen, she’s shouting, they’re coming..."

As the gathered crew mbers debated, the ship swayed again.

This kind of swaying felt different from being rocked by waves, as if sothing had bumped against the hull suddenly.

"It’s a big one, a great white shark?"

"No, maybe a killer whale."

They were still guessing while the woman’s scream grew increasingly sharp and agonizing, and I also heard her shouting, ’They’re coming,’ ’Leave, quickly.’

Whatever made her so terrified must be related to the danger she encountered in the day, but she was already on the fishing boat and had been sedated. In the ward, how could she know danger was approaching?

The woman’s scream ca to an abrupt stop, most likely due to a higher dose of the sedative.

However, another scream belonging to a man ca to replace it, and it originated from the deck. Then soone shouted, ’Soone’s fallen overboard.’

The scream was evidently from the person who fell. All the crew mbers could swim, so an ordinary fall shouldn’t result in such a dire scream. Furthermore, the urgency and panic in the voices coming from the deck also indicated that this wasn’t an ordinary fall.

Chen Qinghan and I hurried out of the room, rushing to the deck outside the cabin. Already, a dozen or so people had gathered there, shining lights on the sea’s surface, but only the calm waves were visible, with no one in sight.

A short crew mber quickly explained to the others that the person had intended to smoke on the deck and accidentally toppled over the railing when the ship swayed.

Soone cursed that the person must be a drunkard who had too much cat urine.

But even if drunk, falling into the sea wouldn’t cause such a horrifying scream. Either he would call for help, or sink tipsily into the ocean depths.

"Send soone down to check."

"No, no, no, don’t go down. There’s sothing in the sea, it, it dragged Brian away!" the short crew mber shouted, eyes wide with terror.

Soone fell overboard and hasn’t resurfaced; the captain would certainly send soone down to search, but the captain was still on his way. Any further delay, and they would only be retrieving a corpse.

An increasing number of crew gathered on the deck, and one person shed his robe and jumped into the sea.

This ti, everyone present witnessed a terrifying scene. The man jumped in, surfaced, and tried to take a deep breath to dive for the person, but several red hands suddenly erged from the sea, pressing his shoulders and head, and pushed him under the water.

"Ah—Help—" The man struggled to reerge like the person before, screaming desperately.

The people on the deck snapped back to reality, throwing a life preserver tied with a rope to him and soone even tossed a spear gun into the sea.

But all this was in vain. The man was once more dragged underwater by the red hands. Captain Jack arrived, and his bodyguards fired twice into the sea, but everyone knew that with no visible target across the sea’s surface, the shots wouldn’t hit the assailant at all.

Sending soone down could lead to unforeseen dangers, but without sending anyone down, two lives would be lost just like that.

Captain Jack commanded soone to get an underwater cara. Although humans often voyage through the seas, that’s only on the surface. The underwater world still holds too many unknowns.

Chen Qinghan gently tugged my sleeve and looked at Captain Jack, then at the cabin door.

At this mont, more and more people were gathered on the deck. With Captain Jack busy dealing with the situation, this was the perfect opportunity for us to approach the rescued woman.

The two of us quietly retreated to the cabin door, pretending to lean there watching the commotion. Once everyone’s attention was elsewhere, Chen Qinghan secretly slipped back into the cabin.

I stayed at the door, keeping watch and paying attention to Captain Jack’s movents.

Strangely enough, after the two crew mbers fell, the fishing boat didn’t sway any further.

At least for the ti being, there were no more anomalies. When Bi Shi ca outside and saw standing by the cabin door, she gave a knowing smile and whispered, "I’m here to keep watch too."

It turned out their team also took this chance to carry out the plan they had devised in the afternoon.
