The conversation among a few crew mbers caught the attention of others, just as Captain Jack announced over the broadcast to send soone to close the door.

The person closest to the door turned and went out, but imdiately retreated upon stepping out.

He was flustered, stuttering as he spoke, saying there was soone in the corridor.

There being soone in the corridor wasn’t strange; what was strange was the person’s attitude. It seed the person he was talking about was not recognizable to him, because they had been on the ship together for a long ti and knew each other too well. They always called each other by na or nickna.

Now, this person only said there was soone in the corridor without ntioning who it was. Coupled with his weird deanor, the others imdiately beca alert.

So suspected it was pirates sneaking aboard under the cover of the storm, because in such weather, even if they called for help, no one would co.

Of course, the pirates would first track them and then strike at the opportune mont.

They had encountered such events before, only the pirates were unlucky as this wasn’t a real fishing boat, and the crew weren’t fishern.

Moreover, there was a secret arsenal on board, where weapons were hidden more securely than mascots. We’ve been on board for days and still haven’t found the location of the arsenal.

Just when I thought he would pull out weapons to confront the pirates, the person at the door suddenly closed it, backing against the door with an expression like a horde of zombies was about to burst in.

When they thought an intruder was a pirate, their expressions were full of fighting spirit. Now, with this terrified look, it was similar to when they suspected I was a witch.

From this, I guessed that the ’person’ outside might not be normal.

"Huh? You still don’t believe it? About that curse," Bi Shi raised his eyebrows at and asked quietly.

"I don’t believe it, just a coincidence." I said I didn’t believe it, but my mind wavered. Wherever I went, supernatural events occurred; encountering them every ti isn’t the probability of re coincidence.

The problem is, I don’t know what my kindred might have done to while I slept in the past.

"You’re just being stubborn." Bi Shi looked towards the door where a crowd had already gathered.

The person who closed the door gestured for others to be silent, and the dining room went quiet instantly.

Chen Qinghan stood up and changed seats with , pushing inside the dining table, close to the window.

He must have noticed the crew mbers’ eyes, especially the one who closed the door first; he looked at with both fear and anger.

I rember him being among those who didn’t accept Captain Jack’s appeasent. He still harbored doubts about my identity.

I didn’t know what he saw in the corridor that made him link it to .

From the speaker in the corner of the wall, a set of tapping sounds ca through, not very loud, like soone tapping the microphone with their fingers.

Upon hearing this sound, the crew imdiately understood sothing. They took out a pair of earplugs and inserted them into their ears. All of them carried these with them, so they must encounter such things frequently.

Since it happens frequently, it can’t be blad on . I was even more puzzled by his attitude towards , as if the ’person’ outside was soone I had called.

They glanced at the three of us, but no one was willing to share their earplugs with us. Soone hesitated and glanced at Bi Shi and Chen Qinghan, seemingly still having a bit of compassion for them, but only a little. In the face of real crisis, they chose to save themselves.

That’s fine, everyone for themselves, no favors owed.

Soon, an ethereal and mournful song began at the door, and the crew used a mop to prop against the door handle, pulling back the one blocking the door.

I was curious why they didn’t block it themselves, but the door panel was covered with frost.

Not only the door panel, but the walls on both sides of the door also began to form frost flowers, no wonder they all retreated.

And it also showed that they indeed had experience, knowing who was coming.

The singing continued, mournful and desolate, as if sobbing and narrating, moving listeners to tears.

Judging by the sound, it was a woman, probably quite young. Being able to convey such a desolate and poignant song at a young age, I suddenly felt inspired and wanted to light a lamp for her.

In the dining room, only the three of us didn’t have our ears blocked. I looked at Chen Qinghan and Bi Shi to seek their opinions.

It was then I realized they had already stuffed their ears with tissues and bread!

Bi Shi had used an entire tissue to act as Little Fei.

No wonder the crew’s gaze on had completely changed in flavor; those recently appeased by Captain Jack were once again terrified.

They exchanged gestures, Captain Jack connected to the ship’s video, signaling for a long ti with apparent disputes, but ultimately, the Captain compromised with the crew, nodding reluctantly.

He wore earplugs, as did the helmsman behind him, so it seed only I could hear the singing outside the door.

Receiving his permission, the crew approached nacingly, their angry faces frightening but very familiar to —that was anger pushed to the extre by fear.

Chen Qinghan stood in front of . He repositioned himself earlier for this very reason; he knew once the crew was dominated by fear, the Captain, even against his will, would sacrifice to stabilize their emotions.

I had confidence in his skills; none of the people in this room could match him, but if a fight broke out, what if the bread in his ears fell out? Those aren’t as effective as professional earplugs.

I grabbed him, pulling him behind , mouthing, "Trust !"

Just as I trusted Chen Qinghan’s abilities, he similarly trusted mine.

Moreover, the song that daunted the crew had no effect on ; it was just too moving, I wanted to light a lamp for her.

The crew’s intention was simple: they wanted to leave the dining room, to go anywhere imdiately.

I gestured "OK," and seeing I was willing to leave voluntarily, they didn’t resort to force.

I pointed to the kitchen, signaling that I wanted to take sothing before leaving.

Of course, they had no objections. The singing outside continued ceaselessly; if the door wasn’t opened, she might keep singing indefinitely.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed the prepared beef, about twenty pounds, and under the bewildered gazes of everyone, I opened the door and stepped out of the dining room.

As soon as I stepped out, the door behind shut imdiately, almost knocking against my heels.

Outside, I discovered that half the corridor was covered in frost; walls, floor, ceiling, quite like a natural refrigerator.

The ’person’ standing outside was intimidating, no wonder the crew was scared. Although it had a human form, its face was completely unrecognizable.

Humans are visual creatures; in an era where appearance is justice, it looked too ’evil.’

Two eyes like black holes, a flattened area with only two holes instead of a nose, and teeth resembling those of a piranha.

Long white hair draped down while seemingly having a wind-blown effect. Although inside the ship, the hair drifted like seaweed, swaying without a breeze!

It wore a black long-sleeve dress, with the exposed hands shriveled and bony.

Its lower body consisted of several crab legs, but it wasn’t a crab; it was seated on a crab’s back, with the long hem of the dress conveniently covering the crab’s upper part, making them seem like a singular monster, akin to the Centipede Woman, but actually, they were separate.
